Hello everyone...hope you are all sitting tight cuz this is going to be one long post...(at least i think so)...the issue that was brought up today was one and at the same time it was many...one issue lead to others and so on and so forth...so...i'm here to write it all out, hasht it all out and take care of it all so that in the future there are no more problems...or at least less problems...

*~*~*~*~*~*
General Forum Rules
PR forum doesnt have any special forum rules...let me rephrase...PR forum didnt used to have special forum rules but in light of todays happenings i think its in everyone's best interest if we had some...
1. NO ACTOR/CHARACTER/MEMBER BASHING/NAME CALLING
Any member that breaks this rule, regardless of how minor or how major will get an increase in their warning level IMMEDIATELY. Consider THIS as your WARNING, any future issues will result in WL being raised. IF is a place where people are free to share their ideas and opinions but not at the cost of being rude, disrespectful and down right mean. By all means, discuss to your hearts content, however there are limits to what we will tolerate. This inclused attacking or harrassing members for what their views are on the shows, plots, actors and/or characters. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and as long as they are following the rules, who are we to say that their thinking is "wrong".
2. NO COMPARISON TOPICS
yes...i know that its only natural for comparisons to be drawn especially at a time like this when Hiten's entry is still somewhat new to us all.. However, As per IF COC, comparison topics are not allowed for one very specific reason - they cause unrest and fights. Every actor has their fan following who this that actor is the best in their minds. When we make comments like Hiten is better than Sushant or Sushant is better than Hiten...its only natural for fans to defend their star. You are welcome to critique skills and things but not compare. Keep only one star involved in the post and not both. This goes for any conversations about Sushant/Ankita and/or Hiten/Ankita.
3. STICK TO APPROPRIATE THREAD TOPICS
what i will do today is create completely new threads for everything, and i mean EVERYTHING. New EDT, new apprecian threads. Lets start off fresh with new threads where you discuss only what that thread is for. Feel free to gush on and on about your favorite star, jodi and/or character to your hearts content. Keep in mind that just because its an appreciation thread doesnt mean that all other forum rules dont apply. That means no bashing, no name callling or member attacking can be done.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Forum Orginization and Reaching DT Members
another issue...the most major one was that of the DT being accused of sitting back and relaxing and letting the forum go to h*ll (my words, not any one elses), so lets fix that as well.
1. REPORT...REPORT...REPORT
i cannot stress enough how important it is to hit the REPORT button. That button is there for a reason. DT members have so many other committments other than IF, but thats not to say that the committments are any more or less important than IF. What i am saying is that when we come on we are maybe on quickly to see if everything is Ok...when nothing is reported we think aal izz well and we leave. By hitting that REPORT button, its the first thing we see when we log on, we cant miss it. If after reporting it the issue isnt tended to or if you're unhappy with the way it was taken care of, please PM us so that we can take care of it.
2. PM DT IF ISSUE NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION
If an issues is so great that it needs immediate attention, please PM one of the DT members. If you're not getting a response PM all of us, we dont mind. Its better that ALL of us know whats going on and what the issues are then just ONE of us knowing and having all the burden on their shoulders alone.
3. CLOSED TOPICS
If any topic and/or comment breaks any of the rules stated in the "general forum rules" section of this post, it will be immediately closed or the inappropriate comments will be trashed. Like i said, there is no place for bashing or name calling on the forum that includes attacking members. I want to put it out there because i dont want members complaining that the topics were closed unfairly. Breaking rules results in closed topics - its as simple as that.
*~*~*~*~*~*
ok..phew...that is my rant for now...you all wanted rules and so you've got them...please keep in mind that as the DT we are not your dushmans...we are here to enjoy the show and to help you out with issues that arise...we understand your sentiments and your frustrations with whats been happening lately, but i hope that you can understand ours as well.
If you have any questions or concerns that you dont want to discuss on this thread please feel free to send ME (jnawaz) a PM.
Thanks,
PR Dev Team

Wah ji wah, another rules thread! After making multiple of these have you not realized their lack of efficacy?

Considering how the other post was closed - On an aside, you guys really don't like discourse do you? Whenever there is such a topic you shut it down, without giving anyone a chance to reply to you on an open platform. It's difficult to explain what we think when you give zero chances for discussion... just makes you all look bad, by making your own word the end all be all. - I would like to say something here:

As moderators, all of you are similar to law enforcement, making sure that the rules are followed by one and all. Though leads and call-ins (similar to the report button and PMs here) are always helpful, without constant vigilance would a law enforcement team ever function? Say the speed limit somewhere is changed from 70 mph to 50 mph, but everyone knows that the police will not do anything if you go over the speed limit, despite the fact that they are in the same area when you do go over the limit, then why will anyone follow the new speed limit? Or, in allusion to two of the DT members, if there is never any police around (at least not visibly), and they only depended on people to call in and report speeding, would perpetrators ever really be caught? No, most people would continue going past the speed limit to their hearts' desire.

What I want to say is that all of these new fancy rules that are constantly posted are of absolutely NO use if there is nobody there to enforce them constantly. In reference to Resham's reply, no, nobody will "grow up" just because they want to make your lives easier. If the job is too hard for you then simply don't do it and hand it off to someone else, you are not being held at gunpoint here to be a moderator.

Edit: I rarely speak out and usually only tend to my own business on here, trying not to get into any pangas. But seriously, this is just going in circles now! If my post comes off as scathing or flippant then so be it, because it's just too hard to watch this state of affairs without saying anything.

@ toothbrush: so what do you suggest...how can we monitor the forum...do you expect us to read every single topic and every single comment made in ever single thread? using your speeding and police reference...the police catch speeders when they are on the road and they have their trusty speedometer with them...consider the "report button" our speedometer...police dont patrol the same stretch of highway 24/7...they are there at certain times then they are not there...how do you suggest we better monitor the forum that doesnt have us spending our entire day reading everyones posts ...as far as closing posts go and not "allowing" you all to discuss our short comings...the only thing mentioned was how unsuccessfully we do our "job"...no one offered any suggestions or solutions to problems...it came off as an attack fest on the DT...only pointing out flaws and nothing more...if all that was going to be done was point flaws...that could have been addressed in another manner

That is exactly what I suggest, actually. Considering how long each of you have been in your positions, it shouldn't take but a few minutes of skimming to actually do that. It's not like there are fifty forum pages worth of posts each day.

using your speeding and police reference...the police catch speeders when they are on the road and they have their trusty speedometer with them...consider the "report button" our speedometer...police dont patrol the same stretch of highway 24/7...they are there at certain times then they are not there...

That was merely an example, but if you choose to continue with it, then you said it yourself actually: they can only catch people when they are physically there or constantly monitoring. That was the whole point. The reports can pile up but until you do something to go out there and monitor (and actually READ the posts in question!!), nothing will really happen. You, in fact, have the advantage of being able to go back through posts a few hours later and still being able to moderate. This was just an example that we can go back and forth over all day, I used it to make my point clearer, not because I consider you to actually be as accountable as the police.

how do you suggest we better monitor the forum that doesnt have us spending our entire day reading everyones posts

I have no suggestions. That falls under your jurisdiction. If you are looking for an easy way out, then sorry to say I don't quite see one.

...as far as closing posts go and not "allowing" you all to discuss our short comings...the only thing mentioned was how unsuccessfully we do our "job"...no one offered any suggestions or solutions to problems...it came off as an attack fest on the DT...only pointing out flaws and nothing more...if all that was going to be done was point flaws...that could have been addressed in another manner

Then how should we put light on our grievances? By buttering you up and being two-faced? Also, none of us are moderators and do not have your supreme knowledge on how it is all handled. If you want for us to point out an easy way for something to be done, then I repeat, I do not see one and if someone else does find one they will tell you. Another thing is that there is no solution we can give to all of you simply not reading posts and keeping track of what happens, similar to how there is no solution to the lack of enthusiasm or general laziness the DT shows. That is something you all need to fix, not us; all we can do is point it out in hopes that one day someone will read and actually comprehend what we say.

Perhaps you can shed light on what you consider your responsibilities to be? If it is just quickly going through reports (without using much intellect on what the root of the problem is), making topics sticky, and periodically posting new rules, then maybe we will stop expecting an involved moderation team.

Qaidey qaidey qaidey, inke kya hai faidey?

Why would we attack DT for no reason? What will we get out of it? Do we have some personal dushmani from you people? We only tried telling you where things were going wrong...that too after addressing it so many times in many different topics that things are getting out of hands but you guys still didn't bothered to respond..so we decided to open a whole new topic, hoping that atleast that will catch your attention and that you will ask, discuss and understand, what exactly we are saying but nope instead that topic was closed considering an attack! 😕

You guys didn't even tried understanding what we were trying to say, instead took it personally! 😕 We were telling you guys that you all are not responsible enough aur humare liye hi aik aur Rules thread bana dali? 😆

I agree 100% that mistakes were made from both sides even some Sushant fans went a little overboard but then give warnings to both sides na...why only shun Sushant fans off by saying that he has left by his own choice and get over him accept that the NEW Manav is Hiten and etc etc etc Kyun bhai? And if we don't then we are the one's polluting and spreading negativity in the forum? 😆

Agar agree kero toh peacemakers aur agar nahi toh pollution? Acha hai! 😆

Thank you for putting up the rules Jaz, but we did already knew these! When we can admit that there were mistakes made even by our side..then why can't you guys admit that you were lacking in many places, without taking it as a personal attack?

Sirf rules thread banane se kuch nahi hoga..you have to be more involved than just that! Please see the number of people agreeing to the points we made...even the silent members who don't post but see all the brouhaha going in the forum, felt the same and not only just that, trust me when I tell you this that I have gotten plenty of pms also by many silent members who are never visible but watch everything going in the forum, telling me how frustrated and suffocated they feel seeing the environment of the forum...so many people can't be wrong can they now?

I STRONGLY oppose this.

I did not make the post to 'attack' anyone. I made the post to air genuine grievances, give the DT an open platform to clarify issues in case of some misunderstandings in our minds, explain themselves, to discuss and end the matter. (I mentioned all this in the thread!)

If the DT refused to discuss and rather took it as personally then it is another matter about which I cannot do anything. The DT does not want to discuss things with the members, the DT closed the thread. They themselves lost the chance to discuss solutions, which would have come up later had you given your side of the situation and helped us understand your viewpoint. But no the thread was closed, and the maker of the thread was declared unfair!

And yes, please dont say again that I should have PMed because I have told Resham and Devu twice why I did not PM.

Thanks for the rules. Hopefully they will be followed by everyone and proper action will be taken if they are not.
