Pari, even in the West there are consequences to premarital sex..if a girl in HS get preggo, her life is ruined as she not only have to take the responsiblility of the child, but most often her education is compromised. I have seen in coworkers who have to support kids and lament about their future. Same true for unwed mom working and single parenting - it isn't easy...cause the responsibility of raise a child isn't easy...most parent teached kids not only about sex but the consequences here - nowhere, it is easy, raising a kid single-handedly - maybe Western Society is a bit more tolerant - but there are other issues here too...Kools, thank you for the KC today! Aaj ka episode was so dhamakedaar that only you could have done justice to how we felt about it! :P
Zamaana has not changed much. If people step outside PR and see the world and society as it is of today in India, this same notion has not changed at all. My mother had the same take on these things and today I ( being of a newer generation than her) have exactly the same thoughts. This is because India has light years to go before something as inbred as moral values take a 360 degree turn. We pride ourselves over this and scoff at the West for the lack thereof. Hence, justifying this track in PR as true pure love or other nonsense won't work for a majority of the audience that this show aims to target.Ofcourse all through out people pitied her and she chose to be mahaan and regarded as tyaagi instead of the destructive lady she turned out to be,That is the grouse that I don;t understand how people on the forum DO NOT have against her. Ruin ovi and ruin Onir, but how dare you ruin two innocent yet unborn lives at stake like this. What of the children who grow up knowing the entire kaand of their parents?
