I think he has become ambitious for the right reasons- he is not after money the way Midas was, nor does he want money and position to stroke his ego, rather he wants to earn money so that his family should never have to bend in front of anyone or compromise again- the way it happened when he lost his baby. His desire shows his love and care for his family, and his willingness to give them a good life. He is not really money minded, if you think about it.
I think he is definitely not overdoing anything. He is trying to spend as much time with Archana as possible despite his professional commitments- he came to her Aai's b'day, he picks and drops Sachu to school, he is involved in all the household affairs and is not cut off from his house- he knows what is going on in his house and so on. He is balancing everything very well.
Yes, he has some time issues cos he is a busy man and has to do lots of work to keep up DK's goodwill, who gave him this job inspite of not having any qualifications. In that case I would expect Archana to be the better half and help in managing the situation- I would appreciate her more if she does that, cos marriage is all about complementing each other. It takes TWO to make a successful marriage. Even if they have less time, they can make their marriage successful if they are understanding and sensitive to each other. Quantity time is not as important as quality time.
DK and Ashna too are a couple who do not have much time for each other. But on the whole they are happy. Ashna feels momentarily at times that her husband does not view things in the same perspective as her, but she does not let it affect her marriage too much and handles things with maturity. If Manav and Archana too show such maturity in their relationship, they will also be happy.
