Actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan has weighed in on the ongoing debate around Dhurandhar The Revenge, a film that has triggered both praise and criticism since its release.

The film, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, has sparked conversations for its political undertones. While a section of viewers has appreciated its narrative, others have questioned its intent, calling it propaganda. Amid this divide, Ravi Kishan shared his views, linking the film’s themes to real world events.

Speaking to ANI, he said, “Dhurandhar film samaaj ka aaina hai. Parliament mein jab attack hua tab koi kuch nahi bola. Atiq Ahmed ke baare mein itne mukadme darj hai, ab sab log bayaan baazi kar rahe hai. Cinema samaaj ka aaina hai, jo samaaj mein hota hai cinema ussi pe banta hai. Yeh lok tantra hai.” He suggested that cinema often mirrors ongoing realities and public sentiment.

He further connected the film’s narrative to the issue of demonetisation. “Notebandi ke baare mein ab sab jaan gaye ke kyu notebandi hua tha. Cinema industry se bhi meri ek request hai, ke ab aise jagrug filmein banane ka samay aagaya hai,” he added, urging filmmakers to focus on awareness driven storytelling.

The film has also received support from several actors across industries. Names from both Bollywood and the South film industry have publicly praised the project, adding to the buzz around its release. At the same time, the criticism has continued on social media, with viewers debating whether the film blurs the line between storytelling and messaging.

Despite the mixed reactions, Dhurandhar The Revenge is performing strongly at the box office. Within six days of release, the film has reportedly collected Rs. 575.72 crore, making it one of the fastest earners in recent times. It has already crossed the collections of major hits like Pathaan, Gadar 2 and Animal.

Trade analysts now expect the film to move towards the Rs. 1000 crore mark in India, if the current momentum continues.
