Down nostalgia lane with Arjun Kirloskar - Page 2

Ahh. U took me back in time to those glorious days of Arjun. I did read those writeups back then and loved them. All ur writeups where so heartfelt then, but there are a few that I really love, one was the chawl meal scene (remember the purple dress), Archana's challenge and her beige nails (courtesy of bee:) ), the bridge proposal rain night (chalaa jaaonga main) and many more... Werent we right when we insistently argued with the APP, esp Jhanvi, about Purvi's commitment to Arjun. We had maintained that she was the one who was loved whereas it was Arjun who always loved. Unknown to us, how right we were !!! We had always hoped that she would stand by him and were never completely sure. How right we were in that too..
There were many instances when some of Arjun's scenes were so heartfelt and natural that Rithvik and Arjun became one to us. For me, he was always a better actor between the two, although Asha had her finer moments too. I guess I can go on like this for a while, but I know you understand what I mean. It is such a tragedy the way the story went downhill after that drasted wedding. Whoever came up with these idiotic tracks of ovi wedding, these pregnancies, baby swappin needs to have their head examined. It is amazing that people who could write the arvi story so beautifully back then, could also write such drivel now. What is their definition of Pavitra Rishta now, I wonder !
I doubt if it is remotely possible for Arjun to have such good intense scenes again, for Rithvik would surpass himslef given a chance, but in this current crap that is shown, there is no place for anything except the nonsense melodrama of the ladies..
Anyway, let me quit before I get more maudlin...:).

It is lovely to see you here. As you saw, after a long gap, I had to do that redemption post after watching PR the last week, and today I similarly had to put this one out because of sheer nostalgia. Now I am getting back to my hibernation, as my wonky wrist is about to collapse from too much typing.

I have commented at length on your excellent post in bonibright's thread, so I will avoid any further lamentations here, or we will both become maudlin, and to no useful purpose! And your advice re: my wrist is spot on and very timely, so from tomorrow, that is precisely what I shall do, no matter WHAT happens in PR, even if Purvi does a Varsha on Ms. Kirloskar!

Now that is a thought, you know.Another friend had suggested to me, as a possible explanation for the seemingly strange commitment that Manav gets from Onir, that Purvi might become mentally imbalanced because of her longing for the child.Well, it is a very plausible theory, and if this does happen, then the CVs, who love rehashing old tracks, might do exactly what I have outlined above.

Of course not just yet, but after the baby comes out of the incubator. What a wealth of new options this would offer the CVs! Plus Asha can burnish her acting credentials by trying her hand at playing a mentally imbalanced woman. I hope she does not go overboard with it. Poor Onir (I call him that these days) will have to locate a good psychiatrist for his mishti, so as to keep her out of both jail and an asylum. 😉

I am beginning to fall in love with this possible track!

Never were truer words said of Arjun's love for Purvi..It maybe termed as foolish, weakness right now by some, but that is how Arjun is.. All or None..

To be loved like this - so deeply and passionately, and yet with such unselfishness and demanding absolutely nothing in return - is something that very, very few mortals get, and it is something for which one should thank God on one's knees. Whatever happens to them in the future, whatever the heartache and loss they have to go through, the realisation of this love will stay with her and warm her heart. And I hope the realisation that she has been granted something very rare and precious will make her trust him implicitly and not make life more difficult for him when the storms that lie ahead start blowing in gale force. She should stand by him, and be his strength, not his weakness.

Nice Post Shyamala ji, Its really sad to see Arjun these days that I am not even intrested in Purvi's life these days, She Gave up Arjun and her baby just for her mahanta and she always think she is right , now I reall y hope if she fell in love with Onir he some how gave her up for some mahanta then may be she will realise other ppl pain,

How have you been?
Reading these old posts of yours made me nostalgic as well. The good old times when Arjun and Purvi were realizing their feelings. I have to say that was my favorite time of P.R., since their characters were yet to butchered. Today how I pine for the return of that Arjun and the old Purvi I found parts of me in. How sad it is that the essences of morality and reality are removed for the sake of prolonging a serial for another couple months.

Of course I understand. I understand you very well.

I thought I had sent you a post last night, but it seems to be nowhere here, so let me try again. I am so glad that you liked this post, for I wanted you young people to know how we, the older lot, felt about Arjun as he was in the beginning. You might not know this, but we even set up a Protect Arjun Project, and we made it very active too!

I can see that your heart is set on Arjun and Purvi getting back, and for your sakes I hope that comes about.

But, though I do not want to sound like the Grinch who stole Christmas, it is a fact that, as Pari noted elsewhere, and as notsurewhy has noted here, neither of them is the same as in April 2012, especially Purvi.

She might not love Onir, theirs might not be a normal marriage, but there is a lot that they have between them, and especially on Purvi's side: deep gratitude, a sense of belonging together that was so evident this week, and her dependence on him for tackling any problem. I am sure he would let her go at once if that was what she wanted. What I am not at all sure of now is whether she would want it, even if Ovi released Arjun and Onir let her go. It would not gel with her sanskaari self-image, and for people like Purvi, the self-image is very important. They have to feel good about themselves, and I do not think she will feel good ditching Onir. So, for Arjun and Purvi to get back as before would be, as I used to say often after their parting of the ways, like repairing broken porcelain. Do it as finely as you might, the cracks will still show.

Still, there is nothing the CVs cannot fix, and just to make you happy, let us hope that they do end up together, with their baby in tow!

If shakti leading character then not this PR? Need another serial who is only lead character not also there include RD. If Arjun not lead character then why they saw us Arjun is lead character & making loving him too much. This is totally unfair. We want ARVI back & firstly restore Arjun first like a man whom we have seen before. No more waste RD talent. He faces many problem his life. Very first he lost mother. After that when he find actual love with Purvi then she reject that marriage. Because her true love Purvi also face same problem when her sister ovi deal their mother love. Purvi is orphan that why she easily trap that deal.Purvi feels that she owes so much to the Deshmukhs.. Primarily Archana since she gave her a home and love even though she was an orphan. When she was with Archana these 18 years all Archu talked about was how much she wanted her family back.. Now that her family is back she somehow feels obligated to make sure they are always happy.. She always blames herself for Ovi's unhappiness...

After that all time ovi's bad behavior Purvi forced to leave Bombay. Later we know that Purvi was pregnant that time. So she avoid this painful things. From the start Purvi is thinking about Archu's happiness. Purvi doesn't want any more sadness in Archu's life even it is through Ovi's health state.

After 6 moths when no one know Purvi's whereabout then both ARMAN find Purvi at kolkata & also know that she married. Also know that onir is her husband. They try to onir treatment ovi but onir refused. But Purvi help her parents. Purvi doing all these to keep Archu happy. Purvi is exact replica of Archu. so correcting her is not so easy. Manav also not any time stand Arjun & Purvi. For Ovi he is using other. when Purvi loved Arjun, it was very sinful for him. but when Purvi sacrificed her love and mother for Ovi, he felt its great and said goodbye. he talks caring about Purvi to Archu but never stood by Purvi's side when it comes Ovi or Purvi. He stands by Ovi, even though he knows Ovi is wrong. Manav now thinks about Purvi because his doll Ovi's life is in Purvi's husband hand. they had Purvi's address in hand. why Manav use his influence to find Purvi?

If Purvi is not orphan then all D family very much concern to her. But ovi is their blood so they too much concern her but not Purvi. That why all time Purvi thinking that family. I am 100% sure if any family member know that ovi's baby died then they demand to Purvi handover her baby to ovi. This CVs all time try to prove that Once an orphan always an orphan. This serial all time try to prove that Evil always wins, The loser. She lost her family, baby and love. That why I am not able to angry Purvi for her baby donation.

That why Purvi is not able to stand Arjun. Arjun all time try to stand by Purvi
through thick and thin. They all time feelings each other. They not forget any moment each other.

Both Arjun & Purvi face huge suffer for loving each other. Their love is pure love. They made each other. No other person not understand their properly anytime. We all time saw that how ARVI feeling each other. Enough is enough.

Ovi is to be blamed for all the happenings in her life. She blackmailed and schemed to get what she wanted & thus, is the reason why Purvi and Arjun aren't together!

Now this is the right time to Baby's truth revealed & united each other for their baby sake. Also true love sake ARVI need united this time.

Shyamala Aunty after reading your view I think that may be U mention me that I am worshiped Purvi till now after her wrong doing. U are mention that Purvi destroy both Arjun & onir life, so how I worshiped Purvi. This is totally wrong. I am like too much both Arjun & Purvi but not worshiped. Like or love & worshiped are totally different. You are senior of all us so U very well know that what the different between love & worshiped. I am still angry why Purvi reject Arjun to married last moment. I am still angry why she not mention her actual pregnancy to any family member especially her grandmother/mother/Arjun & after her baby donation. This is totally stupid decision. But my post I also mention that why Purvi step this decision & why I am not angry her stupid & wrong decision. I hope that U understands my point of my post. I am totally surprised that how Ekta & her CVs totally destroy Arjun & Purvi character. Their character was too much innocent. But now many people hate their character too much hate for present scenario. But they very well know that why their character butchered. This is unfair. This is true that onir is good person but I don't like him. I don't like any person who is between ARVI lives. I am still I believe both ARVI made each other. No ARVI happy if they are not lives each others. They are still missing each other. Many people say that both ARVI need get tight punishment for destroy ovi & onir life. But U very well knows that this messing is created only ovi for her obsession Arjun. If ovi not wanted to deal her mother love with Purvi then this present scenario may be not created. In onir case when onir want to marriage Purvi rejects that proposal. After his comment she decided to marriage but only her baby sake. That time Purvi wanted to tell onir her past life but he not interested that time. So U tells me what the fault of Purvi this step. I also angry why Purvi marriage onir when she loves Arjun vary much & also told to Arjun that she never forget him. But also true that why she marriage onir. May be U told that before marriage their sex is sin. Yes, I am also agreeing this point. But U knows that no men in this world are perfect. All men/women are sinner. Purvi regret that sin that why she not able to share any family member. Arjun not remember anything till now. He still now not clue that this baby is his not onir. U is senior of all us. When Arjun separate by Purvi his life are totally messing. Also Purvi get punishment her sin of not marriage Arjun & stay away her family her critical moment. Also she faces punishment for her baby donation work when her baby is not with her. She all time stay with her baby but not able to stay. So U tells me what type of punishment need to Purvi. But when Arjun knows the truth I want that Arjun burst his anger to Purvi. His anger will be that type when we saw his arrogant businessman. If Arjun slapped to Purvi I don't mind.

But this baby sake obviously need to ARVI united. If onir is not marriage Purvi but only her good friend like Satish then I respect him. Otherwise he not deserved any respect of my side.
