Kalapi.. please stay with the discussion point.. Regarding Arjun & Purvi..
Arjun & Purvi are nuts.. so I am not going there..sacrifice on top of sacrifice.. only they can deal with that kind of sacrifice, not you & meI have already stated this.. The point is about Ovi.. even that came up coz I liked that Mangalsutra & Sindoor quote of StandingAlone..If she truly loves Arjun, why would she marry him like that without explaining him the real reason.
Well, Vilaisini, the problem with only considering Ovi in the Ovi/Arjun/Purvi mess is that it only result in a biased opinion..

Arjun wasn't kidnapped and blindfolded during the ceremony…nor there are reasons to believe he has a mental disease for not seeing through the whole drama or that he can't take decisions on adverse circumstance, well, wasn't he the successful businessman – so we can conclude he is use to taking decisions on different conditions. Is he a 5 yr old to believe that Purvi selected only Ovi from her greatness of heart? Purvi said that to Arjun (I believe too) that she is doing it for her Aai. So, what made Arjun think that they (meaning Arjun/Purvi) are together in that sacrifice? If they were together, could those deliberations not have occurred and concluded together and after the deliberations when Arjun finally decides to marry Ovi, he marries her wholeheartedly, without holding back on the promise of a true marriage. This to me signifies that it was Purvi and only Purvi's decision alone and Arjun was just a commodity exchanged.
The pinch of sindoor and those black beads makes Arjun, Ovi's husband. Now, Ovi Arjun Desmukh Kirloskar can lay claim on Arjun as well as his property. A divorce will be needed to separate the couple and if Ovi decides not to divorce Arjun, the court I believe can't force her. In that scenario, Arjun has to change his religion if he is so desperate to change hands and go to Purvi, (my my, what self respect men has in PR land) as in the real life example of Dharmendra…
Ovi is an astute character in the show. She is also a go-getter, so what is wrong in that when most forum members are so esteemed and go-getters themselves. Btw, I did want Purvi/Arjun to marry too, but since the marriage worked out different, I just don't see the point of blaming everything on Ovi, when in reality only a third person can come in and interfere in a relationship between a couple, only and only when the foundation is weak and the couple themselves let others to interfere…I had that opinion even about Arman and Savita….
I can't prevent anyone from thinking differently nor do I want to….so if members wants to see the story differently, so be it….

I don't see why you think that Ovi was faking it. If is because that Teju prevented her from it?? But, she didn't plan it long enough to make it go through without fail. She went in the kitchen and went for the knife.
If she was good at planning couldn't she be calling Purvi and blackmailing continuously? She didn't and gave up on the deal when Punni called, right? She didn't conceive the deal, just knew which one was a soft target...this I find very interesting...no, she isn't necessarily good at planning, I think...
Yes, you are right that Dk and Arjun didn't know about her attempted suicide, nor did anyone else other than Deshmukhs and Archana know about it. She never got any sympathy from her first attempt. So, she couldn't leverage anything from it, won't you say. So, why attempt a second fake one, when she got nothing...no, I don't think those where fake. Besides her lineage is such that from her mom and her granddad all attempt suicide sometimes in their life (and all failed too)...so, it only confirms that she is emotionally close to them with suicidal tendencies under depression...my POV..
BTW. The second attempt was also shown in the serial, a cut wasn't shown, but remember those few episodes were shoddy jobs by the CVs, remember how many issues we could point out from earrings mismatch between Puvi and Ovi to so many others...
