And to add to it, she has NOT ONCE acknowledged that Purvi loved Arjun. She has consistently claimed that Purvi "trapped" Arjun. Delusional as well.

@bold: Very well said! Agree completely.

All her nice behavior is only when she gets what she wants. Selfish to the CORE.
Disgusting character.

I agree to all the points.

I haven't watched last 2 episodes, so some of the things were 'news' to me.

About Arjun standing right of Purvi and Onir left - Was he not standing Right of Ovi too? What would that mean then?

Bee, I am sure it is of no significance which side Onir was on, it was just a poke at the CVs.

To add to you character analysis...

Purvi - is a few gray cells short at this time. She owes nothing to anyone but to Onir. My POV. If Arjun did not even wonder if there were consequences to their encounter and blithely moves on, he does not deserve to know.
Arjun - the weakling he has always been when it comes to matters of his own heart.
Onir - so far has been consisent in his character. Overall nice guy till the CVs do a number on him. And they will.
Ovi - so far consistent in being selfish. I do not subscribe to the theory that because she is openly selfish she is to be admired. she has not once seen any fault in her own behaviour.

The rest of the cast is as usual clueless except Punni. She has a brain...

Strega, you nailed it - every single one of the characters :)

Agree with your analysis of Ovi in the first post but much much more so with this one.

Purvi is going get a gift from Archana on her baby shower..I guess a diamond necklace ( showed in SBS) so Purvi will sell that to pay the money for blackmailer is asking for and CVs will show all this Purvi doing this all by herself who is almost eight month pregnant.

CVs will drag the track of Arjun knowing aabout his baby...

Hi Janhvi.. Great post.. U dissected each character perfectly.. What a mess they are in!
im only hoping that d priest's blessings to ArVi wer of certain significance n indicates that they unite sum time soon! (umeed pe tho duniya kayam hai!)

And I always wanted that Arjun would get to knw the truth abt Purvi's preg from Purvi itself.. It should be their moment.. Not thro sum sanskaar wala lecture from archana or thro more shrieking frm ovi..(that will happen eventually) So I wish Purvi goes to Arjun for d 3 lacs.. Or that somehow he overhears her convo n offers to help, n she has to tell him d truth..

Abi, I don't think Onir will ask Arjun for treatment fees and Purvi is not the sort to let him charge her darling sister for professional services. More likely the strong (foolhardy) girl who prides herself on taking care of business with no one's help will go about procuring that money by herself.

Shalini's post hints that this is exactly what will happen. I missed that diamond necklace bit on the SBS.

Aside: the strong girl is showing signs of depending on Onir. Never in her life has she ever relied on another person but for the first time, she is letting Onir do the worrying and planning for her (baby delivery). Does this portend that their marriage is going to be for keeps and that she is falling for her husband? OR is it the calm before the storm to show her totally dependent on him only to pull the rug from under her feet when (if) Onir turns negative?

My poor Janhvi,

I do not watch Qubool Hai, nor do I plan to, but since you have that sensible alternative, it might be better to shift there for keeps, don't you think? You folks - Archana, you, and perhaps others from among my favourite girls - write these posts and drag me back here to make the same comments that I have made dozens of times in the recent past. 😉

Nothing you write can ever be other than fresh and appealing, and since you are, like me, an apostate and an exile from the APP-PAP groupings, you are also reasonably fair, and do not want to consign everyone except Arjun and Purvi to jahannum. You are almost an exception these days in that respect; I wrote a response to you on the What is More Important thread that summed up what the common approach is like these days; I do not know if you read it at all.

There is no balance and rationality to be found here any more. There are only fanatic followers of one character or the other, and for them, their ishta devatas are all that matter, and the rest be damned. Whence the wishful speculation about Onir's supposedly shady past, which Kools nailed with pitiless clarity, but that will change nothing. Those who want to dispose of Onir pronto so that Arjun and Purvi can get together whatever the cost to others will be unfazed.

The same goes for Ovi's baby, which I firmly believe is Arjun's as well. As I wrote to you in the above-mentioned response,
I find it very revealing that amidst all this profusion of concern here for the genus baby, in fact it is only Purvi's baby that is the focus of concern, whereas Ovi's baby is either contemptuously dismissed as not being Arjun's (a facile, if ugly premise that says more about those propounding it than anything else) or else simply brushed aside as not deserving of paternal love and caring because of its folly in being born to such an unpopular mother.

You want Ovi not to get away scot free. Fair enough. I have written much harsher stuff about her before I dropped out of this forum. But what then about Purvi, who has put paid to one of the two men foolish enough to have fallen in love with her, Arjun, and is going to hurt the other one badly? Why should she get away scotfree? Where has she suffered, till now, even a jot of the ignominy and shame which, under normal circumstances, would have been the lot of a single mother in a conservative society like India?

But this is NOT what I have against her. It is rather that Purvi takes and takes and takes, but she gives nothing. Yesterday, she does not even pray for the wellbeing of the man who has stood and stands by her like a rock, without the least thought of any reward. Why does she not have a wish for Onir as well when she prays for Arjun and Ovi? Does he not deserve even that? And it is not as though there is a limit on the number if wishes she can make!

She does not pray for Onir because she cares nothing for him except as an escape route and a protector. All that talk and the doe eyes that she makes at him are all hogwash. It was her failure to pray for him to Bappa that revealed her real feelings towards him.

She asks Onir whether he wants the truth about her baby to be revealed, as if he had created the problem in the first place, and it was not due to the sudden slippage of her sanskaars, and that too in a dirty, wet shack,ugh.. (no, no, I do not mean that it would have been more acceptable is there had been linen sheets!😉)Which other girl in her circumstances would have got off so lightly, and landed such an infinitely compliant and caring husband like Onir to twist round her little finger? Only one in Mills and Boon and of course PR. Now she will go and cry on his shoulder and ask him to produce the 3 lakhs. Serve him right for having got involved with this Circe.

Well, here I am on the same old track, and I shall desist, with only one more comment. I want Purvi's little secret to be exposed, and then I want to see what her doting aai and aaji have to say about this momentous discovery. I am not here concerned about the morality of Purvi having a fling on the floorboards ( a change from the traditional roll in the hay!), but about their take on this transgression against their precious sanskaars and their faultless parvarish.

After that, Onir can make a grand mahaanatam tyaag, trumping the tyaag queens at their own game, and head back to his grateful patients in Kolkatta, Ovi and baby can die in a miscarriage brought about by the shock, and the whole lot of 'committed' ArVi fans can rejoice.

Most important, PR can then close down, finally liberating you and me and all the others like us who are, right now, in the same unenviable position as the Trishanku of legend.

Purvi - serve you right, Ms. Goody Two Shoes. You are in a soup now and a pretty hot and murky one at that! How do you propose getting out of this? Ask Manav baba for help to save his daughter's (Ovi's) marriage? Ask Onir to sell his lovely Kolkatta bungalow to fund the blackmailer? This way, Onir can become a permanent fixture at the K household. Ask Soham to help track the blackmailer and send the poor guy back to jail because he inadvertently murdered the blackmailer? Whatever it is that you are planning to do, do it with a cool head like that Purvi of old and not like this mahaanta creature you have become. Good luck!

Arjun - yucks, hugging wife, putting your hand on her knee, praying for her well-being (and of course, the all important baccha) and then making doe, sorry buck, eyes at Purvi? Get a grip, please.

Ovi - Praying for your perfect life now that you think you have your husband in the palm of your hand? Hmm, a house built on cards will surely come crashing down. I wonder how long this charade of goodness will last, as long as things are going your way, I guess. (BTW, you missed the eyelock, that would have put you out of your high spirits in a jiffy)

Onir - is a goner. Arjun did not pray for himself at the same (?) temple after the confession because he thought Shivji had given him Purvi. Well, she went a slipping from him like butter in a hot pan! Onir is making the very same mistake, not asking anything for himself because Purvi is in his life, wants only her welfare and her baccha's welfare. Good doctor, your wife is like the willow of the wisp, she might disappear from your life in an instant if you do not hang on tightly to what you think is yours.

The only difference between Arjun then and Onir now, Arjun was on the right side of Purvi at the Shivji mandir, this time around Onir is on her left side. Is this a subtle hint that things could be different this time around or did the CVs just forget to adhere to the minute detail of placing Onir on the same side as where Arjun found himself last?

Baba/Priest - felt bad for him, poor misguided man, blessed Purvi and Arjun's jodi and their baby but was quick to give the same blessing to Ovi and Arjun and "their" baby. Which blessing will come true? Which baby is Arjun's? Is this a hint that both are in fact his? Including Ovi's? What chance of an ARVI reunion if Purvi herself is praying for Arjun & Ovi's rishta? The blessing to Ovi from the priest was after the blessing to Purvi. Does this indicate the first relationship is over and the second one has well and truly begun? Or are the CVs just leading us a merry dance, ring, ring a roses?

Punni - is Nemesis catching up with her at last? Poor girl. Can she get outwitted and outsmarted by the sleazy Mittal?

Last but not the least, the blackmailer - he sounded like Purvi's ex-boss the man that had hired Purvi to get back at Arjun.

We are in on this ride, sadly cannot quit midway.
