What Bond couldn't achieve Kai Po Che did!

Television actor Sushant Singh Rajput seems to have benefitted from the fallout between Farhan Akhtar and filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor.
Farhan and Abhishek worked together for their 2008 release, Rock On!!, but if rumours are to
be believed, Abhishek waited for
Farhan's dates for his next, Kai
Po Che! for two years, after
which the filmmaker had to rope
in an all new cast and
production house.
The episode worked in Sushant's favour because he
auditioned for the role originally
meant for Farhan and
immediately bagged it. For this
film, he even let go of offers
from big banners, says a source.
The insider confirms, "He had to
sign a three-film contract with
the current production house.
This role really excited him." The
film, based on Chetan Bhagat's
novel Three Mistakes of my Life,
stars Sushant, Amit Sadh and Raj
Kumar Yadav (of Ragini MMS
fame) along with Amrita Puri (of
Blood Money). The cast and crew
have wrapped up their schedule
in Ahmedabad and are headed
to Hyderabad. Interestingly, they
shot at Ahmedabad's Sabarmati
grounds where Daniel Craig's
latest James Bond movie, Skyfall,
was scheduled to be shot but
they couldn't secure permission.
"The ground is very sacred as it
is related to Mahatma Gandhi.
We feel that this is the reason
why the Bond team was denied
permission to shoot there," says
a source from the film unit.
The shooting of KPC was stalled
for a while in Ahmedabad
because of the extreme heat.
Incidentally, both Sushant and
Amit had to be hospitalised and
the shooting resumed only after
the duo was fit to face the
camera again. The scenes were
shot at real locations without
any sets being created.
One of Amit's close friends
reveals that when Amit bagged
this role, he was just recovering
from his break-up with Neeru
Bajwa. "But he is a happy man
now. He had spent years to build
Neeru's career and now that she
has broken up with him, he
wants to concentrate on his
career."
