Dear Shyamala,

I can be practical and just view this show just as a drama for entertainment purpose and nothing more, but still watching today's episode I really felt sad more so knowing what is going to come.

Punni seemed better compared to Ovi when she talked to her on phone almost asking her to give up. And when Arjun kisses Purvi in the party in front of everyone, Punni did looked like she is convinced Arjun is not for her. She did seem happy to see them both loving and happy with each other. Also it was clear that Ovi making the offer to Purvi was her own idea, not Punni's. Which word of 'I do not love Ovi, it is Purvi, I love' does she not understand?

I had written this else where yday -

I would love it and would be really proud of her and think it would be my time worth spent if Purvi can stand up for herself and for the man who loves her so much. If Purvi goes ahead and marries Arjun this time, she would give a lot of replies to a lot of people.
I so want her to do it. Just marry Arjun, rest everything can be taken care off. She just has to share her issues with him. It was so painful to see him beg her to be with him, assuring her for the n-th time that he would do anything to keep her happy.

Arjun is going to be devastated if Purvi sacrifices for Ovi's sake.

Shyamala,
Watching today's episode, Reading today's review by you, I feel like those "Dark Clouds" have completely engulfed the skies of PR , which incidentally is synonymous with the gloomy weather I am seeing outside my window since morning today.😭

Janhvi,

@red. Well, I can and I do, and I have no patience with all the psychological claptrap that Archana has dished out; I have told her so in no uncertain terms.

As for you, you are the lawyer for the defence, and that is it.

Re: the various scenarios you have taken the trouble to outline, they may materialise, one or all. I am getting a bit too tired of all this to get excited about the regeneration of Arjun-Purvi. I hope they both get run over by a train, as she is running away and he is chasing her, and leave me in peace. He deserves it for his folly and she for hers.

Yes, I too think I will be better off with Heyer, or the mint condition 1892 set of the Waverley novels of Sir Walter Scott that my brother got for me recently. A real treasure that I handle with due reverence. It smells divinely of old leather and old paper.

Shyamala,I read the title to your post and foolishly gathered some hope from the use of "teetering" instead of "teetered", alas, read your post, eloquently penned as usual, and felt that you had sounded the death knell to my hopes of an ARVI marriage early next week, you hammered the last nail into the coffin so to speak!😭

I have not watched the epi and don't intend to unless I am forced to watch it on TV Sunday evening. As for Purvi not sparing a thought to Arjun, how could you? She loves him with all her heart and her heart is generous, kind, noble and inifinite (well, large, at least). Remember what Archana (our own) wrote that the girl is beset with fears and doubts, which 19 year old weighed by emotional blackmail of the worst kind would not be fearful, anxious? Also as Arch wrote, Purvi has never thought herself deserving of Arjun's love, to her it is still a dream, she finds herself not worthy, how could he love her, plain simple Purvi over the glamorous, beautiful much loved Ovi? To top it all off, Ovi has that dubious most envied of all qualifications, she is the biological daughter of Archana Aai and Manav Baba, surely that in itself makes that brat worthy of the Gods, at least in Purvi's eyes? It is not that Purvi is not giving thought to Arjun's love for her, it is that she believes she is not worthy of such love hence he will forget her and be happy with that ignominious girl. Also, when you love someone, you tend to think you know what is best for them in the long run and she perhaps imagines he will get over her and live happily ever after with ma'am.
My wishes for Purvi are a thousandfold, here are a few - I hope she realizes not to trust Ovi and goes ahead with her marriage, maybe she will hear beloved, evil, Punni Tai talking to Ovi over the phone.😈 If Purvi does decide to give Arjun the slip, I hope she bolts with a letter left behind. She will not, cannot face Arjun face to face and tell him her intent, as she will fear that he will convince her otherwise. When and if she leaves a letter behind, I hope Ovi offers to stand in for Purvi. When everyone there is maligning Purvi, I hope Arjun remains firm and tells Ovi to her face, once and for all, that he has thought of her as a friend and only that. I hope Punni bursts Ovi's grand sympathy act and discloses to all Ovi's hand in Purvi's disappearance, I hope Punni gets slapped for her pains and I hope that Manav slaps Ovi for her unforgivable scheming. 😈 I hope Arjun steps in and tells Ovi that all he feels for her now is inexplicable hate as she has dashed his hopes of happiness forever. At this point, it would be nice if Archana for once gathered her wits and grew a spine and came forward to also slap Ovi and tell the crowd about Ovi's visit and offer to her.
As Purvi runs away, I hope Varsha somehow rescues her and takes her home. Great chance for Purvi and Soham to bond as brother and sister and it will give Purvi another chance at righting her mother's messed up world. Good thing Archana picked up Purvi and not anyone else, this way as Archana goes about messing up her life, her 19 year old can follow piecing it all back together for her Aai.
Further tracks could be on Arjun finding Purvi with Soham, misunderstandings, resolution, we should all be grey and done with PR by then!
The CVs have been very clever, we were in a frenzy when we first heard about the possibility of a Ovi/Arjun marriage, when there was a furore, they soothed by throwing crumbs of ARVI scenes at us, they spoilt the entire enagement week with more rumors, when they wore us out and got us to the point of being tired and resigned, they threw the original sacrifice track at us anyway. Brilliant!
What started as a commentary on your post took off on a tangent, you can see I am upset at today's goings on. The only saving grace was your mention of Heyer. I bought 30 of her books recently from a used book store for a song and have them barely 3 feet from me sitting in a box. Will read them to soothe my frayed nerves while Arjun finds a way to beat the Deshmukh girls at their own game of deceit, scheming, sacrifice and buckets of tears. He is a hero, after all!

Namita, Ash, Jai, Jyothi, take a bow!

You were right when you felt that the precap shown yesterday - of the whole Deshmukh clan accepting Archana, with Ovi calling her aai - was merely a fantasy, a day dream of Purvi's. That is exactly what it was, and when realization dawns, Purvi's eyes brim over with sudden tears, as a bewildered Arjun watches with uncomprehending concern.

But I was right too, in what I felt was going to come down the line, dream or no dream. It is almost there now.

The party: Practically the whole of today's episode was taken up by DK's party for his special friends to meet his daughter-in-law to be, and the venue, the ambience, and the guests were all impressive enough to delight Sulochana, and to throw Manjusha into a tizzy.

Purvi, to my considerable relief, was not wearing that pale yellow horror for which Arjun was gypped of Rs.15 grand, but a light green one that looked a lot better. She too looked a lot better than usual, thanks to the fact that the bump atop her head was missing. Really quite lovely, in fact.

Yes, Trish, we can both rejoice, at least for this one evening!

DK is on top of the world, praising Archana to the skies in front of his guests, taking Purvi off for the first dance, and generally enjoying himself thoroughly, as his son remarks appreciatively as he thanks Archana (for the nth time. Can the boy not think of one fresh line?) for having given him "the greatest happiness of his life" when she gave him Purvi's hand.

Little does he know that this precious hand seems to be on the verge of slipping away from his.

Purvi's monologue: What follows, as Dil kyon ye mera shor kare starts up in the background and Arjun claims Purvi's hand for the next dance, is one of the most beautiful and yet the saddest of their scenes so far. Purvi looks distraught, as Ovi's words of the evening before echo in her head Give Ovi's Arjun back to Ovi and leave Arjun's life for good...I want Archana Aunty.. aai.. to get the rights of an aai and all the respect that she deserves.. Arjun does not fail to notice how disturbed she looks, but she fobs him off with a gentle nod.

Then, as the music swirls around them and he holds her close, she looks into his eyes with more longing and love than I have ever seen her display before today. Her eyes are dark with feelings that he cannot understand, and that shows in his puzzled face. Then she begins to talk, in a soft monotone, uninterrupted, the words stumbling one over the other as emotion chokes her, but yet she does not let it overwhelm her, nor does she break down.

How beautiful this moment is, Arjun! .. You know, I never expected much from life, but still, I got a great deal. I got you, Arjun.. Arjun, I want to make this the most beautiful moment of my life, I want to to live it, to enjoy it. So that later, if I am tired, these memories can give me courage.

Arjun, you came into my life, and you were there for me. Always. Your being with me is very important for me. And with your love, and the support it gives me, I can get through the whole of my life.

I love you. Main tumse bahut pyaar karti hoon (I love you very much)..

At this point, Arjun, whose brow is furrowed with mounting doubt and concern, pulls her closer and kisses her forehead, thus ending this passage. He might have had only some inchoate fears, but my heart was sinking fast - down, down, down, right into my sandals.

The whole of the above was so much like a farewell speech that any bridegroom-to-be could have been forgiven for being seriously alarmed. Janhvi, do you remember Heyer'e These Old Shades and Leonie's last, dinner conversation with the Duke of Avon, before she runs away that very night? The words there were of course different, but the tone of finality, and of the foreboding of a parting to come, were the same. It was like an eerie echo. Justin Alastair did not read Leonie right then, and Arjun does not read Purvi right this time, but he is clearly worried, and that surfaces in the precap.

The precap:This was, if anything, worse. It must have been at the end of the party, for Purvi is in the same saree and Arjun in the same outfit. She is looking more like a mourner at a funeral than a young bride -to-be; her face is worn out with strain and her eyes are shining with unshed tears.

Arjun is obviously beset with nameless fears, for his opening sentence is I see a future with you, Purvi. Look at the world thru my eyes and you will feel that you are the luckiest girl in the world! He is pleading now, pleading for he knows not what, and that shows in the tension in his voice and in his body language, as the doubts he has sought to suppress all the evening spill out into words. I will do anything to make you happy! Will you be with me always? And as his face twists in an anguished cri de coeur (cry from the heart), a plea for commitment: Promise?

She does not promise. She says nothing.

As the defence lawyers say when they have finished their final speech to the court, I rest my case. It is now for you to make up your minds as to what Purvi is going to do.

As for me, you know what I think is going to happen, though I still do not know how. My heart goes out to poor, bewildered, trusting Arjun, who is going to get it right between the eyes. And to DK, normally so unemotional, but now so obviously brimming over with joy in anticipation of his son's happiness with a beloved wife. They do not deserve this, and nothing, nothing at all, can excuse such a betrayal, or so many broken promises.

The most dismaying thing in today's episode, and especially in Purvi's monologue, is that nowhere does she say a single word about Arjun, except in the context of his being there for her and loving her. Nowhere does she even think to herself about what he might need from her, from her love. It is as if he did not exist except to be a support for her and to love her. As if he needs nothing for himself, as if she owes him nothing in return for such devotion.

As she contemplates giving up her love and Arjun, for her mother's uncertain happiness, and on the dubious strength of Ovi's word, she seems to have no thought at all for what her decision will do to the man she claims to love so much. She is ready to sacrifice not just her happiness, but his as well, to achieve her goal, and this without even a passing thought for the suffering she will inflict on him. This is classic tunnel vision, and, if one wanted to be blunt, monumental self-centredness, if not selfishness.

As a sidelight, Ovi, having now shed all her carefully applied coat of pathos and emotional appeal, snarls at Punni over the telephone when Punni appears to be throwing in the towel. I will never let this marriage take place ! she says thru gritted teeth.

What neither she nor Punni knows as yet is that they have to do nothing, for Purvi is all set to win Ovi's poker game for her.Their game of bluff and double-bluff seems to be coming off at last.

Unless, of course, there is some miracle that saves Purvi from herself, and saves us as well.

Shyamala B.Cowsik

Hai there...great post...firstly thank god purvi did not wear the yellow saree...i seriously couldn't take it...yesterday i believed that if purvi goes through this sacrificing route that arjun or archana will stop her from doing it and i still believe so...i actually do not blame her if she does, she would be stupid but i would accept it...my reason is first she was thorn between ovi and her hapiness with arjun...then she was thorn between her mother's values and her hapiness..(archana to me was right to throw arjun the challenge) then she was thorn between her family and arjun...she knows none of the D clan liked archana accepting arjun and her-even her father isn't happy...she is already filled with guilt...now she has to choose between her mother's hapiness and her's...to me her line to arjun if i get tired, this memories will give me courage shows that she is already tired and ready to give up...and from today what was really obvious was purvi was tortured..and arjun knows it...so does archana..

However, i will not accept if arjun gives up and doesn't fight for her...arjun unlike purvi doesn't have anyone who hates his relationship with purvi...only manav and ovi..who is his uncle and best friend not his father and sister...and he is not adopted, he has no gratitude to pay back...purvi feels that she needs to pay archana and it is understandable...i am not saying that archana put this in purvi head, it is purvi who is thinking so...when you are adopted you have this great need to prove to your parents that you do love them and you will go that extra mile..even when your parents don't ask so...my best friend is adopted and i have seen the things he does for his mother..he takes care of his mother more than her real children do..and his mother has never asked him too...coming back to arjun...he is a fighter from the start if he can't lose a business deal how is he suppose to sit back and watch the love of his life walk away from him...

Janhvi,

19?After she got that education she talks about, and nearly 4 years in that office? Has she been travelling faster than light that she is going backwards agewise? Why not make her 17 while you are about it? Oh,no, that would never do, for it would make them liable to arrest under the child marriage laws!

And yes, I do mean it. She deserves no less, and if she does ditch Arjun, what I said is going to happen anyway.

As for the shattering into a million pieces, she can do it to herself any time she pleases. The thing I have a serious problem with is what she is going to do to Arjun. He is a fool in love, but I am not! Of course he will be " bigger and more magnanimous and understanding of Purvi's plight". That is a major part of the problem. The more he is understanding, the more he is taken for granted.

I know you don't mean that last, Shyamala. You speak as his mausi and in fear of his broken heart. I think Arjun is bigger and more magnanimous and understanding of Purvi's plight. He loves her for what she is, that she puts others above herself and that is what she is doing, it is her mother, the mother that gave her a chance at a decent life. In her postion, I would probably have done the same even if in the process I was shattered into a million pieces. She is still a very green 19.

Jyothi,

I watched it thrice, which is very rare for me, just because I wanted to get her monologue right. What wrung my heart was Arjun's last plea Will you be with me always?... And as his mouth twists like that of a frightened child, Promise? It was so pathetic that it hurt.

She does not promise anything, of course. For all her fine words, she is on her own trip, and he is to be the sacrificial lamb. I hope she falls flat on her face and ends up with nothing to show for her betrayal and the promises she broke - nothing but dust and ashes.

Shyamala,
I can understand your feelings, but @bold - if that happens and when it does happen, it will still be us who would still be crying all over again. It was too painful to read. Hope better sense prevails her and she trusts Arjun just for this one time. I am unable to hope, it is just a wish. I'm almost praying for her to go through the marriage.

@red.Well, all I can say is that I have no patience with unidimensional thinking and feeling. I prefer to have a few more dimensions. And if I have to hear any more about Purvi's emotional baggage and why we should all feel sorry for her plight, I shall start climbing the nearest wall.

Jyothi - U dont have to watch it... its good and bad, beautiful and sad. Well... for ME. But know that there are a few moments to make u smile - like the DK -Purvi moment and the ArVi scene was nicely done and filled with emotions even though it hinted at a final farewell.
Purvi's words as taken from Ms. Shyamala's post: You know, I never expected much from life, but still, I got a great deal. I got you, Arjun. It shows that she KNOWS what he is to her... she truly loves him. But... she is no longer thinking with her heart, her head or her soul. She is strictly thinking with her guilt, her outstanding debt to Archana, her remorse causing a further rift in her aai's life. She is no longer thinking straight... her judgement is clouded and she is now overwhelmed with so many emotions that she appears to be selfish. But... can we really be absolutely fair in calling her selfish and then a full stop at the end of the statement? If she did not even consider her mother at least once then she would still be termed selfish as well. I just dont know... this is where my conflict comes in.
For when we come to Arjun (and DK)... there is complete joy, happiness and rapture for this forthcoming wedding. Arjun was completely oblivious to Purvi's inner plight but now he can feel and sense it. He is unsure of the whys and hows - where did his fiece, loving and courageous Purvi go. The sad part is that she may leave him and NOT say why and that WILL be selfish. If Purvi does leave at the mandaap that will ruin Arjun and DK also - but she does not think of this. Her thinking is strictly one dimensional at the moment.
The precap is hard to watch... for it did look like Arjun was on the verge of tears as was Purvi. Where will they go from here? Where ever it is... Im not sure its gonna be to the mandaap. 😔.
p.s. Im sooo angry at Ovi. Not Punni as much. Punni is and always will be conniving and deceitful. But Ovi PRETENDS to be sweetness and helplessness personified, when she is the most conniving and manipulative one there is. Im sorry... I dont buy her act anymore... she does not love Arjun... this is NOT called love.

Miss Shyamala,

I saw the precap again (it seems I'm gultton for punishment) and my heart broke for Arjun... he doesn't know whats gonna hit him... he too sees and feels the dark clouds but he is desperately fighting them off... hoping against hope that Purvi will bring out the sun again. Its truly heart breaking to see him in that state.
Jyothi,
Ur earlier statement - Stupid is as Stupid does... Purvi is leaving the known (Arjun, DK, her happiness, her mother's contentment with her marriage) for the unknown (if and how the D -Clan and CC will accept their bahu/aai). 1st law of budgeting - never depend on unknown souces of income (in this case - happiness) for that will make u bankrupt (stupid).

Guess highlight of the show was Archu/Anki and Purvi/Asha..Both you were looking gorgeous it seems..All PR ladies are gorgeous..Ekta is lucky to have such a gorgeous set of ladies 😃.Some positivity in the show with smiling faces after a long time.At least some break before the storm I guess.
Looks like Purvi is trying to sacrifice her love for something which her Aai can never have based on the current scenario.I think Purvi fails to understand that no relationship can be forced and if Arman want to re-unite it should come from them and no one can force them.IT looks like Purvi has become obsessed with "Aai uniting" syndrome (which is understandable ) like Ovi with her Arjun syndrome.I think its high time Purvi give her Aai the space she needs to make her own decisions and focus on her life.Purvi has seen the effects of self-destruction,senseless sacrifices through her Aai itself,so she should be well aware what can happen if she even thinks on those terms.
But alas its Ekta's show.Show meant only for BW promos and songs ,what else can be expected.
I felt really really bad today for two characters/actors : Manav/Hiten and Sachu/Puru.
Of course Ovi/Shruthi of course comes only to show herself to be obsessed on someone whom she just cant have.
Mrilani/Tej - She hardly gets to do anything. Her character has been reduced to nothing now unfortunately.A character with so much potential like Sachu's reduced to nothing.
Manav is making guest appearances just to show he is part of this non-sense show and Sachu/Puru comes in between if he is lucky either to stare at Archu or do nothing and just stand. What a joke.
I am not sure why actors are treated so badly by PR management.
The new montage clearly indicates to me Arman are not coming together so soon..The 10 days will be shown for 2 months now.Manav is no where seen in new montage which seems to give a indication that Arman for now are not uniting.
I think if at all Arman are uniting there might another montage coming soon, may be.
PR just has become a land to just promo BW movies and songs.Next entering now is Kareena. There would be a maha epi for it and a separate track to show her entry. While it looks good ,the only person benefited is of course Ekta.Right from the start she has been using PR as her marketing medium to promote many BW movies and songs. For her its just a marketing medium and nothing else.Actors or storyline of the show are just secondary to her and she gives damn about anyone of them which is clearly reflected in the current state of the show.
Feel really bad for the current set of actors.I feel really happy that Sush left on time for his BW venture ,at least Sush escaped at the nick of time.
Zee as a channel should really do something about the crap being ditched from its premiere show .Only Zee channel heads can have a affect of some sort on Ekta.

Oh Jai...how true, how very true..when i watching the episode all i could think about was first it was sachin who had no lines, now it is tej...tej who could not stop talking now has no line...🤪 next it will be ovi with no line...so true about hiten..pity him, however, i feel when the truth about sachin and savita comes out...he will have tons of line...hopefully...

Somehow when Purvi talks to Arjun during their dance , that, "I feel so lucky, you came in my life, you supported me so much, I want to live this life, I love you..." and all that ...

...I couldn't help but think - "Yet you want to give this man up. Yet, you want to betray him. He left his house, left his dad, came to live in a chawl with no luxuries, no proper food, not even an umbrella to protect himself from rain, worked as a mechanic just to convince your mother, took the bullets for you, Yet you want to leave his guy stranded" !!!!! Why? oh! Why?!
