Ashu, I have the day off! Yippee!
Naava, where were you when everyone kept accusing me of Arjun bashing? :) I shared the exact same sentiments of what makes Arjun tick on a couple of posts dedicated to Mr. AK. I agree he has to prove himself, if it was my daughter with whose affections he had toyed with, I would have said a few choice words to his face and forbade her (Ovi) to ever see him again. I would have warned my other (Purvi) to keep as far away from him as possible. I have no issue with Archana wanting Purvi to stay away from Arjun, as you rightly said she doesn't know if he loves Purvi truly, and with his track record with Ovi, what if this is another lark and he leaves Purvi high and dry?
Archana can ask Arjun to prove his love, and if she thinks staying in the chawl is the true test of love, so be it. I am not sure I would have chosen that as a test.
But Archana saying Arjun has no identity of his own is wrong, yes, Purvi helped in that one deal where she told the clients they would build temples along with houses but I chalk that down to his inexperience with the culture of the market he is dealing with and as a good assistant, Purvi saved the day as she was familiar with the culture. She nearly lost him a deal too the day of the lift scene due to Vinay. I wouldn't put that one incident as a black mark against his business acumen. The show said this India business was Arjun's baby and he has done well. On his own admission, he has never lost a deal. So while Archana has every right to reprimand, distrust him for leading the two girls on simultaneously, throwing aspersions on his earning capacity or his name is not kosher. She needed to have kept that separate is all I am saying. I wouldn't care if it was the richest, smartest, savviest guy, if he toyed with my daugter's heart, he would be mud, period.
I also didn't like the way Archana placed that ultimatum on Purvi, choose between Arjun or I without even according Purvi a chance to explain. If my daughter was in Purvi's situation, I would yell, I would scream but I would give her a chance to talk, to explain.
