It is (real friendships in Bollywood) difficult, but definitely possible. Time and intention are the key factors. You have to have both to cultivate a healthy friendship. Also [for real friendship] the idea of giving needs to be more than expecting. However, a line needs to be drawn somewhere, because I feel that a friend, who is mostly in need, is a friend that is definitely in greed (smiles)!

Sushant Singh Rajput recently met MS Dhoni's childhood friends and coach in Ranchi to get an insight into the cricketer's personal life

Sushant Singh Rajput has maintained a low profile ever since the release of his last film, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!. While the actor is known to be elusive, the preparation work for his next film, which is a biopic on Indian cricketer MS Dhoni, is also keeping him busy. In fact, he recently visited the cricketer's home town, Ranchi. Apparently, Sushant was eager to meet Dhoni's close friends to get an insight into his personal life.

"Sushant felt that he could learn a lot about Dhoni's life from the people who have been with him since he was a child. So, during his visit, he spent time with Dhoni's friends from school and college, his coach, and his family members," says an insider.

The actor has also been training hard with former Indian wicketkeeper Kiran More for a year now. "Sushant has been training in both, wicketkeeping and batting with More," adds the insider.

Apart from honing his cricketing skills, the 29-yearold is also making sure that he's getting Dhoni's look right. Sushant couldn't be reached for a comment.

What did MS Dhoni's fan tell Sushant Singh?

Everyone knows that India is a cricketcrazy nation. And Sushant Singh Rajput recently got a taste of what it is like to live up to the average fan's expectations. Sushant was at a hotel in Mumbai a few days ago, when a man on a wheelchair spotted him. He approached the actor, and said, "Beta, Dhoni ke role ki izzat rakh lena (Do a good job while playing Dhoni on the big screen)."

For those who may not be aware, Sushant has been roped in to play Mahendra Singh Dhoni in a biopic based on the Indian cricketer. Sushant's last film, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, failed to live up to the audience's expectations, but in the past he has wowed viewers with his roles in movies like Kai Po Che! (2013), Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) and PK (2014). The film is expected to go on the floors on August 23.

If the latest buzz is to be believed, Sushant Singh Rajput has been approached to endorse an international brand of luxury watches against a big, fat cheque " R 5 crore.

A source says, " It is a highend brand and officials of the Canada- based company were looking for a fresh face to be part of their new campaign. In fact, they have been in talks with a

few other actors before meeting Sushant's team. He has been offered R 5 crore and shown interest in this deal." It is said that the company chose to approach him given that the actor will be playing the protagonist in the MS Dhoni biopic. Another source says, " Sushant is currently shooting for the film and the company wishes to complete their TV commercial as soon as possible. They will finalise the deal if he gives them dates right away. It is a lucrative offer and Sushant does not want to let it slip from his hands. He is now trying to accommodate dates as he has to travel a lot for the film's shoot." An industry source, however, dismisses the buzz, saying: " R 5 crore for promoting a watch brand is hard to digest. Sushant's brand value has taken a bit of a beating with his last film not doing well. So, it seems unlikely." Sushant was not available for comment.

Sushant and Tendulkar's son bond over cricket

Sushant Singh Rajput, who is currently preparing for his next - a biopic on Indian cricketer MS Dhoni, was recently practising at a stadium in Mumbai. Former ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar's son, Arjun, was also present there at the same time.

An insider says, "Sushant met Arjun. They interacted for some time, and even played cricket together. Arjun bowled to Sushant. The actor managed to hit a couple of sixes too."

It seems it was Sushant who spotted the budding player. "He saw Arjun, and walked up to him for a chat. They discussed their love for cricket, and the film that Sushant is working on. The actor told him about his regular practice sessions, and how he, too, enjoys playing the sport a lot," says the source.

Kiara Advani to play Sakshi Dhoni in 'MS Dhoni

Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey (A Wednesday, Special 26, Baby) is astute and when it comes to casting for his movies he is near perfect. Bombay Times has learnt that the director has been auditioning for many months now for the role of Sakshi Dhoni in the official biopic on the most successful Indian cricket captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

The filmmaker's effort has borne fruit. Sources confirm that Neeraj has chosen the young and vivacious Kiara Advani to play Sakshi in the film MS Dhoni " The Untold Story opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, who plays the title role.

A source close to the project confirms, "It was quite challenging to find the right girl to play Sakshi as people at large have seen her quite frequently on television and in person, so they would tend to compare. Neeraj was clear that he wanted a young actress in this biopic. He didn't wish to cast a leading lady who has done many roles because he didn't want the audience to have a preconceived notion or form an impression about her. He basically wanted an actor without baggage."

One hears from other confirmed sources that Kiara's audition was just amazing. Her chemistry with Sushant during the screen test and rehearsals is what made her land the role. Of course, she is not wasting any time and has been rehearsing non-stop to look and act the part of Sakshi, a role that many heroines were vying for. Like it is said, casting is half the battle won. Looks like Neeraj has already emerged victorious.

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is set to go on the floors by the end of this month.
