Part 1
" Hello Ms.Purohit" said Abeer in a formal tone, and stressing on her name specially.
Abeer also forwarded his hand to complete the handshake. And the moment their hands touched, their hearts raced and time for them halted.
Meher saw herself losing in his charms all over again and Abeer didn't want it to happen. Neither did he want to lose in her, nor did he want her to lose herself in him, at least not in the near future.
He firmly took back his hand, jerking Meher back to the painful reality of their life. And it did its job effectively. Meher realized that he still hadn't forgotten what occurred in the past.
Well, who could forget a play no one expected but everyone loved. She had broken his heart once and for payback, he was breaking her every time they came in front of each other.
Meher was brought back to earth by Nissar's words which would mean a separation once again.
" Abeer, let me introduce you to our other clients!" said Nissar, with a charming smile.
Jhuki Teri Palkon Pe Mil Jaye Mujhe Panhaa
Palkein Giri Ansu Bhari Reh Jaye Mere Nishaan
Abeer curtly nodded in assurance while eyeing at Meher intently. He could see that she had changed herself a lot. She, no longer looked like a desperate immature teenager. She had a mature look on her face and immense pain hidden in her eyes, but he chose to ignore the latter.
Abeer moved from there, and Meher felt energy leave her body.
She couldn't blame the destiny, could she?
After all, whatever was happening was the result of her own doings which were completely immature.
Meher's eyes traced the path which Abeer's feet followed. He could sense her gaze on him but he chose to not acknowledge it, for his eyes have been always ignore by her and now she had no rights to expect him to see her searching eyes.
---------------
Parking,
The party was still ongoing but Meher had no reason to stay inside all the noise which her heart craved for peace.
Peace.
She was the best example of a person, who destroyed the peace of two lives by her immature deeds.
She wanted to go back home but then thought that her mom would shower questions on her and she was in no mood to answer them. Hence, she decided to take a stroll in the nearby park.
As she walked into the wide patches of greenery, away from the noise, she starting feeling home. But there was something else which was making her feel this way. Rather, it was presence of someone extremely special to her, which made her feel this way.
Suddenly her eyes fell on the reason of the homely feeling, Abeer Malhotra, who was smoking in the park since smoking in the party was not allowed.
He was smoking?
The Abeer she last saw 8 years before hated smokers and smoking and now he came out of a party to smoke. How much can time change a person?
Meher went towards him and threw the cigarette off his hands much to Abeer's shock.
" What the hell do you think you are doing? And What the hell are you doing here?" asked Abeer, through gritted teeth and anger visible in his eyes.
"In this noise-filled atmosphere, anyone would require air! And I am preventing air-pollution by not letting you smoke here." said Meher, while smirking at him.
" Oh! Is there no other place in this whole locality that you came here only?" asked Abeer, raising his eyebrow as he hated her very presence.
" Now I don't know, if you know do tell me." said Meher, with a naughty smile hinting that if there was one more locality he too might not be here.
Abeer irritatedly turned his face away from her, hinting her that he didn't want her in front of him.
" Abeer.." started Meher, as she wanted to apologize badly.
" GO AWAY, Ms.Purohit" shouted Abeer.
" What is happening here?" came a voice from behind, and soon a policeman came into light.
" What are you doing here?" asked the policeman, eyeing at Meher, lustily.
Abeer didn't want to answer him and hence Meheri had to answer.
" Sir...actually..." started Meher, to be cut in between by the policeman.
" If you can't say a dialogue properly then why did you come here to romance with your Majnu?" asked policeman confirming if the guy was her BF.
Abeer sternly looked at policeman while Meher signed him to calm down.
" What are you saying, Sir? He is not my boy-friend." rejected Meher.
" Then are you his colleague?" asked policeman.
" No, Sir."
Abeer looked at Meher intently at why she was refusing the truth. She was his colleague and Meher signed with her eyes to calm down.
" She is not your girlfriend nor is she your colleague. Then who is she?" asked the policeman, with his eyebrows raised while Abeer and Meher, whose eyes were locked in an intense eye lock and couldn't hear anything except their hearts which were beating irregularly.
" Now I understood, ande ka fanda. Kya Chal Raha Hai Kaala Dhanda?" taunted the policeman, with bad intentions in his mind.
Abeer and Meher jerked off to the present with the impure words spoken by the policeman.
" What are you saying, dammit? Can't you speak politely? Don't you dare speak to her like that." roared Abeer in Meher's defense.
" Aye Chal Chal...Don't tell me what to say and what not to say. And you Madam, come to the station right now." shouted the policeman.
As the policeman went ahead was hoping that Meher would be coming with him but he was stopped on his tracks when Abeer shouted,
" She is my WIFE!"
--FLASHBACK--
" You made fun of my love right?"
She felt the sacred chain of marriage being tied to her, while she continued to struggle to free herself but it was of no avail.
" You rejected me right?"
Though it was an anticipated action, she broke from inside as the red color of vermillion filled her partition, marking her as his, forever.
" Now your whole life has become a joke,Meher Purohit. And I reject you right now because YOU don't deserve LOVE, YOU deserve PAIN." roared Abeer Malhotra before leaving her struggling to free herself from the ropes which bound her hands and legs.
