He loves Ovi from childhood and has connections with her that makes him cross over and be intimate with her. I guess their shared childhood friendship does taht easily, that he can be intimate without being guilty. And at the same time, the novelty, hard to get thing about Purvi pulls him. This is why he desires both and probably confuses the hell out. If you ask me, I think Arjun will not be happy either now, with Ovi out of the picture, even if he marries Purvi. His character will be like that, lost between 2 women. In some sense, a wonderful story of a confused soul above societal norms. He was genuinely happy with Ovi too in the rain, played with her like a small child and then desired her. Although the whole thing was rushed😃, could have been done over 2 episodes...

Kalapi I wrote to similar lines in Ovi and leap topic...
many have claimed he never loved Ovi...Ovi's love was obsession and one sided ...But to me they had unique bonding extremely close childhood friends..With the link we watched the other day proves that...Today we saw the same bonding yet again...Men can be confused abt being in love with more than one woman...Could be the case...
Zen-Zem welcome to the forum 🤗...Your post made me 😆😉
Agree Arjun's effort bit too late though..😳

you guys have said it all! What a triumphant episode today for Ovi, my fav character!

Very well directed, superb episode and absolutely real and heart touching episode. It helped that there was no purvi in it...and it was centered around a mature husband-wife relationship, something purvi sadly has no head or tail of.

Shruti Kanwari deserves a standing ovation for the past months...Her acting has all the versatality and shades that an actress must have and does full justice to each emotion...Today, she made me cry with her portrayal of a helpless wife and a love that was wasted...Her inner pain was so well acted out, it was hard not to feel it along with her. She truly is my ⭐️ of the show. Character and actress both!

Also, I must applaud Rithvik for his acting today. He has never before been as convincing as a husband today...He really amped up his acting and reminded me why I liked him in the first place...I wish he continues this earlier streak and I can see enjoying his character more. I noticed that his effort and convincing acting, made me see Arjun differently too. With his earlier blank and helpess face, I simply felt nothing. But today, his emotions while feeling the pain watching the video or his romantic little scene with Ovi today in the rain, all made me feel for Arjun and realize he is nothing but a flawed and helpless character too. sincere acting makes all the difference in getting the character across for what he/she is.

Ovi, when leaving the house and listening to Arjun's pleas today, staring straight at him and without wincing telling her father to leave as she decided to stay, was brilliant. She was trying to search the truth and his need in his eyes for her, the willingness or the love one last time, and she listened to her heart as usual and stayed back, even if just to collect happy memories instead of the heartbreak for the past whole year that she had. As everyone said, Arjun looked like finally he was whole heartedly giving this marriage a shot and so so so glad that there was no purvi or her orders involved this time, not even a thought about her or some stupid mind FB.

The rain scene, they both seemed so happy , so genuinely happy for once in that rain. They got a nice romantic number finally ( a bit too late) and their carefree bonding like friends and finally husband-wife was a very very well directed scene. I liked Arjun taking lead for Ovi for once. I liked him initiating the closeness or intimacy and brining her closer. It looked like a genuine attempt to keep his wife and marriage and give himself a chance at happiness too. I don't believe in the fact that if a man truly loves someone else he is not able to consummate with his wife, as most people say that on the forum about him. Yes, when he did it on purvi's orders, it was disgusting and pathetic, but today, it was genuine, as he looked like finally taking a step himself to his life and his marriage. The arjun that consummated with purvi in that shack was a young in love hormonally impulse lover and today this arjun was a mature, come of age, and finally a husband who understood what his wife meant to his life. This was maturity ( not the consummation but the understanding of his wife's importance) that was needed a year back after Purvi left town. I felt heartbroken that this realization in Arjun for Ovi's importance adn need in his life, came so late to him. So late that there is no return anymore for her into his life. I really felt they both would have made a wonderful and apt pair if this Arjun had come of age earlier. She loves him unconditionally and we know that he is capable of unconditional love himself. She compliments his young, naive, vulnerable and chauvinistic self with her own personality that is not perfect or claims to be golden girl. She has flaws and he has flaws and that is why they are so perfect together if Arjun was this Arjun a year back. They would have had a perfectly understanding and successful marriage if Purvi had not been the third wheel long back.

Today, after he wakes up, his subconscious calling out to Ovi, his wanting to see her first thing in the morning, his conversation with his dad, heck even his clothes and his relaxed self was a glimpse of the old Arjun, the one that had come from Canada. I always say Purvi grounded him and I won't take that away from her, but her love left inside him a vaccum that slowly inhaled him inside until only cinders were left of himself. Today, I saw the person he used to be in a glimpse of his morning scene and really I felt horrible. I can't beleive that I felt bad for Arjun. Really bad. and I agree with Kalapi, and Kools and Di, that DK failed Arjun as a father. DK was as non-chalant about bidding Ovi goodbye as he was when she decided to stay and also same reaction when he heard that she left with a suitcase. Arjun has always missed his mom and with good reason. Ashna being there would have made a world of a difference. Maybe she would have supported his decision to be with purvi ( archu jaap-er) but she had enough sense to know how an unloving and unfulfilled marriage feels like and she would have made that difference to his married life with Ovi. It would have never come to this stage.

The guys has lost his all, thanks to his blind unconditional love for Purvi, just as Ovi has lost her all thanks to her love for Arjun. Both, I feel sorry for today and I hope both get enough sense to move on and make something more worthy of their lives.

As for Ovi, her last video was the best part of today's episode. This girl has grown so much, it is unbelievable. It is almost unreal that a character in PR, has been shown to have such a tremendous growth and depth to them. She was outstanding in her dialogue to Arjun today. Her unconditional love was evident, as was her, maturity at finally seeing the situation as it was. She apologized to Arjun for causing him pain and that is her strenght as a person and a sign of how much she loves Arjun. She set him free, not just for herself but for him too. If she was labeled selfish for her deal, she has come to the point of being selflessly loving Arjun to the point that she moved out of his life and will be ok if he re-unites with Purvi. She understood sacrificing Pari was a big deal for Arjun, she acknowledged his sacrifices to make the marriage work and her happy (even though we did not see it at all) and that speaks volumes of how much she loved him versus how Purvi treats him. Purvi has never felt bad for Arjun, has never gained realization of what she made him do and what his life has come to because of listening to her. Ovi, gave him that understanding today, that she realized was important to cementing their broken pieces. She understands the heartbreak he has had, and she understands the heartbreak he has caused her. Not once does she blame him, accuses him or taunts him. She simply states what she saw, a love for Purvi, a compromise for her, and a self-respect that was lost in both of them. She played the wife today and the unconditional lover both to the T. The wife who realizes the sacrifices the husband has done, the effort he has put in this marriage and the realization of an unhappy marriage where she lost all her self-respect, even though she did not seem to regret it. She infact took in her stride. As a lover, she saw that he had given her pain, heartbreak and an irreparable loss. I loved that she said she wanted memories that would strenghten her and not the pain and that;s why she stayed back. Her acknowledgement of her own mistakes as well as appreciating whatever tiny effort he did as husband is what makes her so real and so unlike Purvi. Ovi touched my heart today with her honest, real and extremely loving confession. As a mother, she felt the pain of that dead child even now. Her mamta does not have an on off switch even for a child that is no more.

I think, Arjun realized it today how much Ovi did for him and how much Ovi meant to him. He seemed to realize the mistake he has made in his marriage and how he left her broken and shattered ( at least from his expressions) I want him to do justice to his own character now and as well as Ovi's. I want him to re-surrect himself too. I want him to gain that insight into the difference of an Ovi and a Purvi in his life, one who brought him down and inhaled his soul and one who always stood by to uplift it and be the shoulder that he needed when falling down. Make that distinction and give it back to Purvi, so she knows he is no fool anymore. There has to be realization on Arjun's part now to make his character redeem himself. This boy has so much potential, time they mended him now. There were glimpses today and I hope that CV's do justice to him too now.

Ovi's decision was applaud worthy. A woman has to be strong to make this decision and stronger when it is about leaving the man you love because you realize he doesn't love you. It is so so so hard to let go like this. Ovi is strong and takes decisions for herself, but atleast that is what everyone usually does. Her decisions are for herself and she does not think to make them on behalf of other people or their lives. This makes me love her, that she does what is best for her and sticks by them. No flippy floppy and no nonsense attitude. I am very eagerly waiting her track now to see where she goes from this crossroads. A career and a new man or a career and her baby with Arjun. Either way, now I know, what she decides will be mature and a thought out decision.

As for future track, I guess baby is inevitable. Every sex scene in shows leads to babies and it is always going to be an open track whenever CV's need to add twist or masala. As for aRVI getting closer, I think this track is headed for a Silsila. I think they will get closer to take care of Pari ( although why they should since Onir is all willing to be dad, is beyond me) but they will for carrots dangling purposes, and Onir will finally see his fate as a perpetual third wheel and let Purvi go, as he has loved her unconditionally too. Very soon, I am bound to see realization, hopelessness and helplessness in his eyes too. He will see what he has lost in love, his career, his self-respect, his life thrown away carelessly and nothing but a floor and the same roof as wife to boot. He is going to set his mishti free, ( as cutting off the poison is the first step to regaining health back) and this mishti is going to reject the idea of Arjun as soon as she realizes what Onir means to her. Arjun ,after this consummation scene with Ovi, it is hard to think that Purvi and he will get back together. There is no pavitrata in that love anymore as he willingly and happily showed his feelings for Ovi today. There is no way there is going to a re-union. Simply dangling carrots to make sure they don't lose some audience. He will realize his love for Ovi too and bring her back with the baby, if she has one and there is no man in her life.

I do think that if Arjun comes to full realization ( that is he sees Purvi for what she is, mainly not as a bad person or whatever, but mainly as the poisoned love that ate him away and the selfish and immature love they had and the fact that she has looted his self-respect, and even buried his dead baby without a thought for the parents ) and shows the door to Purvi, and has a confrontation scene with her where he brings these points to her face, sunaoes her about the loss of their baby and their right to mourn as parents, about keeping pari;s info secret from him, about always using him as bait for her next mahaanta, always keeping him on her leash while happily romancing her husband..all this I want to hear him accuse her of. This will bring high TRP's won't it? I think any high drama between leads makes for high TRP. This will be his redeeming factor in my eyes. Simple realization of Purvi, the way Ovi realized Arjun in her life.

Very interesting twist CV's have given by giving Ovi all the reigns of hr destiny in her hand and also making her the shining character of PR as of now. Too happy with them for that! Awaiting her track now. Manav, has been a dad to Ovi in the past one month, sometihng Archana has done for neither of her kids. Manav takes the cake in being a caring parent, much more than Archana does. The parents are all so screwed up, you simply feel sorry for all the kids because of the messed up upbringing, whether it is Soham, Sachin, twins or Purvi.

My dear Tejaswini,

Aap bulayein aur ham na aayein, yeh kabhi ho sakta hai kya? So here I am, though my eyes, which were dilated for a retina check up, are not back to normal yet and my vision is thus not clear. Still, as you want my comments, I will give it a shot, and if there are typos, you will know why.

Today the whole of PR belonged to Ovi. Not just the intensely moving farewell message, which was surprisingly well written, and very well delivered by Shruti, but also the calm sadness with which she tells Arjun the previous evening, that she was living in a dream world, and koyi baharwala aaya aur sab toot gaya. No anger, no bitterness, just a deep and lucid sadness. It was, in more senses than one, a coming of age for her.

It was the same with the farewell message. Though I would have preferred it if she had not given Arjun so much unalloyed credit for trying to make the marriage work, I could understand her decision to avoid even a single harsh note in what was, in her mind, the final goodbye to the man she has always loved and still loves very, very much. She says as much in the video, with a simple candour that is untainted by any tinge of ego or any need to get back at him.

She stays back for that one night because after listening to Arjun's desperate pleas to her to stay and his frantic explanations of how he was never unfaithful to her (technically only, but let that pass), she knows that he will make a special effort to woo her back, and she wants to be so wooed.

It is the deepest desire of her heart to have him care for her and need her for real, and perhaps she hopes, after listening to his desperation, and learning that he has given up Pari as well, that maybe, just maybe, he really wants her at long last (she thinks that he gave up Pari to persuade her to stay. I do not agree, for it was a case of force majeure. But what matters here is what Ovi believes. and not what I or we believe, even if we are right and she is wrong).

I would not fault for not having stuck to her original decision to leave with Manav. nor for having had that night with Arjun, for her reasons for doing both are the same, as per my understanding, as outlined above, and they are perfectly valid as seen thru her eyes.

When she leaves in the end, it was, I think. because she realises that while Arjun is trying the hardest he can to make things the way she would want it, it is still an act and not the real thing. She has, finally, grown up enough to understand the difference between what she wants and what she can get. and she is ready to walk out rather than settle for false coin, no matter that it is gilded.

If only she had seen things this clearly a year ago! She might have spared herself and others a great deal of unnecessary misery. But when things are fated to go one way, they go that way.

True to the PR rule re: babies, there is going to be another Arjun-Ovi baby on the way soon, that is a dead cert. All those claiming that the stillborn baby was not Arjun's (not that I ever understood how that would help bring their beloved amar premis together again, seeing that Onir is still among the living) because they had not shown them having a roll on satin sheets, will now have to eat their words, for this time it was all shown beyond any doubt, of course in a discreet fade out. Alas for the ArVi hopefuls!

It remains to be seen how things are developed from now on, including how Ovi manages to have the baby and earn her living as well. She will have 4 or 5 months to build up a nest egg before the baby claims her wholly, and perhaps that is what they will show happening.

However, one thing is certain, the CVs have decided to give Ovi's character an unambiguously positive spin. At one fell swoop, by having her clear the path for Arjun and Purvi to get together again if they want it (for Onir will let Purvi go the minute he senses that she wants that; that she won't is another matter altogether), they have wiped the slate clean for her.

Her serious mistakes and her follies of the past have been atoned for in this one act - of acknowledging the thing about which she was always in denial, that she could never achieve with Arjun the degree of closeness that he has with Purvi - and setting Arjun free.

And as I wrote once, of Soham can be so readily forgiven serious crimes like kidnapping and extortion, I fail to see why Ovi should be given no credit for the distance she has come from her earlier avatar.

Two days ago, I wrote on another thread:

I was pleased that Ovi had become practical, and had started thinking of something other than Arjun and motherhood. To my mind neither a man nor a child can be the be all and end all of a woman's life, to the exclusion of all else. It is a capital mistake to let this kind of mindset develop, for it cripples you, and does the man and the kid(s) no good either. As I noted, Ovi has come to this realisation far too late to go any good to anyone but herself, but...I for one hope she does not go back to Arjun, and gets a divorce, so that she is again marketable, and then sees what life has to offer her other than men and matrimony.

Today, she has done the first, and even if she does not say so explicitly, the second is implicit in her farewell to him. But what I did not anticipate was that she would carry away with her an ansh of her only love.

This is, on second thoughts, as it should be. Ovi, as I have always asserted, is a one man woman, and even if she does not get her man, she will now have something even better. Something that will be part of him but will belong to her alone, and will reciprocate her love as Arjun could never have done. Against this prospect. who are we to cavil and quibble?

Kools, I do not quite agree with your take on Arjun today - to me he seemed and sounded more frantic, for whatever reason, than convincing - but that hardly matters.

I would like to shift gear and end on a light note. I did not find anything much to make fun of today, but there were a couple of titbits.

_ HOW does Ovi prance around on that slippery ground in such very high heels?

- Manav looks on the verge of delivering all the slaps that Arjun had escaped at the anniversary party.

- Onir's friend, who declares that he has full faith in him - was shown making incomprehensible references to his believing that Onir could never be guilty of organ trafficking, The CVs, evidently exhausted by their labours on Ovi's farewell message, have clearly mixed up their cue sheets😉, for last I heard, he had been held guilty of baby swapping, not organ trafficking.

Ah yes, the high point of today's episode. We did not have to see Purvi at all, and thus were spared the ghastly wigs and all the rest.

Now howzzat? Up to the mark?

Shyamala Aunty

where is shyamala aunty today? im dying to read her take of today's beautiful chaos that was ovi. whatever arjun or purvi or onir do is just not a concern for me. they said in the long ago article that ovi will leave and arvi will come closer...its fine even if they reunite but ovi should not involve herself in all this. she talked about her self-respect today and i sincerely hope she keeps that up. she is 100% manav's chaya (before he became a JKL post 18 years leap) with the best qualities of archana. thats the daughter whose story i want to follow.

Kalapi,

I loved this post of yours. I know exactly what you mean. I have seen it around me too, more in women though, although according to sterotype and societal norms, you would think men are more likely. It is absurd when you try to think in their shoes. I would never be able to love 2 men in different ways at the same time, it seems impossible to me, but then I haven't met any man before my husband in the love sense to know if it could happen. But, for Arjun, I do believe that his love for Ovi has been in a state of inertia. He always loved her, probably not the passionate, or intensely romantic and intimate love that he had for Purvi, but the more comfortable, caring and an easy love that simply happens when you grow up together. It may not have the romance or the intense lover passion, but it is love, the same warm fuzzy love that makes you a better person and that makes you happy. He had not realized this love until today;s episode, and that scene in the rain showed what he truly felt for his wife and his childhood best friend. They have so many memories and so much past attached to them, but a whirlwind romance with Purvi overshadowed all his other relationships. This passionate intimate love is what happens at a younger age with someone who is physically exciting for you, someone who makes you chase them ( not easy), somenoe who is a challenge so getting their reciprocation is a huge high and makes it even more intense. She was novelty to him, a chase, a challenge and ofcourse exciting. He was young and immature and ofcourse immediately attracted to someone who was nothing like he had seen before in his life in Canada.

Ovi has always been a comfort zone, a person he has always had around, never having the possibility of losing in his life and never the frightening prospect of her not being around for him, Today, when he saw that happening, his love for her surfaced again, after all that rust and junk that purvi's had placed. It was genuine, it was back to old comfort zone for both and a truly caring and nurturing relationship that has always been so from childhood.

It is hard to explain and probably even feel sorry for Arjun to be in this place, but it is not impossible for him to lvoe both of them in his own way for different reasons. But one cannot do this simulataneously and even though he may always have a spot for purvi in his heart, it has to be a dormant and submerged feeling, one that is buried and can never be retrieved to full bloom. This is the only possible way his love for Ovi can remain constant. But the problem with him his, seeing her around all the time, with a child to share now, love for ovi will always be in tandem with his love for purvi. Which is not ok for any wife and for arjun himself to be totally happy.

If he had married Purvi that time, year back, his love for Ovi would have probably been dormant and buried for good, but this one year of marriage, a dead baby and her recent trauma, will always keep her flame alive for him now, even if it is only because of guilt.

Sad situation for him, but he must now choose to bury one love.
