Tanya Di, the things for which you are claiming Manav didn't take 'permission' from Archu are those that he HAD to do as he was horribly pressrized- unwilling but HAD to do. There was no point in taking Archu's permission... he had to do it anyway.

What wud he have said?

Archu can I put sindoor on Shravani?

Can I get engaged to Shrvani?

Can I go on a date with Shravani? (Savita had asked him to take Shravani out the presence of Shravani so he couldn't say no)

If I had been in Archu's place I would have slapped him for increasing my pain by asking these shameless questions when he was going to do it anyway. When you have committed to her, why ask me?

And so in such situations, Manav doesn't take permission but after the act is done- he either apologizes silently (sindoor scene) and hates himself to it or expresses his helplessness in front of Archu (engagement scene)

But from Shravani, he takes 'permission' for things that he WANTS to do, like going to Varsha's engagement or wedding, since he is committed to her and it would hurt her badly. I mean, she was already insecure, had insulted Archana badly, if she came to know that he was going for 5 whole days with his wife, then she would probably burst a vessel or go into preterm labour.

He gave respect to both Archu and Shravani this time- to Archu and her family by saying I'll definitely go, and to Shravani by clarifying if she had a problem. Even Archu had told this to Manav- be sensitive to Shravani's feelings.

So even though it angered me to see Manav seeking permission from Shravani, on an indifferent note and only keeping in mind the decency factor- I don't think he was wrong.
