Anupam Kher to play Sushant Singh Rajput's father in Dhoni biopic

A lot has been said about the currently underproduction bio pic on cricketer M S Dhoni, however the latest we hear is that veteran actor Anupam Kher will also be seen in the film. In fact Kher will be seen playing Sushant Singh Rajput's father Pan Singh in the film.

Confirming the same Anupam Kher says, "Yes it is true I am in the film and will be playing Sushant's father, however I cannot reveal any more details of it." Directed by Neeraj Pandey the film titled MS Dhoni - The Untold Story is making a biopic on the life, family and career of India's most respected cricketer, MS Dhoni. Interestingly this will be the fourth time director Neeraj Pandey will be collaborating with Kher, earlier being for films like A Wednesday, Special 26 and Baby.

Produced by Fox Star Studios, MS Dhoni - The Untold Story is expected to commence shooting in August in Dhoni's hometown Ranchi and is slated for release next year.

A few days ago, we told you that 3 heroines - Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor and Kriti Sanon - were vying to play Mrs. Sakshi Dhoni in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (Who will play Mrs Dhoni - Alia/ Shraddha/ Kriti?, July 2).

9xe.com now has it that Shraddha has put her nose in the front in the 3-horse race to play the female lead in Neeraj Pandey's film on the famed cricketer.

Alia and Kriti are virtually out of contention of the Sushant Singh Rajput starrer. Neeraj thinks that Shraddha would suit the part better.

So what makes the ABCD 2 actress the front runner?

Explaining the director's thought process, a source says, "Neeraj is quite impressed by the fact that Shraddha's North Indian accent is quite close to Sakshi's style of talking."

An official announcement in this regard is expected soon, well before the film rolls next month.

For a while now, the rumour mills have been buzzing about a remake of the Hollywood film, The Fault In Our Stars, which is based on the best-selling novel by John Green. After much speculation, we finally have word that Deepika Padukone and Sushant Singh Rajput have been signed on to play the lead pair in the teenage love story. The film, untitled as of now, will be directed by Homi Adajania, whose last directorial outing was Finding Fanny in 2014. The director is all set to recreate the love story between two teenagers affected with cancer. Deepika and Sushant will play Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters respectively, the characters essayed by Shaileen Woodley and Ansel Elgort in the Hollywood original. While these details already have us guessing at the plot details and other members of the ensemble, it looks like we'll have to watch this space for more updates.
