Jhanvi and Ashu

Archana's change of opinion about Arjun is not only logical it is very right imo.

When Archu thought highly of him because of DK and Aashna etc. and when she thought he was in love with Ovi (because Arjun pretended it to be true) she had no idea he was courting one and loving another ...both !! of them a daughter of hers. I would be furious, wouldn't you? He came into India with a huge chip on his shoulder, about how he was the big boss and he would do what he wanted. He wasn't nice, and he was arrogant. And he wasn't nice to Purvi. This is the only reality ARchana knows because Arjun nor Purvi either one, let Archana know what was happening.

Of course Archana would think he just played a game with both girls because he was a rich successful businessman who could do (as he already stated) what he wanted. What other conclusion could she come to? (Interestingly, it wasn't his own business sense that saved the company over and over but Purvi's business instincts.)

While you and i may know of a softer different side of Arjun, Archana did not. he needs to prove himself. He actually needs to prove himself to me!!! 😆 It has nothing to do with "money" it has to do with misuse of power, which, for all practical purposes, Arjun let people think that was what was driving him. He needs to pay a price for all the harm he caused. don't you think?

Debu, mine would too!! 3 times or is it 4 now? Did you see my post congratulating you on becoming a Goldie? It was moved to the member's lounge corner. Congrats! You go, girl!

Ashu, I have the day off! Yippee!

Naava, where were you when everyone kept accusing me of Arjun bashing? :) I shared the exact same sentiments of what makes Arjun tick on a couple of posts dedicated to Mr. AK. I agree he has to prove himself, if it was my daughter with whose affections he had toyed with, I would have said a few choice words to his face and forbade her (Ovi) to ever see him again. I would have warned my other (Purvi) to keep as far away from him as possible. I have no issue with Archana wanting Purvi to stay away from Arjun, as you rightly said she doesn't know if he loves Purvi truly, and with his track record with Ovi, what if this is another lark and he leaves Purvi high and dry?

Archana can ask Arjun to prove his love, and if she thinks staying in the chawl is the true test of love, so be it. I am not sure I would have chosen that as a test.

But Archana saying Arjun has no identity of his own is wrong, yes, Purvi helped in that one deal where she told the clients they would build temples along with houses but I chalk that down to his inexperience with the culture of the market he is dealing with and as a good assistant, Purvi saved the day as she was familiar with the culture. She nearly lost him a deal too the day of the lift scene due to Vinay. I wouldn't put that one incident as a black mark against his business acumen. The show said this India business was Arjun's baby and he has done well. On his own admission, he has never lost a deal. So while Archana has every right to reprimand, distrust him for leading the two girls on simultaneously, throwing aspersions on his earning capacity or his name is not kosher. She needed to have kept that separate is all I am saying. I wouldn't care if it was the richest, smartest, savviest guy, if he toyed with my daugter's heart, he would be mud, period.

I also didn't like the way Archana placed that ultimatum on Purvi, choose between Arjun or I without even according Purvi a chance to explain. If my daughter was in Purvi's situation, I would yell, I would scream but I would give her a chance to talk, to explain.

I do not think that arjun is at fault. he never realised his love for purvi until the time of purvi's engagement. He did not strategize on how to get purvi why he was so-called dating ovi. it just happened.

I also want to be fair to arjun, he never knew that his father was giving him a surprise engagement. When he informed his father about someone in his life, his father thought it was ovi he was referring to and not purvi. So it was mixed up from the very beginning.

I dont know how I would have reacted if, I was in his position at the time of the engagement. Maybe i would have done the same and explain later as he did as to not cause any embarrasment to ovi, my father, manav etc...

Rayadallie, Arjun is not bad, there were a set of unfortunate events, he made the wrong choice on the engagement day (as he knows now in hindsight) and I don't think anyone here is questioning that he truly loves Purvi. We are just looking at it from a mother's point of view. I think if it was my daughter and the guy got engaged to someone else even while being head over heels in love with my child, I would still be upset for putting my daughter in second place, right or wrong as that may be, and I would still look at him and his love with askance. That is just the nature of a mother so Archana doubting his love is not a mistake according to me. Her test is silly and the reasons she cited are senseless to me. Maybe the epi today will allow her to explain her position in detail and this post might be moot at that point :)

😆 😆 Jhanvi...you must have me mixed up with someone else..😆 😆 I have posted 100 times all these same thoughts..From the beginning...i have no idea why you have never seen them. 😕

We'll have to wait and see this week what Archana continues to say about Arjun.. I still think it has nothing to do with his earning capacity, but his thinking he can do whatever he wants as a successful business man. Why would she question his earning ability? That makes no sense. It's how he used both of the girls.

Also, Archana's ultimatum to Purvi, i wrote quite a bit on yesterday, saying it was very wrong and why. How I would never ever ask my child to choose between me and someone/something else.
I won't go into all of it again, but i have actually known people who have done this and i am always horrified.

(I must be writing in invisible ink!! 🤣 )

Naava :) meant where were you on my posts, lol! My laptop crashed on Sunday so I have been on IF on my phone infrequently :( I did see archverma's reference to your post and knew you shared the same view as I. :)

I have seen parents do worse than that, my own cousin :) she was locked up by her parents and hidden until the guy came and rescued her true filmi style! He found her address because she tossed it from a window and asked whoever picked it up to send it to him!!
