"The actors filmed a romantic song where Sakshi will be seen touring the city with Dhoni, showing him the best tourist spots," says a source from the sets. "Apart from the outdoor sequences at Aurangabad Caves and Bibi Ka Maqbara, Kiara, as Sakshi, also filmed a lovey-dovey, late night conversation sequence," the source told Mirror.
The shot marks the time when Sakshi was studying hotel management at the Institute of HoteManagement in the city and would spend her nights chatting with Dhoni. The unit filmed in the real location of the girls hostel, where Sakshi had lived.
"Shooting began on October 3 and wrapped up on Tuesday evening.Besides the girls hostel, Kiara also shot in the classroom and cafeteria of the institute," the source revealed.
Sushant, who began filming in Delhi, had been shooting in Ranchi and Jalandhar as well. "Kiara undertook a few workshops before she began shooting her first schedule and is expected to meet Sakshi soon to understand her character even better," the source informed.
Just before he had left for his solo schedule, earlier, Sushant told Mirror (September 30), that he had done all the possible preparation to step into the shoes of the ODI and T20 cricket captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni."Complete immersion is important, more so when you're playing a reallife character. Viewers must feel that you are him and not merely pretending to be him," Sushant had reasoned, admitting that at times he does feel like he's talking differently, like Dhoni.

The actor is going all out for his role in the biopic | ||
Sushant Singh Rajput, who will be seen playing the role of Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the biopic MS Dhoni - The Untold Story, has been preparing hard for the ambitious role. The actor was recently in Delhi for the biopic and visited SportsFit' a gym by MS Dhoni in Vasant Kunj for working out. A source says, "Sushant had an intense workout session at SportsFit gym as he wants to leave no stone unturned to make it look as real as possible. Sushant is a fitness freak and he's already preparing for the biopic, so what could be better than working out in Dhoni's gym itself?" The actor also met the staff at the gym, signed autographs and interacted with them to know more about Dhoni as an individual and explore the other side of the cricket legend. "The actor didn't disappoint his fans watching him workout and clicking his pictures," the source adds. |
Congrats Vandana Kataria for the first Production Design award for Detective Byomkesh Bakshy at the Jagran Film Festival. This is just the beginning...
Biopics and historicals seem to be the hot button issues in Bollywood! Some time ago, came the news that Sonakshi Sinha has been roped in to play the role of Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parker. It seems an interesting choice for an actor to pick a role with a steely edge. She did show spark in the brilliant but forgotten Lootera. Let's hope she finds her feet in this Apoorva Lakhia film.
Then, a biopic on India's most successful cricket captain, MS Dhoni, is also currently in the pipeline. This is certainly unusual as Dhoni is still an active player and has reportedly demanded a whopping amount for the rights to his life. Sushant Singh Rajput has been training hard to mimic the on field mannerisms of the cricketing great. Let's hope his labour of love bears fruit.
If Dhoni is the good boy of the cricketing world then Mohammed Azharuddin was the archetypal bad boy. He was the man who seemingly had it all but threw it away when caught in the vicious circle of betting. The taint of match-fixing still surrounds him despite that he has given his consent to his biopic. He's even training Emraan Hashmi, who is playing him on screen, into getting the nuances right.
One of the most controversial films in the offing is Meghana Gulzar's Talvar. It's a Roshomon like re-examination of Aarushi Talwar's murder and its aftermath. Given the sensitivity of the subject one needed a director as capable as Gulzar's daughter to stop it from it from segueing into a meaningless melodrama. Aarushi may never have found justice but at least her memory should find some closure after this film.
And how can we forget the baap of all biopics, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani, starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. The opulent trailer looks tantalising and one can't wait to watch the film. Peshwa Bajirao was a true visionary and there is more to his life than just his love story. Let's hope that the film manages to do justice to the man and the policies he stood for.
More such biopics are ready to roll off the racks! More the merrier, bring it on!
