If you like that kind of a guy then I strongly recommend Pratigya to you . The hero is an uneducated gunda from a big feudal family but man ...is he stubborn and he just does not give a damn about anything . Brilliantly played by Arhaan behl. One of the best discoveries of TV .

tanyadi, this pratighy ashow is set in UP or Bihar. Not sure but anyways see I had a very good friend was with me from KG till 10th standard and then she went on a vacation to Bihar and I never saw her again for three years.

this girl was married forcibly to some thakur's son there(can you belive in this day and age a well educated girl, eh?) then she had a kid after 1 year of marriage,then the dude beat her all the time, she kept quiet, she asked to come see her parents after three years with son. when she was here she refused to go back. the husband followed her to bombay. he tried to beat her but her dad is very influential in the mob circles in bombay so he protected her. she insisted on filing a police complaint. the guy beat the policeman when they came to intervene. eh was thrown in jail. his folks came and bailed him out. then they took him back to Bihar. then he came back in 6 months to convince her to come back. she never ever went back. she joined a college. finished her degree. got a job. the son is in high school now. sweet kid. the guy/dad learnt his lesson. he is powerless in bombay. he comes every year during summer to visit. they are still married,e stranged however.

OK can you believe what I told you is TRUE STORY? I was shocked when it all happened. i totally blamed her parents and they never shouted at me becasue they new it was their fault. they also used to love me like a daughter so that is why I did not get any shouting when I was upset with them. this girl was my childhood friend. thank god she fixed her lfe herself.

Pratigya today reminded me of my friend.

OMG , things that happen to people . We cannot even imagine .I shudder to think what she must be thinking in that home ...

Hope , try and see it from the begining , whenever you get time ..Honestly , it's worth your time ...very very good show .

I know Pratigya is a very very true portrayal o this sort of environment . The hero is brilliant and also the guy who plays his dad is a good actor .

The setting is of Allahbad .

tanyadi do you know why she agreed to marry the dude?

her older sister was married to this guys older brother, who from all accounts is a very sensisble and respectable guy. the younger brother was like a sachin charachter. very chalo. he told my friend that if she does not marry him he will drink poison and die. my firend refused and wanted to come back but then when he found out that she was planning to leave he told the same thing to his older brother and bhabi (my friend's sis) and my friend's sis started getting harrassed by her MIL for troubling the families ladla beta. so to protect her sis from further torture and harassment this 10th standard girl decided to marry the dude. horryfing, she was 15 years old brave but really immature and scared. how the hell could anyone accept that she made a rational decision, eh?

people make mistakes Hope. But the sooner they realize thir mistakes the better . And also they must take full responsibility of their mistakes ...

tanyadi, today she works for a travel agent and is financially stable. I am so so so proud of her. everytime I go down she makes sure to see me even though she works a split shift.

When I think of her story I worship my hubby and my dad. literally worship them. we are lucky, hai na tanyadi? we just need to remember this more often.

Pratigya is beautiful .it is abt mega chauvinism against education
