Earlier this month, Sushant Singh Rajput was shooting for his next " a biopic on cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni " in Delhi. While he was in the city, the actor visited his college, Delhi Technological University (formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering). Now, we have come to know that the faculty there has invited him to attend the institute's alumni function.
An insider says, "The discussion took place when he visited his college. Even last year, he was requested to come for the meet. The alumni function will take place in the first half of next year, but the date hasn't been fixed yet."
The insider reveals that the actor has been invited to have an inspiring chat with the students. The source says, "He has been asked to deliver a special lecture to the current batch. The college authorities have requested him to talk about his journey, the ups and downs in his career, and more." Sushant has apparently asked his team to make time in his schedule for this.
Although Sushant remained unavailable for comment, his spokesperson confirmed the news.
He's definitely made the audience sit up and take note of his acting skills. And now, actor Sushant Singh Rajput is now all set to turn producer.
However, Sushant insists that his first priority will always be acting. "I have a team and we are currently working on several projects. Some of them are for digital and some for TV. As of now, I don't know if I'll be in any of the shows, but if my presence helps, then I'll do that," the actor reveals.
He adds, "TV was always a very powerful medium. It is just that we are very short of content. It is also to do with the kind of audience for television, so in that sense, it is not symbiotic. I dream of making the biggest studio of the country. The content that I am developing is more issue based and not in a very serious kind of way. Some are also interactive and informative."
Talking about the future, he says, "I don't obsess about the future but I do make plans. And every time I make them, they seem unattainable and farfetched. Six years ago, while studying in Delhi, when I told my friends I wanted to be a hero, they all laughed. When I told them I wanted to be a Yash Raj Hero, they laughed louder. I dropped out. My seniors went on to do MBA and now, I've hired them to work with me."
There were talks that Raabta, directed by Dinesh Vijan and Homi Adajania was to be shelved, but that isn't the case as per recent developments. The director duo has been looking for an actress to play the female lead opposite Sushant Singh Rajput after Alia Bhatt walked out of the film to sign Shuddhi. Incidentally, both Shuddhi and Raabta are based on stories pertaining to reincarnation. The latter will see characters whose love for each other spans across different eras.
Says a source, "After Alia Bhatt abandoned the project to be part of Karan Johar's Shuddhi, there were talks about the film being shelved. But the filmmakers are now looking for other actresses to take on the role of the lead actress. Homi and Sushant are also back to discussing the film."
Sushant, who is currently shooting for the biopic on Mahendra Singh Dhoni, will start work on Raabta as soon as the leading lady is finalised.

Buzz is, the Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer was initially offered to AR Rahman, who couldn't do it owing to his busy schedule. Amaal was brought on board after much deliberation.
"Three of the songs are romantic numbers which will highlight key moments of Dhoni's relationship with wife Saakshi, from the time they first meet to post marriage," revealed a source close to the production. "None of them are club or party numbers."
Mirror had reported (October 8) that Sushant and his leading lady Kiara Advani were spotted earlier this month in Aurangabad, shooting one of the romantic songs before Dhoni and Sakshi tied the knot in 2010.
Interestingly, the songs in the Dhoni biopic won't have the characters lip-syncing to them, but will play in the background. "Neeraj wanted the score to complement the cricketer's image," adds the source.
Amaal has previously composed two singles "Zindagi Aa Raha Hoon Main" and "Chal Wahan Jaate Hain", featuring Tiger Shroff. He also composed the title track for the Hero remake.
