Ladies,

@red
. I don't know about 'fabulous acting', but I am going to ask Zee for a ban on crying scenes by women who look THIS bad in the process. She looked frightful. I know that everyone cannot be eye candy, but we do not need any more eyesores in PR. We have one AAA one already - guess who? - and I cannot stand any more.

This said, one cannot blame her for playing her cards any way she can - all is fair in love and war, remember?

Jyothi, do see my post on Shyamala's thread. I am pretty alarmed too :( and the channel froze on the panipuri scene :( so I need to go watch that online.

If Ovi knows her mom loves her, what was all that previous natak about? Her pretense about losing everything to Purvi including her mom was all hogwash. And all the theories of her being deprived of her mom's love and the psychological damage that has inflicted on her needs to be flung by the wayside after today's fabulous acting by her. 😡

QUOTE=jdronamraju] I just watched it on TV too Jahnvi...How dare the DCC play Archana like that.😡..and ur ladli is causing me lot of stress, I tell u.. can never guess what she is gonna do.. I am trying very hard to keep my faith in her, but hmmm...

But then we might be jumping the gun and the girl might have more gumption and sense than we are crediting her with!!! Fingers and toes crossed!!!

I was happy to see LMYAM jump to 22 from 32 on the rankings. Finally figured what time it airs here on TV, 9:30 pm.

Janhvi,
Your answer is so predictable! 😆 Mother of the ladli!!!! 😆
Oh yeah, I will wait too...
BTW, 9:30pm airing is the repeat. The 1st airing of LMAYM is at 5:30pmPT

For those with "I believe in ArVi" slogan, here is some inspiration for you.

Listen to the lyrics - Hopes and beliefs for a beautiful tomorrow.
That is what Arjun-Purvi should be saying.

Dear bee5,

We were very familiar with Sintex tanks in Chennai. While you are about it, please do courier TWO, of the 5000 litres size, one for Purvi and one for Archana. The Karankar household might be able to get a 10% property tax rebate for water harvesting, and even if the water is saline, it can be used for the toilets.

I am glad you are warming up to LMYAM. I liked that lakeside scene yesterday between Sahil and Shivani, such a total absence of melodrama and so much of warmth. Yes, his dictator of a mother is so stately a dowager, and so civilised even when turning Sahil's parents down in no uncertain fashion. Now imagine that scene in PR. She would have been pointing her (unpainted, alas!) fingernails to within a foot of their faces. As it is, Rajalakshmi Sisodia is like a (much more portly) female version of the old DK, from PR I.

I also agree with your comparison between the Shivani-Sahil scenes and those in PR these days. The old Arjun-Purvi ones - the airport scenes, the rain scenes in the park and on that little bridge- had a high emotional content and beautiful lines. Now all they seem to do it to try out one kind of Mumbai street food after the other - first pao bhaji, now pan puri and ice cream cones, I do hope Arjun, who would have no immunity from having grown up in Canada, has taken his hepatitis shots, and that is serious!

And if Arjun says ONCE more that if she had not come into his life he would 'not have met this Arjun', I shall start climbing the wall, and probably fall down and really break my knee this time. I shall then sue PR for damages, and the loss of opportunities to inflict such posts on you folks, as I would not be able to bend the knee and thus to sit at my laptop and type. Yes, I know it is an alluring prospect, but don't get your hopes up any time soon!.

PS: And yes, bee5, WHERE did you get that splendid graphic from? Do tell!

Janhvi,
Are you saying this? Are you abandoning your own daughter, Purvi? 😆
About Ovi, really, how did Archana stood there and listened to that outrageous of an offer I couldn't understand. What kind of opinion one would get watching/listening to Ovi's that kind of talks? And as a parent that of Archana's? I am really keeping my patience.

I should Thank Shyamala for her thoughts on LMYAM. I am back to watching that show since the last 3 days and I must say the scenes between Sahil-Shivani have so much more substance and are natural than Arjun-Purvi's. (Wish AK gets little more comfortable doing romantic scenes😆). That mother-in-law is such a dictator but classy lady than this fisher-woman chik-chik type Savita.
I might very soon abandon PR itself 😆 PR is getting such a pakaoo serial. Purvi wants to sacrifice Arjun and cry buckets, probably I will courier some Syntex Tank, so that it helps some of the drought situation in Mumbai.🤣

If someone didn't know what a Syntex Tank is , it is a big container to store water, used in India.

Bee, I like your graphics and if the silly girl breaks up wih Arjun, I will join you as viewer to any test the PAP people put her upto! Having doubts is one thing, giving him up for that chit of a girl is something else. I am watching the episode as I type and I cannot believe the gall and deceit of that other girl!! If she knows her mother loves her and the rest of the family, how dare Ovi demand such a high price from Archana?

No, no, Janhvi, how can we break with tradition? So, though I would have liked to do it with a spiffy graphic like bee5, here is THE LAST WORD, served up to you on a chased silver platter. The garnish is watercress, a clingy substance, I believe.

Dear Shyamala,
What do I say, I am LMHO (Laughing my head off)🤣 reading your reply.

Yes, I was referring to the lake-side scene of S-S, coincidentally with an ice-cream, but so many folds better than our Kulfi and Paani Puri scene here. Such a pity! I really didn't know how to react watching today's ArVi scene - especially the ones where they went from different ages as couple. I am tongue-tied and at a loss for adjectives!

In LMYAM I also loved the scenes between Anup with his Foofha. His interactions with his partner are really quite something. Very unique. What a wholesome entertainer it is. I am starting to feel if I should bother about Vishnu, Varsha, Bihari babu, Ovi, Punni, Archana, Manav, Arjun, Purvi and their entire Ramayana!

p.s: I just google for the graphics and look at the 'Images' section.

Bee, such is the fate of mothers, alas! I wish I could shake some sense into her!! Just as I was dreaming of all the jubilation when she finally and irrevocably gets hitched to Arjun, Ovi had to throw a wrench, spanner, why, the entire works to ruin the festivities.

Oh, that is good to know LMYAM airs at 5:30 though that might be a little too early for me.

Shyamala, served with watercress, I would be hard pressed not to accept!

Bee, so glad you like Anoop :) Ma Sisodia for all her aristocracy doesn't come across as evil, nothing below the belt even when she politely takes the blame for her son's behavior in "misleading" Shivani and her parents.

Janhvi,

You are welcome.

Changing track, I like Himmanshoo (why can't the dratted boy be content with the standard number of 'o's and 'm's?) as Anoop too. In fact I like him a great deal.

The part calls for an almost unbelievable degree of Zen-like calm on the surface, with a hint underneath of restlessness, and of suppressed irritation at the persistent inroads made by others on his privacy . He is helplessly unhappy with his inability to stand up to his mother (the webpage says that she is his badi ma, or his tayee, but they might have changed their minds by now). He is not in the least like a gaay, as someone wrote, but is a very complex character.

Himmanshoo plays Anoop very, very well indeed. He has large, limpid eyes, and he uses them well, both when he is affectionate, as towards Sahil, and when he is resigned, as with his mother, and they narrow in exasperation when he ticks Manasi off. All in all, he is a pleasure to watch.

Even Shivani, who is not pretty, does very well at times, as when she looks at Sahil's back at the lake; one can see her heart in her tired eyes, red rimmed with weeping. The only weak link is Manasi, who looks and acts dull.

But 3 good ones out of 4 is a lot in any serial. And then there is the grand matriarch, Rajalaksimi Sisodia, who, as you note, is a class act by any standards. She radiates good breeding from top to toe. Rather like a (much more portly) female version of DK in PR I.

The funny thing is that with all her domination over her family, she does not understand either of her sons, especially her ladla Sahil. She actually believes that once he starts meeting the Jyothi of her choice, he will forget Shivani. She has a rude shock coming.

Dear bee5

Glad to have made you laugh!

@red
. I will provide the adjective. It was ludicrous. Especially the old Parsi couple, where they had not taken the least pains to age them even a bit, and the 'old' lady had black bangs that she kept pushing out of her eyes.

The roadside food scenes are all copies of old scenes between Manav and Archana, but they belonged in that milieu. Moreover, the way Purvi shrieked at Arjun to stop for the pani puri stall (which was still ahead of them though he had taken at least 20 metres to stop; Purvi must have excellent distance vision!) , and the way she seemed to be coaxing Arjun to take her there, were both so affected. Like the heroines of the 1960s and 70s.

Lastly, Arjun's You are the best thing that even happened to me and but for you I would never have met the New Arjun, have been repeated so often that I have lost count. I think that he must have mugged up the page from the dialogue sheet for one of their earlier scenes together!

Finally, we know that doom lies ahead, but he does not. Why then does he go on asking her to promise that she will never leave him? It is significant that she never has any similar doubts about him, and no wonder. She knows that he is a prize joru ka ghulam, and that as I had remarked in my Dark Clouds Gathering post, she has him on a leash like a tame puppy.
