Kind attention to ALL,

The reason im FORCED to make this thread is coz huge confusion prevails about introduction of New Rules made recently by devashree-h. Hence no separate pm to the mods. Kindly address this issue here once and for all in the wake of larger forum interest as this is about QUESTION OF LAW and NOT QUESTION OF FACT!

Recently a member was warned for 'LIKING' a post and was held EQUALLY responsible as the poster. This warning was issued by devashree_h to sharon di aka suan.Devashree-h's arguement was that before liking a post we the members should know for ourselves whether its an offensive post or not!! On challenging this New Rule by myself and sharon di, our grievances have been thrashed and the concerned thread' hiten tejwani car spins out of control' has also been thrashed too! The grievance remains unanswered.

I ask the Dev Team, What Are These Double Rules ??

This New Rule made by devashree_h has NOT been specified in the rules thread made by Ravjot!! And before issuing this warning, the new rule had not been updated and still has not! .
Kindly enlighten the members about this rule. If you want to make THIS rule why not update it in the Rules thread?

Or are you trying to say that: DONT LIKE POSTS ???!!! Coz we do not understand what is meant by an offensive post or not! That is the job of DT and not members!

I sincerely request the channel moderator to step in and clear this matter.
If there is no such Rule, devashree_h must furnish a WRITTEN PUBLIC APOLOGY for Unduly mis-using her Position and Power to victimise the Members.!
Earlier too jnawaz had issued a similar ultra-vires warning to jia(gremlin.) which was later withdrawn by CM. Ravjot knows about this already. Matter is over and i wont stretch it.But once again, history repeats itself by another DT member? I mean kya chal raha hai yaar? If you want that we should Leave this forum and go away then pls do tell us on our faces. Inspite of so much contribution yet if this is the state then its so disappointing.

You guys first ruffle our feathers and then expect us not to react?

Enough is enough and the water is flown above the heads!

I also support u Varun and fully agree with ur post.. I know now they trash this thread also.. But its height of injustice being done. There was no such rules 'Not To Like The Post' but still Sharon di was told to not like the post.. Aare its our wish na which post to like and which we should not like?

Fair post varun...rules made should be followed by all...including the one's making them.you can surely give a warning to a member IF they are belying the official and quoted rules but if they are issuing warnings outside the rule structure than that is unfair.Either make it completely transparent in what is expected...or do not give undue warnings for not following rules which are not officially written down in the Code of Conduct. It makes people making rules bad.
Another thing...although Sharon di is one of the most respected member's on the forum...it is not about her being given a warning. It is a case of authority using power towards anybody and of unfairess towards any member of the forum.
Moderators...if you are reading...although we have contention regarding the rules you make...wether fair or unfair...you are respected. Please do not make us lose this respect and be an epitome of fair judgement.if you close down the topic...it is you prerogative...but before that give answer's to the questions raised regarding the validity of rules as we are attached to the forum like you guys are...the welfare of the forum and the liability of the decorum to be maintained is the resposibity of both.So it is not we against you.it is us.

i don't find anything wrong in what devashree said
liking somebody's post is like ENDORSING it
now if the original post was offensive ... then the endorsement & extending ur support towards that post is also offensive
good that devashree took such a action

No one is disputing that "liking" a post is supporting it.
That is a given.
We are all intelligent enough here, to understand that.
The point being made here, is that it should not be up to the members to know if a post is considered "offensive" or not, and therefore know if one should "like" it or not.
Even posts that are obviously offensive to the majority, may not be offensive to some.
Therefore, it is up to the Mods to determine if a post is offensive or not.
It should never be left up to a member to determine that.
In my case with the thread about Hiten's accident, I had "liked" the post before Devashree ruled that it was offensive, so I think it was very unfair of her to warn me after the fact.
If I had "liked" the post after she had ruled it offensive, then I would most certainly agree with her warnigng to me.
Devashree would have seen my username at the end of the post before she issued her warning, so she cannot say that she did not know I had "liked" the post before her warning.
Opinions and views are subjective, so the Mods cannot expect members to always correctly judge a post to determine whether it has violated a rule or not.
They constantly tell us not to be the forum police, yet here it is Devashree is expecting us to do just that, by determining for ourselves whether a post contravenes any of the forum rules.
I hope this thread will see the involvement of the other Mods, from Ravjot down, and that once and for all, the interpretation of the rules can be made absolutely clear and be implemented fairly and without favour, across the board.
