The wise say hope springs eternal in the human breast and that may be the reason why even after a myriad bizarre twists, one still has faith that the CVs will not butcher Arjun's and Purvi's characters any further.
ARVI began with fireworks, we fell in love with their spats, delighted in Arjun's cockiness and Purvi's feisty, die-hard attitude, we spurred Arjun's intensity and conviction that he could win Purvi over and when he did win her over, we were over the moon with delight. He won her over but in the process, won us over as well. Unfortunately, what began with a bang ended with barely a fizzle.
Now, as ARVI stand at the crossroads, one does sincerely hope that the CVs do not make Arjun a wimp who makes doleful sheep's eyes at his former love, who is now his sis-in-law, while they turn Purvi into an ungrateful wench who abandons the man who has stood by her side steadfastly when she has needed help the most.
I had hoped ARVI would be back together seamlessly but the current track leaves no hope, what with Ovi carrying Arjun's child and Purvi married to Onir. The die has been cast, sadly, there is no turning back. The only way that ARVI can be together again with some semblance of dignity is IF Ovi is not carrying Arjun's baby and Purvi is not married to Onir. Barring this, ARVI need to move on with their lives, separately.
Yesterday, it was mentioned in the update that Arjun left Purvi in the wheelchair without taking time to alert Manav about Purvi's condition and that he did not stay with Purvi till family arrived. One does not do this with any relative, let alone a sister in law. He had been told Ovi was fine and awake, he could have waited a few minutes until he was sure Purvi was okay. Today, he sat stroking Ovi's hair and pacifying her (absolutely right in his position as her husband) totally forgetting the plight of the girl that had fainted. He made no enquiries, did not tell Manav, it was a non-event to him.
Onir, on the other hand, as Purvi's husband sat with her, berated her, told the nurse he would look at Ovi's reports later and assured Purvi all will be right as he was back beside her. He was playing the role of loving husband to perfection just as Arjun was. Why upset the applecart then?
Purvi obviously cares for the guy who has taken her under his protection and given her love, shelter and his name. So, she should. Today, she compared their relationship to that of Manav and Archana and felt that it was a strong bond that they shared. They do, marriage is not just about love, it is about a sense of belonging, responsibility, bonding, unity, facing the world together, being best friends. I have never seen Purvi talk this seriously about her relationship with Arjun. She was never this sure, it was always beset with doubts. Their good times together were frivolous and fun, lovey dovey but the Purvi today was serious and realistic when she had that conversation with Onir.
I believe Arjun has matured too (except for those looks at Purvi that he cannot help), he is caring and loving towards his wife who is carrying his baby. I only hope he is not thrown into a quandary and pulled two ways when he discovers Purvi is also carrying his offspring. I hope to God, Purvi is not. If only wishes could be horses!
