Watch: Sushant, Vaani romance in 'Gulabi' song

Anticipation is rising regarding Shudh Desi Romance – the latest film by Aditya Chopra. There is a lot of expectation from the lead actors. Sushant Singh Rajput who had won the heart of the audience in his lively performance in Kai po che is appearing in the lead role in this film. The titillating music of the film has been the work of Sachin – Jigar. Last week, the track Tere mere beech mein was released where Sushant was head over heels in love with his live in partner Parineeti Chopra. While we loved the romance, the film definitely needs some masala.

The latest song release of the film show that masala in plenty will be supplied by none other than the model turned actress Vaani Kapoor. In the song titled Gulabi, Sushant is all over the new actress. Vaani is the latest of the new launches under the banner of Yash Raj films. They have previously launched popular artists like Parineeti Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Sashesh Agha and Arjun Kapoor. Vaani has now joined this distinguished list. According to her own words, she had to undergo a grueling process to be selected for the film.

Vaani has done more than justice to her selectors as she looks delectable in pink, romancing with the cute looking Sushant Singh. Shudh desi romance is set in the background of the pink city of Jaipur where a love triangle flourishes between Sushant, Vaani and Parineeti. He song gulabi has nicely captured the sizzling chemistry between Sushant and Vaani. With her pink ensemble to match the song, the actress with her sharp features and mesmerizing smile looks gorgeous. The song even pays a tribute to the city with its lyrics which say,Shaam gulabi, sehar gulabi/ Pehar gulabi ya gulabi ye shehar hai…

The song is a beautiful composition by Jigar Saraiya and has been uplifted by the clear voice of Priya Saraiya. It accurately portrays the sizzling chemistry between Sushant Singh and Vaani in the picturesque locales of Rajasthan. Vaani, it has to be admitted, looks great in pink and the little boy charm of Sushant is as potent as ever. It remains to be seen whether the chemistry works as well for the entire film.

Shudh desi romance is directed by Maneesh Malhotra. This is his second venture after Band baaja baarat and is slated to be released on September 6th.

Ekta and Abhishek fallout over Great Expectations

Cousins Ekta Kapoor and Abhishek Kapoor, who were to collaborate on the Bollywood adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic Great Expectations, have had a fallout.

Talk in the trade circuit is that due to disagreements over budget and profit-sharing, Ekta will not be producing Fitoor, Abhishek's next directorial venture featuring Sushant Singh Rajput and Katrina Kaif.

It is indicated that Ekta felt that the cost of production that Abhishek had quoted was high. What's more, he had reportedly added 10-15% increase during the production stage as it's a period subject and some costs could escalate while filming. "Also, Gattu (as Abhishek is called by family and friends) asked Ekta for an equal share in the profit," says our source, adding that the producer suggested that they rope in another production partner.

However, the director declined the idea as that would decrease their share of profit. "Bringing in a third party in the venture would automatically see their profit go down as another producer would demand his share, which would have to be compensated from Ekta's and Abhishek's share," says our source.

Last heard, Ekta had let Abhishek approach another corporate to back his 'great expectations'. Incidentally, it was after six years since he turned director and had two hits (Rock On and Kai Po Che) in his kitty, that Abhishek was teaming up with producer-cousin Ekta. Last year,TOI had reported about the cousins collaborating for an intense love story.

While Abhishek didn't respond to our messages, Ekta replied saying, "Gattu's my brother! We will work together some other time. I wish him all the best. But as a company we have to take some hard decisions. We hope we get to collaborate in the future."
