Kool Di 🤗,

A Wonderful awesome commentary Hilarious commentary Di.
These adjectives are not sufficient. Your commentary and post deserves more.

A nice one on Baba1 and Baba2 fighting 😆 and Sulo's reactions 😆.
I was on the way to my hometown yesterday night.
Read your commentary and was rolling with 😆.

Well said about all. I dont catch all the epi's but could knew it from your commentaries.
Yes,On reading Teju's reaction, I too felt,it was a Mixed reaction.
she being Angry at Soham for the way He is or the initial non attachment or unlike she has for him is Ok.Because even though we know someone is ours and they belong to us, if they do something wrong, we will have our dislikes and dishearteness..
So from that aspect immediately she is not feeling the overflowing love is fine from me.

But at what time to show it and How to decide on it also matters. Surely at the stage Soham is, is not the time to think of hatred and disliking. And have to consider the situations and Circumstances too for How he has landed in this.

So, My point is , she could have helped immediately without a second thought, as finally as archu said, he is and always going to be her brother however he might be and also her parents need him.
But then the love, care ,liking can come later too with the time they are going to spend together.
So she can have initial disliking and Hatred too for him, but she should later go on for analysing how he has landed up in what he is and with the time goes on she should come to a conclusion analytically.

So I too feel, Cvs wish for Simple glorification fo Purvi-Soham's bond and they are leaving behind Ovi-Teju-Soham. Without Knowing each oy=ther, these Cvs showed Soham feeling a soft corner, Sister love for Purvi and Purvi shows for Soham. But it doesnt go well... On what basis it is felt.
I wish to Know.
If its on upbringing, the great Sanskaar, they can feel something like this, There the condition fails, because they have not brought up together,
Then the second one can be blood relation so that they feel something like this, there also condition fails, they are not blood related.
So howcome it is possible i am 😕.

So hope they better so a track with Teju and Soham which would be interesting.Because always a initial disliking, some silly fightings and then analysing and making up, that brother-Sister bond will be good to see, rather than seeing Bhai Bhai with overflowing love care (in case of purvi) like 1970's films.

Was that Purvi;s dictate too...marry Ovi but stay mentally/physically with me...He really is disgusting character in my opinion...

going by the stuff @black how is purvi any better than arjun. both of them try to be above all but i ts ovi who is coming out cleaner than both of them even when it was she who started the deal.

Dear Varsha, Kools, Kalapi, Namita and the others reading this thread,

First of all, I would like to send you all and your families my warmest good wishes for a joyful, colourful and fun-filled Navratri. Do enjoy yourselves to the fullest, but Varsha, do be careful about that foot!

Here in Pune, the focus in on the Ganeshotsav, but Navratri. beginning with the Ghatasthapana yesterday, is only a little behind, and the jewellery stores are decked up like nobody's business. Down South, in Tamil Nadu, where I come from originally, we have the kolu , with 5/7/9 wooden steps on which we used to arrange the clay dolls of as many gods and goddesses as we could manage to get, and the ladies of the neighbourhood used to visit each other's kolus, sing bhajans and get sundal (spiced chickpeas) and sweets as prasad. One feels nostalgic about such things! The garba and the dandiya are very popular in Mumbai and of course in Gujarat, but not so much here in Pune.

I am not really in the mood to go into PR, except for one point. I can fully understand Teju's reaction; apart from her instinctive aversion to Vishnu as he is, I think she also feels a tad left out with the attention of both parents solely on Soham/Vishnu, and after all, she is still new to having a full family. I never liked Purvi's sanctimonious platitudes about Soham Dada, and yesterday she was worse than usual, but I have written about that already on Kools' Oct 8 thread. All this is of course a deliberate build up of her mahaanta, and starting today, we will have her in full flow right on the spot, in the City Hospital corridor, which will undoubtedly be lit up by her halo!

As for Vishnu's present nature and his transgressions being attributed solely to his very bad upbringing, I have always had reservations about that. Not every son of a criminal family becomes a criminal. There is Michael Corleone, for one, till he is forced into it, and there are any number of highly disadvantaged kids living in the worst slums, in Harlem or Dharavi, cheek by jowl with the worst criminals, and with criminals in their families, who work and study hard despite all these roadblocks, and become honest, upright citizens. Similarly, there are any number of conscienceless black sheep in the most affluent families, who have had every advantage in their upbringing but still go badly wrong.

I believe that there is a kind of moral compass hard wired inside each of us, and this guides us depending on how it is fixed. One's upbringing can affect this compass to some extent, but not turn it upside down. As for Vishnu, he is not a criminal just because of a lousy upbringing; he takes to that life with full enthusiasm and without the slightest reservation. I remember how he behaved when Manav came to make the pay off for Purvi's release. The levity suddenly changing into snarling menace was scary, and his baiting of Manav was arrogant to the nth degree. What is more, he has no inhibtions about shooting to kill. He would have not had the slightest hesitation in killing any of them in the final shootout, if he could have got away with it.

Later, with Arjun having become such a washout, we were left with no other viable options, and I too began to look forward to Vishnu's cheeky, bindass self, and I tried to forget his thuggish propensities. But it all came back at the bahubali celebrations when he kidnaps Archana. There is a reckless rejoicing in the power of the gun; he would have killed Manav without batting an eyelid if he could have hit him in a critical point. I was horrified by these displays, and no amount of affectionate nostalgia for the lovely baby he once was can wipe all that out.

Now we are obviously going to see a major rebooting exercise by the CVs, at the end of which Vishnu-Soham will come out white as driven snow and smelling of roses. However, I cannot forget the cold fury and the almost casual propensity for violence that Vishnu displays repeatedly, and for me, he will still be a willing and consummate thug, not a misguided boy deserving pity and forgiveness. I know that many of you will be at odds with me over this, but this is how I feel.

Varsha, I agree with you completely on the Vishnu-Varsha upbringing question. One can hardly attribute Vishnu's faults to Varsha's upbringing without stretching the line backwards to Varsha and her aai Sulochana. The fact is that Varsha is hardwired all wrong, and so is Vishnu.

By they way its such a stupid track. Which inspector would call someone to ask about their son's health at the insistence of a criminal ? And how did Purvi's diary remain in the car . I don't think she even opened her purse in the car. She was busy trying to avoid Arjun's stares and then even if she did how did the driver know it was Purvi's diary. They make it so melodramatic.

purvi had diary in her hand n kept it on the seat n the driver too knew purvi

guys thanks for commenting

umi , kalapi , varsha ...take care of ur health dears🤗 and get well soon .

anupama , nirvan and the member who is a silent reader and whose name is dicey to remember 😆 thanks a lot .

Anyone i missed thanks a lot .

shyamala ...very informative post . I go to a south indian friend for navratri and she does exactly what u have described . She arranges clay dolls on a kolu and gives sundal as the prasad with other items .

I attend the Bengali clubs and see their pujos . How they feed butter to the Devi and her lion on Dussehra or how they do Kali pooja ...their pooja delicacies fascinate me .

I observe the enthusiasm of the Gujrathis on the nine days while doing Dandiya which has now become a multi cultural event from a regional spiritual dance .

Observing different cultures fascinates me shymala . I try to find the commonality in all cultures ...it is my passion . I see so many commonalities .

Maharashtrians too celebrate the Navratri with a lot of devotion . During Navratri the prasad of Puran is a must at least once for the Devi . Puran is the Devi's naivedyam . So the preparation of puran poli or puran karanjis [ gujiyas in the north] is a must .

Ashtami holds a special significance for them . They make the Devi's mask of steamed rice flour called ukad ...this is a real work of art as there should be no crack in the ukad once it dries up . The whole night women stay awake and some specially blessed women blow the ghagaris [ brass or steel pots of water] in an highly meditative state .

I have started the sweet preparations . 😊

About Soham .

I read your post about him and your mention of the moral compass set me thinking as i agree to it . Btw it is similiar to what Purvi said though we both know with what purpose the CVs put that dialogue in her mouth .

Your observation brought two characters of the scripturres in my mind ...Ajamila from the Bhagwatam and Angulimala from the buddhist literature .

Ajamila was a brahmin but he slipped morally of his own free will when he married a prostitute for physical pleasure . He became so besotted by her that he left his wife , parents and hadeight children by her and did neech karma not befitting a brahmin to fulfil her avaricious demands .

But he got realisation on his death bed due to a vision ...he had called out to his eighth child whom he had fondly named Narayana. He saw that the servants of Yama were asked to go back by the servants of Narayana .

Realising that he had got a second chance due to a higher purpose he gave up everything and spent his remainder of life meditating on the banks of a holy river .

In short he returned to his roots .

Same with Angulimala . Son of a brahmin, unfairly accused ,he became such a vicious robber that he cut the fingers of his victims and wore a garland of them and hence got the name . But he transformed when he met the Buddha and he became a monk and did not lift a finger even in self defence when the same people stoned him in anger .

The transformation of Ratnakar into Valya to Rishi Valmiki is well known .

All these great men went back to their roots .

I feel this ...

Circumstances do influence us . The atmosphere in which u were brought up , the company u kept etc does matter a lot . It does not change what you really are but it does shape your character by blurring it briefly . Till a life transforming event takes place . Even then , life long habits cannot be changed suddenly . But they are not impossible either .

Soham and Teju have inherited this fighting spirit from Savita . The family tree is an amazing thing . Their parents are anything but fighters but their grandmother had this fighting spirit . If Teju's circumstances shaped them in another way [ she loved karate and matches etc] Soham's were channelised into street brawls and physical fights according to the circumstances he got .

You mentioned about snarling . Well , this is exactly the way Savita went snarling when she was in a fight .

Ovi has taken the obstinacy of being a one man woman from her mother Archana . Archana had the same obstinate obsession with Manav and she refused Satish , Jaywant all other men . It was only Manav she wanted .

A child who grows up seeing robberies as a way of life ...feels that way only ...that robberies etc r a way of life .

The moral compass flickers when life changing events are encountered .

One does ultimately come back to his roots ...there is no running away from them . It is only a matter of time . When , is the question .

I agree with Kalapi who said death is so ultimate . To refuse giving blood at this point is in my opinion not right .

I agree with Varsha who said that she is ultimately only 19 . One is so judgemental and definitive then .

I agree with you that there is a moral compass in each of us .

All i hope is he never becomes a second Archana or Manav .
