Music composer Sachin Sanghvi, one half of the celebrated duo Sachin–Jigar, was taken into custody after being accused of sexual harassment by a 29-year-old woman. The incident quickly drew public attention, given Sachin’s long-standing reputation in the music industry. According to reports, Sachin was detained and later released on bail. His lawyer, Aditya Mithe, issued a statement asserting that the accusations were “completely baseless and unsubstantiated.” He added that the detention itself was unlawful, which is why his client was granted bail soon after. The legal team has stated that they plan to “defend all allegations fully and unequivocally.” So far, Sachin has not released any personal statement about the matter. His official Instagram handle, @soulfulsachin, has also been deactivated following the news.
A Journey Built on Melody and Experimentation
Sachin Sanghvi, alongside Jigar Saraiya, has been a vital part of Hindi film music for over a decade. The duo began their journey in 2009 with the film Life Partner and soon became known for their refreshing sound — a mix of soulful melodies and upbeat experimentation.
Before forming the duo, Sachin worked as an arranger and programmer with industry stalwarts like Pritam and A. R. Rahman. Over the years, Sachin–Jigar carved a niche by blending traditional Indian tunes with global sounds, giving rise to some of Bollywood’s most memorable tracks.
Their discography boasts hits from films like ABCD: Any Body Can Dance, Go Goa Gone, Shuddh Desi Romance, Badlapur, Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya. Their music often mirrors their philosophy — to make every day “World Music Day,” celebrating creativity and crediting the people behind the tunes.
Recent Work and Continued Legacy
Most recently, the duo composed the soundtrack for Maddock Films’ Thamma, released on Diwali this year. Songs such as Tum Mere Na Huye, Dilbar Ki Aankhon Ka, and Poison Baby have been climbing the charts, reaffirming their popularity among fans.
Despite the recent controversy surrounding Sachin, the duo’s musical legacy remains significant in shaping the sound of modern Hindi cinema.
