Did both manav and arjun donate to the same temple? Are they competing for the same hundi competition? Hope it is not a big D and K family competition !! Little confused after reading some posts.

JD ( can I call u by that name? Saw it in one of d posts n I think it sounds cool 😊 )
im sure there was no time limit to arjun's challenge, I rmbr pretty well archana not mentioning it coz at that time d point came up my mind, as to when has arjun to give her d money...
and abt d hundi compt not sure, will it be a inter chawl contest?? They belong to different chawls, I think it'l be held separately...

Glad to have been able to cheer you up so much!

Yes, Arjun and Manav belong to quite different chawls, and even otherwise, I do not really see Manav climbing the pyramid any more. It is not for 55 year olds, unless they want to get sponsorship from Revital, and show him winning anyway!

Dear pc76,

Thank you ever so much.

I was happy that I was able to put across the sadness and emptiness at the core of Ovi's being and make so many of us sympathise with her.. She is NOT in the wrong, it is never wrong to fall in love even if it is not reciprocated, only unwise.

I am afraid that I differ from you on the remedy, however. I feel that no amount of talking to her, however sympathetically, by those she knows, especially Arjun or DK, will help. She will NOT agree that Arjun does not love her and, moreover, that he loves someone else. Meeting those most closely involved with her tragedy will not help her, it will only make matters worse.

When one wants to get over a broken relationship, one does not talk to the person who leaves or his parents. One just goes away and tries to lead as normal a life as possible, and one day, the pain disappears. Whence that heart-rending quotation from Aeschylus.

But then Ovi is not normal these days. She needs professional help. The pity of it is that Manav will never take this step, out of the fear that she will be labelled crazy, as indeed she was, by most of us.

Perhaps, he will come round to that, and perhaps her psychiatrist might grow to care for her, and vice versa, as In Christie's The Third Girl. He woould be the one person to both understand what she is going thru and to help her sort herself out. What wishful thinking!

Splendid Writing!

Purvi has accepted Arjun completely. It is beautiful how she has changed after the bridge scene. Very nice. And with Sulo aaji and her trust in Arjun and Almighty, she is empowered for seeing through Arjun's challenges till they unite!
Purvi's acceptance has made Arjun even mightier 😉. He was brave before, now, he seems brave and completely fearless. How nice!
CVs are doing a great job in blossoming Arjun-Purvi's love for each other, but I really want them to help Ovi. DK's insenstivity to Ovi is getting on my nerves. 😡. His talk with Ovi whom he regards (hopefully conibues to) as his daughter will make a big difference to Ovi's mental state. Yes! she was wrong in one-sided love, but, she is human too and needs to be helped.

Dear Inkpen4877,

Thanks a lot.

You are right about Purvi, whence the title of my post, a riff on John Bunyan's The Pilgrim's Progress. You are right about Ovi too, one's heart goes to her in her deewanapan. I hope she comes out it intact, and Aeschylus is proved right once more.

Lovely Post!

What I liked most about this episode is after her confrontation with Ovi, Purvi sees Arjun, and she isn't shy about her affection or their relationship. She knows what they have is real and it feels like she finally has faith in it.

Ovi- I actually admired her performance today, normally she is too shrill, too annoying, and too frustrating for me to tolerate- but today I actually enjoyed her. There was a difference in their prayers too- Ovi says that the has always and only asked for Arjun, Purvi isn't asking for Arjun well because she already has him, but more so she's asking for his well being. Today I saw a strength in Purvi that I haven't seen in awhile- but I did enjoy it.

Jyoti,

No, there is no time limit. Nor are Manav and Arjun in the same or even adjacent chawls. Moreover, I do not see how a 55+ Manav can be shown winning a dahi handi contest, unless it is the result of a sponsorship by Revital!

You know, I am happy I was able to convey the emptiness and the sadness at the core of Ovi's being. I do not see any sudden visual revelation as shattering her delusions, and again, it must not be so hard to bear that she is shattered as well. There will then be, willy nilly, a lifelong burden of guilt darkening the Arjun-Purvi relationship, and that would be a great pity.

I think that Ovi should go away, and the Aeschylus solution will work; the Greeks were very wise in matters of the heart and also inured to tragedy. But, as I wrote in another reply above, that is unlikely to happen, nor the other sensible solution of going to a psychiatrist, who just might end up as her soulmate, a la Agatha Christie's The Third Gril.

We have to keep one other thing in mind. Purvi's request to Bappa can be fulfilled without Arjun and Purvi being united. But Ovi's prayer for Arjun to come back to her is also unquestionably heartfelt and sincere, as is her faith in Bappa. And it cannot be granted without shattering the dreams of Arjun and Purvi. So now, is Baapa going to fail Ovi? Can a TV serial show Him as failing?

Btw, just saw the live episode here. I felt bad watching arjun's optimism and his hopes that it is happily ever afrer once he shells out the 10k :( poor boy, doesnt know his MIL yet... Even Purvi didnt look confident about it. She looked worried a little. I hope he doesnt have to face too much heartache. But, all in all, loved their interaction. Purvi was so relaxed she even forgot her aai's dikhat !!! Good for her. Atleast they had some nice moments with each other.
Dont feel like calling Ovi , crazy chit anymore unless she freaks me out again. Felt sorry for her the first time. It maybe because she wasnt shrieking and also we are more secure about Purvi now !! Hopefully her delusions get shattered soon, for her own sake. Anyone talking to her, DK/Arjun as seems to be the demand is not going to help her, it has to be some kind of a visual impact that will jolt her. Maybe something between Arvi. Probably not too much of arvi tomorrow, looks like it is the D-family's turn.

Oh wonderful perspective Shyamala! I agree, if the therapist turns out be the true love for Ovi that would be dramatic... wow I wish the CVs that way... I just want Ovi to get help.. poor girl ... I feel bad for her..

I just want the Dahi Handi in ArVi's chawl to be won by Arjun and that should have 10,000 Rupees. He should take the 10,000 and go give it to his MIL Archana... this mechanic avatar is oure torture...😡
