Hi everyone, wonder if you all still write with the same excitement as I once saw you all get into šŸ‘. Never really saw any place like this where all gather to discuss shows! Indians take these telenovels to warmly, perhaps only Spain or Russians can compare? 😳

I got into this lovely little story which my Indian family would sit to see with the whole family in a room, eating fruits and getting all emotional šŸ˜† ... it was quite amazing now to think of it back home in Poland, India is just sooo different 😊, but its quite nice too.
The thing perhaps was never this series, and I realized that at some point that it was rather a family get together after a day kinda thing. A sharing of thoughts, warmth, keeping focus on the TV. Its a topic, Pavitra Rishta! ... but then they drifted from this series so many times to topics of some strange relative with whom a similar thing happened 😃, and it went on and on, keeping the serial running on its pace ... and the discussion in its own pace šŸ˜†.
This serial taught me lots about Indian families, and no I dont mean their stories, but the stories I SAW due to this serial and its timing, and my own parent in laws and the way it created a window of opportunity for me to sit with all together 😊, and how I found generous help in known many small things about India from friends in here...
I must say, I had a wonderful time with this serial, you all and India ... and now that I am in Poland, away from all this ... I do miss it all often 😊...
I hope Pavitra Rishta does well 😊, and so do you all ...
Here'z a tribute to all in this fanforum:

Hi Polki,
What a beautiful post. The memories you've shared indicate some warm and precious times you shared with family members.
It's great that a tv serial can create such wonderful family times.
I love the song you shared with us.

What was amazing at one time was Indians or Non indians from all over the world, all gethered around in one section PR land wanting to know more abt the culture and be part of it..Never knew some of the members who were not from India or Indians..
PZ you being from Poland, FIFz and Sharon from Trini not understanding Hindi still came and discussed - shared their thoughts and we all became part of a friendly group...Boy do I miss those days...

Varsha,
@blue...that is what I miss the most too, the sense of family we had in common with the show because we could relate to the characters. The PR of old was like typical families, with typical family issues. That has certailny changed after this most recent leap.
We had something of substance to discuss regarding the show, whether it be a character, a plot, a particular scene etc. There were positive things we talked about, more realistic issues etc.
I saw the show as an opportunity to learn about Indian (the country) culture, the language (a bit), the religion and customs, (as they pertain to India). Asking others like you, who are a part of all this, what certain things meant, what people of your culture would do in certain situations etc. All that was what made me love PR and become an active member of this forum.
I still love this forum and all the friends I've made here, but the joy, the innocence of the old PR is gone, never to return it seems, and therefore the tone of the discussions have changed, and our sense of joy and happiness we associated with the old PR.
I don't think Ekta and ZEE TV realised the powerful instrument they had, in the form of PR, to unite so many countries with so many differing cultures and languages, and use the show as a means to showcase their country and all that it has to offer. What a sad situation indeed!

šŸ˜†I can see that many faces are gone in here 😊 ...

Well Poland is much different from India as you would know, Europe and South Asia have vast distance between them.

The best things these show does to people who are not indians is that perhaps it creates a moment where everyone gathers together around an object, and just forget everything else and try to get lost in a trans! They talk and discuss hypothetical issues, and sometimes to justify their time invested in these stories, they try and relate them with the real life incidents of some relative! Its really quite interesting, and atleast this is how I saw it develop!

I loved the moments were my hub, mother/father in law, sister in law ... all would gather together and me there as well... trying to understand and eating fruits and all!

The timing of this show was quite remarkable as well. In India I guess its everybody's dinner time eh? 😃

For me it was all about a get together with a topic. Beyond that it make me think on Indian mindset. I couldn't figure out the frequent "sacrifices" and all ... the grief and sorrow on things which could always be dealt in a better way šŸ˜†šŸ˜†!

Oh I remember POOR SATISH!!! ... that was a pity ... wonder whats happening with him now šŸ˜† Forget his wife's name ... she was never a pleasant person as far as I remember šŸ¤¢šŸ˜†.

As for non Indians...I suppose its all due to a reason. I had been browsing the net since a considerable period of time to learn more about Indian stuff and what an Indian family would expect from the daugter in law... all I can say is that I got lots of support from this forum.

I didn't really wish to take anything from a hypothetical story ... but the story brought in real people with great perspectives! Certainly it provided the entertainment get-aways from the serious life that lays in life!!

I dont even remember much of the story of the characters, but i remember the moments i shared surrounding this SERIAL 😳 ... and it was all good šŸ‘
