I was actually thinking the same thing. Her character assassination is not that far off. Ekta simply likes it when we fall in love with a character. she then does her very best for us to end up hating that same character.

For all Archana claiming that she never kept secrets from Purvi, I found it rather strange that she did in fact keep a horde of secrets from Purvi. Purvi did not have a clue about Soham or Varsha until recently. She did not know the truth about her mother's Canadian famiy, when Manav first came to Mumbai, Purvi learnt about him through Punni, she did not know about Tej being Archana's daughter. The woman (archana) is a treasure trove of secrets, hope she has learned her lesson, good intentions or not, not to keep loved ones in the dark. The only thing Archana did do was fill Purvi's head with fairy tales about her aai's lost family creating an unnatural bond with a non-existent dad and a burning urge to unite her aai with her family. Look where that has led her.

Archana did not tell Purvi that Manav was their new boss, Punni sent her the engagement pics online and that is how Purvi came to know. Archana came to know Tej was her daughter when Teju was still living with them, Archana did not share this with Purvi, only with Sulo.
