Well they had time. why didn't they change the game plan? they new it was going to be all or nothing deal.

so this why I said that maradonna is a legend and messi is a star player.

messi has skill but maradonna had skill and strategy

so messi took every shot he got himself with full passion

when maradonna joined world cup at seventeen he had a similar skill. he was a sharp shooter and he took every strike himself. but he kept getting fouled and then he wisened up.

he realized he was so good that the opposign team always used at least 3-5 defenders to block him. that is where is strategy came into evidence. instead of taking many of the shots himself, he took the opposing team's preoccupation and fear of him to make the opposing team defenders that were guarding him useless in their tactical positions, when one player gets a red card the team faces a major disadvantge and often loses the game no matter how good the team is.\

so imagina stategy where similar to a red card effect you take 3-5 memebers of the opposing team and remove them from their tactical positions (to defend their goal against you). whent he other team is missing the strength of 3-5 of their players, even a moderate stiker or forward from Argentina could make goals. The strategy of maradonna was to make sure that ARGENTINA MADE GOALS NOT MARADONNA.

similar strategies were used by Platini and Pele (with their own twist)

Anyways that is my take. As I said I see the games for the team collaborations not the star players so my take is very objective

A clinical post mortem on the game, 👍🏼

Second half they missed many a chance for the equalizer but Germans were too good on the given day, and i feel bad for Marodonna! The legend couldn't get the cup for the third time!😭

Argentina shud hav thot of this...it was so vry obvious tht Germany will target Messi....stupid ppl had no gameplan to tackle german attack or defense.

Only passion or talent doesnt help...they need to be channelised in proper way too as per the demands of the game...germany did tht...Argentina didnt...

i agree gauri but sometimes egos prevail.
that is why I said that the germans were more disciplined

Discipline leaves no room for ego. When star players do not score for months they get distract at any opportunity for record book glory.

I am not beign mean about Messi. Really I have nothing against him. but I have noticed with many star players these days. the pressure is for THEM TO SCORE NOT FOR THEM TO MAKE PLAYS SO THAT THE TEAM SCORES. if every successful game just needed the star players to score then why are tactical positions of mid fielders and forwards created. we should only ahve the striker, the defenders and the goal, right? if you ahev all these other team members you should use them. at the end of day the team will take home the cup not the star player. well maybe the MVP. but then the MVP recognition is secondary to winning the cup, always no exceptions

Brilliant Hope....u r so 😎 yea nobody can replace Maradona ...that English commentator ws so biased against Argentina in final 5 mins, insulting as well .... the best player in the world going home tom' his tone ws 🤢 damn ..maybe he rememberd Maradona's hand of God goal 😆

yes the hand of god. was that not done in his debut world cup? that will always be a shadow on his legend status.
