As far as zany ideas go, here's my contribution for the night 🤣

Arjun asks Purvi for her promise never to leave him and she gives it unconvincingly because he obviously won't let her out of his sight until she gives him an answer 😆

She goes home and being the tactical business man that he is - he's always thinking one step ahead - a master chessman 😉

So he gets in his little car (for some reason they have shrunk haven't they? 😆) and drives to Purvi's chawl where he subsequently find the perfect spot to become Incognito Man 😎 - 'to keep an eye on his beloved'

You see, he has an 'inkling' she's about to fly away from the coop so he's one step ahead of her. 🤣

She tries to sneak out the house with her ugly creamsicle purse and whammo! He nabs her just in time!

"Where do you think you're going, Purvi?"

"I, I, I, ha aai asked me to get something for her from the shop"

"At 4:00 in the morning? With your ugly creamsicle purse stuffed to the gills? I'm not buying what you're selling Purvi!"

He pierces her with that look he gave her the day he met her!

Sssizzzlinnnggg! Sigh, wait where was I? 🤣 Oh right...

She spills the beans and tells him everything.

"Is that how much you love me? To give up on me for everyone else's happiness?"

Purvi looks down at the floor unable to answer.

"Fine. We do this my way!"

He grabs her hand, takes her to the little car. Vroom, vroom and they're off!! 😆

They go back to that abandoned Shiv mandir. He tells her to recite the mantras as they take their saat pheres. He then puts sindoor on her head and takes out the mangalsutra he had specially made for her and puts it on her neck.

The cobra makes another appearance and this time she jumps up into his arms. He takes her back to the car - full on eyelock (no he doesn't trip - he's got the place memorized 🤣) all the while the faintest sounds of Dil Kyun Yeh Mera Shor Kare is wafting on the winds.

No consummation - naughty girls 😉 he's punishing her remember? Well, maybe just a few steamy kisses to get the girl's mind cemented in his favour 🤣

He promptly takes her back home, leaves her on her doorstep and tells her "Now, you can still leave if you want to. I won't stop you. But remember, you are my wife and your duty is now to me. Not to your mother or anyone else, only to ME"

He would kiss her forehead and go to his car to leave - mission accomplished! 😎

Lastly, before he jumped into his car to drive off he would say, "And for goodness sakes, please but that bag out of its misery!" 🤣

Laurie.. How did I miss this post.. Hilarious..🤣 🤣 🤣

May be you should send her one nice Micheal Kors bag...

After Arjun asking her so many confirmation, you still fall for this guy..🤣
Very funny

Dear Aldith,

I was irritated with myself because I very rarely lose my cool, and then only for some specific purpose. It is my training as a professional diplomat, and I needed it a lot during the 37 years that I was in the Indian diplomatic service.

Now as for the sacrifice syndrome, it was very common in the Hollywood films of the 1930s to the 1960s as well, especially those of the B&W era. It is part of an ethos that is the polar opposite of the I, me, mine ethos so prevalent these days. Only thing is, in soaps like PR, these concepts are carried to ridiculous extents. It is the same with the keeping things secret for the assumed welfare/happiness of the other syndrome. That too was a staple of Victorian literature. In PR, of course, it is the oxygen of the story, the only problem being that we, the viewers, are left gasping for breath!!

Incidentally, do you know why such TV serials are called "soaps"? I found this out only recently. It seems that this kind of prolonged TV serial was a Mexican invention, and the first such was sponsored by the soapmaking giant, Proctor and Gamble, and so the whole genre was named 'soaps'!

Shyamala

PS: I liked the Biblical quotation a lot. It is full of the wisdom of the ancients.

Dear Shyamala:

It was great hearing back from you & I'm so happy that my post comforted you a little!! To answer your question - I've been around but unfortunately just discovered the beauty of the forum recently😊
I perfectly understand you loosing your cool- no need to be ashamed. I'm so mad at Purvi that I have to keep reminding myself that this is just a show/ pure fiction & I shouldn't get myself so worked up!! But then again- I'm so attached to Arjun & Purvi that its a bit difficult not to lose it at such a foolish, senseless & selfish' pending' sacrificial act of hers!!
Can you help me out here- why do these Indian dramas revel always in such silly 'sacrifices' by the lead stars? It has never worked out for the good or better in any of the dramas that I've watched over the years yet it is repeated over & over again!! Really can't the creatives be a bit more creative or innovative?
Further, why do the creatives have to show Purvi as being so silly & selfish all of a sudden? Doesn't she recall how hurt & devastated she was when Arjun got engaged to Ovi before her eyes & that too without her having any prior knowledge of their relationship? So why is she not thinking any at all at present of the pain, sorrow & humilation that she will cause Arjun if she goes ahead wih this sacrificial act?😲
If the creatives proceed with this sacrificial act of Purvi's its going to literally kill the magic of Arvi & will definately uproot the foundation of their relationship & I can't fathom how they'll ever be able to successfully remedy that!!
Anyway, let's wait & see what happens- as Romans 8:24-25 (the Bilble) says "... but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth ye yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."
So, I continue to hope & wait for the best!!😊
Aldith
