I can't believe you judge the character Purvi by her backless blouses. There is nothing wrong in it. Even some naked people look good. It is how they are perceived. Have you ever considered that your perception may be wrong?

No because I am not wrong
I have nothing against people who wear revealing clothes
But then don't preach others when they do something wrong
Have you ever considered Purvi is not a high society woman and an ordinary woman living in a chawl ?
Where nothing is safe ? If she was living in a safe place then heck I would never point a finger at her
But she is not driving in a car
She is going by rikshaws to places
And there are 100 people there who would look back twice
Why would I think it's wrong when my mom wears that sort of blouses to parties too
But my mom always covers herself with her sari if she was going to a market or places
And Purvi wears it for regular purposes
While interacting with thousands in the streets
That's wrong

India is a free country they can wear whatever they want
But then don't be a hypocrite and point finger at others 😆
If wearing backless blouses which gains the wrong sort of attention from
Men in the streets are okay , she should not point finger at punni when she had an affair with Mittal and she should also not point a finger at Ovi when she was drinking
If her dressing is her choice , then their life is their choice too
Now coming to the part about sanskaars and etc , I think , personally any clothing that gains the wrong sort of attention from unwanted people are immoral
When you're referring to people wearing cholis etc
They live in a place where it's common
Girls wear shorts here too , it doesn't mean it becomes good
Of course it's personal choice again
I wore them too
But guys themselves call those girls horrible thing who wear short shorts and tight shorts
Just because they are trendy , they don't become okay
Also keep in mind Purvi is no high society woman where it's alright
My mom wears sleeveless blouses
But she wouldn't wear that on streets of India or public places where people can look at her twice 😆

Yes, my friends do teach sanskars to their kids and follow it themselves. They do puja at home and follow Indian traditions even in the West.
Drinking is bad for ur health, Ovi is a drunkard or fast becoming one. Purvi didnt want Ovi to drink because she was pregnant. Now that is wrong also?
Really...that is too much. Thats why they say Kisiki bhalayi mat karo, ulta tumhara hi band bajega...😆 So u think drinking during pregnancy is okay? 😲
And guys shd decide or dictate whether women can wear a certain kind of blouses? 😲
Even the most chauvinistic guy in India wont object to backless blouses and saris, sari blouse are traditional dress of India.
Mini skirts and shorts are different, people will stare and pass comments if u wear those in India...because they are western dresses and they do look kind of vulgar.

Sleeveless blouses? Are u serious? Everybody wears sleeveless in summer in India...its a burning hot country! 😆

But branding backless blouses iimmoral just because Purvi is wearing them seems to be bashing cultural dress of many regions like Rajasthan.
Nobody comments or misbehaves if a woman wears sari blouse but they certainly will if u wear short frocks like Ovi does...😆

PS. so far I havent seen a single scene where Purvi is heckled or harassed by mawalis for wearing a backless blouse. Saris are the traditional dress in India and nobody bothers what kind of blouse ur wearing with it as long as its not a Kalidas style off the shoulder one.😆

Dear you fall into that trap, which is typical of Indian thinking. Let's blame Purvi for wearing a backless blouse, rather then the men that ogle her. She is simply showing a little of her back. I wear skirts (occasionally) in England, where I live. Is it my fault if men look at my legs?

Yes, dear, if anything Purvi's outfit looks old-fashioned like early 1900s style dressing.
In even older times, Bengali women didnt even wear blouses, only the gharoa style sari wrapped carefully to hide the chest. If you watch Satyajit Ray's Pather Panchali u will see the mother and grand aunt wearing saris without any blouse. Blouses were invented during British period imitating the blouses worn by British women.

Just because PR doesn't show her being harassed doesn't mean it doesn't happen
Like it or not but in the subcontinent of South Asia
There are all kinds of people who have different values , etc
My mom never allowed me to wear sleeveless in public where thousands of people could eye me
😆
Why should men decide what a woman should wear ? Of course not. It's you who should decide if wearing such clothes would obtain the wrong sort of attention
Are your friends living in chawl? Moving in public transport on India ? Shopping in bazaars ? If yes , then okay .
But in my culture , in my surroundings any clothing that obtains the wrong sort of attention is wrong
I have not ever been able to wear salwar suits without draping the dupatta around myself very well 😆

I would like to invite you to my surroundings here in England and show you that values and morals come from things other than clothing. Also, just a word of caution. You are sounding a little fundamentalist in your attitude. India is not Afghanistan and we should be happy about that!

All those who think it is immoral whatever purvi is wearing then what about OVI??! DAMN!! She always wears sleevless and short dresses and still thinks she is noble and good! What about dat!!
And she is not preacher please!! she just loves her family and wants them to be happy AND I THINK THAT IS HER BIGGEST MISTAKE! and acc to pallavi it is OLD fashion in bangal! so see she is still having morality!!

@ilovedhanjanird- sorry to say that but in this OVI gungan u have lost all your senses! seriously. i have seen all your comments u always bash purvi's character. u have seen from the beggining right. she always cares for others.. she think for others doesnt mean she cant be modern! and only those who were brought up in canada cant wear such type of dresses..even ppl brought up in mumbai can wear that! seriously limit of bashing purvi! seriously yaar stop it😔

About time Purvi minds her own business then right ?
Oh yeah she doesn't preach but she has the nerves to point fingers at punni for something that's immoral
Sorry but she isn't modern 😆
Being modern doesnt mean I have to attract all kinds of wrong attention
Ovi wears short dresses etc , but she doesn't do so called sacrifice
You've read all my comments ? Yeah right 😆
There have been MANY times I have supported Purvi over Ovi
I defend Ovi because now she is right
I never thought Purvi was wrong until the whole breast feeding fiasco
😆
See again a girl brought up in Mumbai has all rights to be modern
But wearing revealing clothing isn't modern
And if so enlighten me
If Ovi is bashed for drinking that's her personal choice
If punni is bashed for having an affair with a married man that's her personal choice too
Why did Purvi interfere in their lives ? Did they ask her to ? 😆
Who is Ovi to her ? Why does she need to think of her well being ?
She doesn't need to and she shouldn't
There is a fine difference between intentions and actions
So if Purvi shouldn't be bashed for wearing blouses that are revealing then Ovi shouldn't be bashed for drinking and Punni shouldn't be bashed for having an affair
It's THEIR personal choice
And if you are talking about trend here
I know many people who drink
That doesn't make it right
I know many people who are homewreckers
That doesn't make it right 😆

Depends on where u are living I suppose...in big cities like Mumbai or Kolkata, people dont bother abt what kind of blouses women are wearing with saris...even in chawls.
Ive seen maids in Kolkata wear fancy salwars and sari blouses, they live in slums but that doesnt mean they dont wear fashionable clothes bought with their hard-earned money.

Purvi IS a married lady and married ladies do have a certain respectability in India. Now if a young, unmarried girl wore backless blouses or revealing clothes, then definitely she will get harassed by mawalis.
Yes, we wear sleeveless blouses in India on streets, when we go shopping too, wore it 20 yrs ago when I was living there as well...nobody harassed me for wearing sleeveless blouses and saris in summer...because many women do wear it on streets and to markets. 😆
God, I cant believe even sleeveless is an issue here...😆
