Hi guys!! Although its been only four days that I've not written a single post.. (travelling continuously).. it seems ages. Anyhow, I've been reading all the posts, and varied points of view.I thought I'd analyse them here.
Archana: My heart goes out to this girl... but am actually feeling very proud of her for trying her best to work on the marriage, but at the same time having held on to her dignity and self respect... Shravani shud have sunk in shame in front of her. At the same time, she understood her husband's dilemma so well.. that it was his resposibility (although I don't think so) to care for Shravani and so quietly moved out respecting his decision and so as to not trouble the family anymore.. clearly shows how much she still cared for them. I just hope that while moving out she gives back a good answer to Savita... lets see... very unlikely though.
Manav: From the last 4 days, I have been reading so much against this guy- weak willed, quitter, not deserving Archana.. etc. etc. Trust me, even I was upset on seeing yesterday's episode.. so decided to analyse it as to what Manav could have done at that time when Archana was boldly confessing her love for him..
1.) "Archana loves me, even I love her... so I should save my Pavitra Rishta.."
Thank God Manav didn't say this, else he wud have ended up losing a loyal fan (myself). Much as I want both of them to reunite.. I definitely DO NOT want them to unite for the wrong reasons. Manav right now considers Archana to be the one who supported the police complaint and inflicted horrific tortures on his family, even considers her responsible for his brother's death to some extent. Quite clearly, the respect and opinion he had for Archana is not the same, the respect which had made him fall in love with this girl. As such, if he still goes back to make his marriage work cos he loves her... then that wud mean that the love has now become a weakness.. so much that he is actually supporting the person who he thinks terribly wronged him and his family.. is it fair for that love to be denigrated to this level??? And is this marriage even a marriage with no respect whatsoever??? Will the rest of the family accept??? Will this marriage even be stable, cos those memories will haunt their lives in some way or the other. Personally I think love shud give you strength in life.. not become a weakness...(like Archana whose love for Manav gave her strength to break the shackles of her home and also refuse marriage to Satish, like Manav whose love for Archana gave him strength to sign the divorce papers so that she cud marry Satish and live happily, like Archana who despite in love with Manav didn't go back to him cos she thought he had maligned her,she didn't let her love be a weakness to support the wrong person).... otherwise it is better to go separate ways.. like a girl who falls in love with some gangster and says I will marry him inspite of the work he does cos I am hopelessly in love with him. Or Vinod (+ Karanjkar family) who doesn't say anything to Manjusha cos he loves her or maybe cos of Punni. Same case.. their love is their weakness and doesn't let them fight against what is wrong.
The other point cud be that Manav feels genuinely bad for Archu, and thinks, "OK I have reasons to be angry with her but she has left her home for me...what will society do to her..where will she go if this marriage breaks.. so I have to save my marriage." Although his concern wud be apreciated.. but again, the point is the same.. his reasons for saving his marriage are not correct- PITY. What wud such a marriage accomplish- they wud never physically consummate nor accept each other with their hearts. And the worst sufferer in this wud be poor Archana who wud have to bear the tag of being 'forgiven' for no mistake of her own. Not to mention listen to Savita's taunts and no one wud be able to defend her cos she wud still be a culprit in their eyes. At least if she moves out, she can be independent and start a new life, at least it is better than such a fake marriage.
So I guess rather than weak-willed, I will consider Manav as a person who showed strength of character by not working on his marriage for the wrong reasons, rather than succumb to emotional weakness of his heart. I think it takes strength to do so. Marriage protected for wrong reasons crumbles down in the long run.. for want of respect, trust or whatever.
And so rather than show Manav as a person who decides to work on his marriage for the wrong reason.. I wud prefer seeing him as one, who comes across his mistake, accepts it graciously, and works on his marriage for the right reason- to give his wife what she had been denied all along- respect, rights, justice... and love. He shud fight against the world for his marriage and his love... it wud be then that his love wud be his strength and guiding light.
2.) "If Archana really loves me.. cud it be that she didn't betray me... that she didn't make the complaint.. that my love wasn't a mistake??"
Good going Manav, cos this is what we got to see that day. He felt awkward and guilty when Archana told him she has always loved him, doesn't care if he is angry or not, accepted her mistake openly, and finally when he heard her conversation with Shravani.. no points for guessing that he was feeling bad and had switched on to thinking mode. The trembling roots of trust have started gaining ground and although the dilemma was obvious... (I've always said his wounds won't heal in one day, nor will he trust Archu in one day)... good news is near. This is also an example of love giving him strength to believe that maybe Archna wan't wrong... but this is going to take time, cos as of now he is just trying to gather the crumbs of life for his family and avoid any more chaos by agreeing to marry Shravani.
3.) "Finish your court stay of 3 months, and go!!"
Good and bad, good cos misunderstandings wud have cleared up, and bad cos Archu wud have to go through intense humiliation and heartbreak. Plus at the end of 3 months all her expectations might have been broken.
4.) "I am marrying Shravani"
Good that the truth came from his mouth, rather than from someone else's... but poor Archu really got the biggest shock of her life. It had to come up anyway... but I guess everyone is more shocked cos it came so abruptly. Although I'm really sad for Archana, I'm happy she's out of that house where no one understands her as of now and can concentrate on her studies and job. No need thinking about the past anymore.. let Manav come to know the truth and accept his mistake on one knee.
As for Manav, again here, rather than weak-willed, he stood up like a man to face the music of the decision he had made (it is another matter however that I don't support this decision and its a wrong one), but anyway.. once you have made a decision... that too on your own..(nobody forced him)... stick to it like a man... unless of course you have bigger reasons to stand against your own decision... in Manav's case.. the onus of doing justive to Archna, her happy future, the fact that she has suffered a lot due to his lack of trust and that she IS HIS responsibility even earlier than Sachin's baby or Shravani... hopefully we will see this in the coming episodes when the misunderstandings clear up...
Cos I believe the ultimate hero is not the one who doesn't make mistakes... the hero is one who stands firm on what he thinks is right, and doesn't mind accepting his mistake when he comes to know he was wrong, and corrects them to the best of his abilities.
Disclaimer: You are free to agree/disagree with the above views.. in a nutshell, I feel, even though his decision is wrong, Manav is not weak-willed or a quitter. He is just being strong-willed about what he thinks is right but what we all know is wrong. And under present circumstances I'm happy he didn't try to work on his marriage. Right now I just want him to know the whole truth first, bit by bit, the police complaint, Savita's tortures, Archu's true love, everything. And then work on his marriage and refuse Shravani both for the right reasons.
Apart from the above 4, I don't think there is anything else he cud have/ wud have done given his present circumstances... so no other options.. of course you are free to suggest more.
Shravani: I really don't know what to analyse about her.. she has been such a let down. She was introduced as a very independent and confident girl... now she is a miserable kitten and nothing else. She doesn't take responsibility of what she did wrong, but seeks support, at first she said she wud live alone with her child, she doesn't need anyone's help, the very next moment she accepts Manav's proposal, she knows Manav andArchana love each other and she is destroying their lives, but doesn't stand firm on her decision to move out. Each time when Manav or Archu stop her, she makes a show of self pity, "Main kahin na kahin chali jaungi..." why doesn't she say, don't worry my Dad is there and even I'm well educated and can take care.... the baby is mine anyway.
Savita: don't want to say anything about her
Damodar: What the hell has happened to him?? He brought Archu in grandly with all the Aarti etc. but didn't do anything when Savita pushed Archu around all day. Manav on the other hand stopped his Aai the very first time she did it in front of him. I hope Baba doesn't stop Archu from leaving . Hated the scene when they were all sitting quietly while Savita pushed Archu around and clutched her hands tightly.
Sulochana: Feeling very very sorry for her. Thats it.
How I want the track to develop:
1.) Archu shud concentrate on study and job
2.) Manav having seen Archu's goodness regarding Shravani, slowly finds truths about her.
3.) Finally finds out about his Aai.. blasts her.. breaks relations with her.
4.) Says NO to marriage saying he cannot do injustice with Archana as she has suffered a lot becos of him already.
5.) Asks Archu if she wud like to come back, cos he really wants her to come back... Archu makes her own decision YES/NO.
Thats it.. your comments wud be welcome, and you are free to disagree.
