Part 9

Neil returned to home in the evening with Hanuman. Neil had told Hanuman about Mini’s decision and he was so happy for both of them. He had almost pulled Neil from office as he wanted to celebrate the occasion. Arya came running to them as both of them entered the house. “Papa…nanu…” Arya jumped at them excitedly. “Get ready doll. Today we all will go out for dinner.” Hanuman informed her. “Really? And we’ll have ice cream too?” Arya asked. “Yes we all will have ice cream too after that.” Hanuman replied. “Where is your mumma. Tell her to get ready and change your clothes too.” Hanuman asked.

“But mumma is upset today. She has not come out of the room since we have returned from school. She is not talking to even me and when I went in her room I saw she was crying. I tried to ask but she scolded me.” Arya stood there pouting on being scolded for no reason. Hanuman shared a worried look with Neil and gestured him to go and check upon Mini. Neil went inside. Mini was standing near the window lost in her thoughts. Neil went near her and turned her towards him. He found there were marks of tears on her beautiful face and her eyes looked little swollen. “Hey! What happened to my cheese cake. Why are you crying?” Neil asked her cupping her face.

Mini shook her head in no as fresh tears came in her eyes.“Neil….I want…you to know that…I decided to come back to you not because we made love or I was so needy and desperate to get your attention….but because I really love you a lot…and more than that I took that decision because of Arya. She needs you…she needs her father and I want to give her normal upbringing….I…didn’t…just…” Mini started blabbering remembering Manmeet's hateful words which tried to make joke out of her love for Neil. She wanted to say many more things but Neil stopped her. “Shshsh! Calm down Mini. Just relax ok. And why you are saying all this to me? I know that already. I don’t need any explanation from you. I know that you have took this decision for our love, for Arya’s good, for her future….but even if you had just wanted my attention then whats wrong in it? You are my wife. Its normal for us to desire each other...isnt it?” Neil asked as he looked in to her eyes to find out whats going on inside her head.

Mini just shook her head and told him everything happened at school today. Neil was seething in anger after that. He turned to go but Mini held his hand. “No please, its over now. I don’t wanna drag this matter.” Mini requested. “That b******d Manmeet dared to say all sorts of things to you and you expect me to let it go.” Neil asked angrily from her.“I gave him reply with two slaps. I think he might have understood now. Please you dont get into it. Forget about it…mujhe bhi bhool hi jana chahiye tha…pata nahi main kyu abhi tak wahi sab soche ja rahi thi…” Mini tried to explain. Neil still was angry. “Neil, look at me….you were right. What these people say shouldn’t matter to us. I heard Arya’s voice…she is excited to go out…let it be…lets go out and enjoy our life.” Mini said. Neil was not convinced but he knew for now there is no use of arguing with her. He will teach a lesson to that Manmeet tomorrow, without her knowledge.

Manmeet was going back to his house after school when suddenly two policeman overtook his car and stopped him. “What happened? Why you have stopped me?” Manmeet asked in confusion. “You will get to know soon.” One officer said and pulled him out of the car. “Hey what are you doing?” Manmeet shouted as both the officer almost dragged him with them. Soon he got his answer when they took him to police van parked at some distance. Neil came out of it. Both the officer made Manmeet stand straight and left him. Neil held him by his collar. “Leave me, I have not broken any law. You cant harass me like this.” Manmeet retorted.

“But, you enjoy harassing woman? You think you can pass any comments on them or pass judgment about their character any time.” Neil asked as now he shook him. “Kya laga tha tujhe…Mini ke aage peechhe ghumega, lift dega, coffee pilayega to hero ban jayega uski nazro mein? Aaj teri sari herogiri nikalta hoon.” Neil said and slapped across Manmeet’s face. Before Manmeet could even understand what is happening Neil slapped two more times. Manmeet almost fell down due to the blow. He wiped blood that was oozing from the corner of his lips due to the impact of blows.

Neil pulled him up again. “Kya bola tha us din tune…Mini and Arya…your wife and kid? Mera bas chalta to usi din jaan le leta main teri…teri himmat kaise hui? Mini ke bare sochne ki bhi…hai kaun tu….aukaat kya hai teri?” Neil asked as he continued to punch him on the face. Manmeet spitted blood as one of his teeth came out from his mouth. “Now if you ever took even Mini and Arya's name….I swear…I’ll kill you in cold blood.” Neil threatened again and pushed him to the ground.

Neil turned to sit again in his car when Manmeet got up from the ground and sneered at Neil, “Neil Oberoi….what they call you…the media people…” Manmeet pretended to think. “Ya….I remember now….super cop…the headlines were… ‘Govt. has sent its super cop to solve serial killings in Patiala….So Mr. Super Cop…cases suljhate suljhate itne ulajh gaye the ki apni family ka hi dhyan nahi rakh paye….chhod kar aa gayi thi na Mini tumhe…you know she used to share her pain with me. I thought that by giving her shoulder to cry I will slowly move into her heart…if not in heart then at least in bed…she is quite a hot woman..I must say..” Neil didn’t let him complete and kicked him with his knees in his stomach. But Manmeet kept laughing hysterically.

“You failed her as a husband. You failed your daughter as a father and….now you will fail as an officer also….tine din ho gaye tumhe aake…kya ukhad liya ab tak serial killer ka…arre tum to abhi tak Bobby Bhatia mein hi uljhe ho…tumse nahi ho payega…chhod do koshish….case solve karne ki aur Mini ko wapas pane ki bhi..main hoon na Mini ke liye…” Neil kept kicking him increasing the intensity with his every venomous word but Manmeet kept laughing like he was not feeling any pain and continued to say all sorts of things to provoke him. At last he passed out when his body couldn’t take any more torture but Neil was not stopping. His anger still not died down.

The two officers with him somehow controlled him, “Sir bas kijiye, mar jayega nahi toh.” Neil finally managed to stop himself. He had to take few deep breaths to calm himself completely. He cant believe this Manmeet was almost a psycho. Bloody hell! No normal person can endure this much pain. The way he was laughing….his jaw tic contorting his face making him look ugly…everything was a sign of an abnormal person. God! Mini works with these kind of people. Neil was suddenly worried about her. Once this case is solved and he will leave the city who will look after her? Dad is there but….she wont share her problems with him. Suddenly Neil felt that he cant leave Mini and Arya alone. He made a mental note that he will take both of them with him right after the case ends. Neil instructed the officers with him to leave Manmeet in the premises of any nearby hospital while he went to police station.

“Sir, I have called the central forensic science lab. They have said that it will take time to make the detail analysis of victims vital organs as we have sent them those organs already very late so its difficult to diagnose if there was any external thing used to induce heart failure.” Mickey informed Neil.

“But how much time Mickey? We are running short of time. Ministry se phone par phone aa rahe hain…media police ki grilling kar raha hai…we need to give results.” Neil said as he banged his fist in frustration on the table.

“Relax, we are doing our best.”Hanuman replied as he offered Neil a glass of water. “You are not understanding….I just cant seem to put my finger on it…something is there…something very obvious which I am over looking and its so frustrating.” Neil almost shouted.

“Mickey, can you give us a minute?” Hanuman Singh asked Mickey to leave and he complied. “Neil, calm down.Those two officers with you in the morning…they told me everything about the whole incident. Shayad tumhara mood uske kaaran kharab hai…bhool jao ab…I don’t know why you beat him up but I can guess something related to Mini…I wont ask you…and don’t worry everything is taken care of….uska gussa aur frustration kaam par mat nikalo.” Hanuman advised.

“May be you are right….I might be over thinking.” Neil replied. “Its ok, lets wrap up the work for today and go home. “No, I cant come. I have to brief the progress of case to the Director general of Police. It will take time. You go.” Neil answered. “But Neil…just a couple of days ago everything is sorted out between you and Mini…phir se late tak rukoge toh….Briefing kal kar lena.” Hanuman tried to persuade him.

“Its not my call dad. DGP sir have selected this time. He will be contacting through video conferencing. Obviously I cant be absent from it.” Neil explained. “Ok, I will manage at home…somehow.” Hanuman replied not sure how he is gonna handle Mini.

“Arya, my doll see what I have got for you.” Hanuman arrived at home and Arya ran to him excitedly. “Nanu, where is papa?” she asked. “Papa bas aate hi honge…tum ye dekho tumhari favourite sweet, rasgulla.” Hanuman gave her the box. She ran to the kitchen to give it to Rani di so that she can open the box and give it to her.

“Where is Neil, dad?” Mini asked. “Thode kaam mein phas gaya hai…bas aa jayega thodi der mein…dekho tumhari favourite sweets bhi leke aaya hoon main, see kaju katli.” Hanuman showed another box. “Oh, so Neil is going to be late again and he has sent this bribe with you so that I wont get angry.” Mini asked folding hand in front of her chest. “No I have brought this bribe…I mean sweets on my own.” Hanuman Singh replied. “Whatever! I cant believe this man. Just few days ago I have decided to go back to him and he already returned to his old ways.” Mini said unable to believe.

“Mini, he really had some important work. He had to brief about the case to seniors. He couldn’t have avoided it even if he wanted to and certainly couldn’t delegate it to junior as he is the incharge of the case.” Hanuman tried to defend Neil. “It all starts from here dad….I know better than you. When these unavoidable work will turn into regular night shifts and late hours you wont even know. I was a fool to believe him. I took the decision too quickly I should have thought about it.”Mini answered and left the room almost stomping her feet in anger. She didn’t show up for dinner. Hanuman Singh sighed and texted Neil, “Temperature bahut high hai….warning you in advance.”

Neil came around 10.30 pm. He saw Naeem bi was coming out of kitchen. “Where is everyone?” He asked. Everyone had their dinner and gone to sleep. I was also going to my room. Mini might be awake but if you need anything then tell me as Mini is very angry on you. She is not going to serve you dinner.” Naeem bi informed. Neil became nervous listening to that. “No thanks Naeem bi. I don’t feel like having dinner.” Neil answered and went to change. He then came out he was craving for tea but he knew he cant ask Mini for that if he loves his life. So he went to the kitchen to make it himself.

Neil entered there and found a very angry Mini making tea for him. She was almost banging the utensils on kitchen platform. She must have heard his voice and came here. Neil took a deep breath to gather up courage but it left him very next second when she muttered something angrily. “Oh f**k! you are gone Neil. She is so f**king angry.” He thought.

Mini was pouring his tea into the cup. She turned around almost bumped into him. She checked him out from top to bottom. “Neil Oberoi, what is this? Where are your clothes?” She gasped. “It’s a hot day and everyone else has slept so I thought….” Mini interrupted him between, “…So you thought you will parade around naked here.”

“Hey! I am wearing payjamas. I am not naked but if you wish to see me like that then….” Neil ran his thumb on the waist band of his payjamas as he teased her. “Are you out of your mind?” Mini asked in shock as she quickly held his hand. She handed his tea cup to him and took deep breaths to control her anger.

Neil thought he should share his decision regarding them leaving with him after the case. He knew Mini is already angry so he should tell her now itself. There will be no point of making her angry tomorrow also. “Achha suno, give your resignation tomorrow itself. As soon as this case get solved you both will come with me.” Neil announced his decision as he finished his tea. “What…when did this happen? We were supposed to join you in Amritsar only after this academic year right?” Mini asked in confusion. “I gave it a thought and realized that it will be better…” Mini interrupted him, “….you decided it…without even asking me and what about my notice period and Arya’s exams?

“You don’t need to serve notice period we will deposit the amount in lieu of that as per their rules and I have talked to the principal. They have branch of the school in Amritsar so there will be no problem for Arya. The course, the syllabus etc is same. She will just get transferred to there and write her exams from there.” Neil replied and put the cup at one side. He came close to Mini to hug her but she jerked away his hands. “What the hell Neil? You did everything on your own and forget about discussing it with me you didn’t think it is necessary to at least inform me about it.” Mini asked again.The anger she had tried to suppress resurfaced again and more pronounced this time.

“Mini, listen to me. I don’t wanna leave you alone here especially after that Manmeet’s scene.” Neil tried to make her understand. Mini studied his expressions. He looked worried and at once she understood that despite of her request Neil has confronted him and may be beaten him up. “Neil….why you just cant listen to me once. What was the need of confronting Manmeet. Didn’t I say that I have given him befitting reply.” Mini asked now irritated from his behavior.

“How can you expect from me to remain silent? That creep insulted you and you want me to do nothing about it. Mini…that person…he is creepy, weirdo….I cant tell you in exact words but something about him was very disturbing. Please, I cant leave you both here in between such weirdos. Mujhe har pal tum logo ki chinta lagi rahegi.” Neil explained. “Neil itne time tum nahi the hamare sath tab bhi hamari life chal rahi thi…aisa nahi hai ki main tumhare bina manage nahi kar sakti.” Mini retorted. “Haan kar rahi thi manage but majburi mein….now when we have decided to be together you don’t need to manage everything on your own.” Neil reasoned.

“Tumse na….baat karna hi bekar hai. Just few days ago I decided to come back to you and you already started coming late from work, now you are bossing me around and taking decisions on my behalf without even asking me….you know what…agar aisa hi chalta raha to….I will need to rethink about my decision.” Mini said and went to her room.

Neil followed her into her room. “What did you say? Rethink? Really? What do you think…what I am….am I a toy that you will keep playing with whenever you feel like. For God sake! I am your f**king husband. Stop playing with my emotions every time.” Neil shouted. “If you are my husband then behave like one. Stop deciding things on your own. Show some respect to this relationship. Its a two way thing. It’s not about you everytime.” Mini shouted back.

“Exactly my point. It’s not about you every time. Instead of trying to understand me you always draw your own conclusions.” Neil pointed out her mistake. “Neil Oberoi, first you come late then….” Mini pointed her finger at him and moved slowly towards him. She looked like she will eat him alive. Her eyes full of accusations and face almost red with fury. Neil took few steps back in fear. He thought he took it too far now instead of continuing fight he should salvage the situation. “Ok, ok…We'll discuss everything later cheese cake. Come lets sleep now. ” Neil offered truce treaty.

Mini stay quiet for sometime then nodded her head in agreement. “Fine! It should be dealt with maturity.” Neil sighed in relief and jump on the bed to sleep. “Hey! Go and sleep in your room. We are not sharing bed tonight.” Mini opened the door for him. “Oh, that’s some real maturity you have shown. What about that big promise you made that we will not take arguments and fights to bed?” Neil asked in disbelief.

“I don’t remember any such promise.” Mini lied and averted her eyes from him. Neil gasped at her audacity of lying so confidently in front of his face. “To hell with your attitude. I will sleep here only…with you…cause you are my wife and its my right..” Neil said in attitude. He moved towards her and now Mini took few steps back doubting his intentions. Neil kicked the door shut and picked her up in his arms and lead her to bed. “Hey, put me down you akdu, sadu, ghamandi, jhagdalu pati.” Mini said as she moved her hands and legs desperately to come out of his hold.

“Ya , sure my hot headed, impatient, judgemental, jhagdalu biwi.” Neil said and dumped her on the bed. He came on bed and Mini tried to sit straight but Neil caught her and pulled her with jerk. She landed on his chest facing him and he hugged her tightly wrapping his both legs around her. Mini made her best efforts to free herself but he was way too strong for her delicate body. “Chhodo mujhe….you…achhi zabardasti hai….gunde kahi ke.” Mini complained. Neil laughed at her silly attempts. “Gunda nahi IPS…and no I will not leave you cheese cake….not before you forgive me….I am sorry ok…I know you are upset but what I have decided its for our good….good of our family.” Neil made his point.

“Neil…ok…I forgive you now leave me…” Mini said half heartedly to get out of his hold. “No, you are saying it just to get rid of me.” Neil laughed again as he guessed her intentions. “Hmm…let me think…what should I do to…make you understand….” Neil pretended to think while his hand started caressing her back. He slipped his hand under her night shirt and his hand started roaming up and down on her back.

“Neil…you…you cheat.” Mini accused him now guessing his intentions and game plan. Neil rolled her over and now put both his hands under her top and started tickling her. Mini started laughing uncontrollably. “Stop it…you…you…wicked man….I…will die…laughing….stop it…please.” Mini pleaded. “Not before you forgive me.” Neil replied and continued his torture. “Ok…ok…I…I forgive you.” Mini accepted her defeat as she couldn’t take it anymore.

“That’s like my cheese cake.”Neil said and didn’t even give her chance to catch her breath as he attacked her lips. Before Mini could even process that she felt his hands now caressing her breast. “You are an evil person Neil Oberoi.” Mini put yet another accusationas he pulled her up and removed her top. “Oh that I am.” Neil whispered before leaning down and placing hot kisses on her upper body. He got rid of their remaining clothes and once again tasted and kissed every inch of her body.

Both of them were pressed against each other. Mini could feel his arousal between her legs and this made her own core desperate to take him in. She squirmed under him to let him know where she wants him now. But he was in no mood to show mercy on her….not atleast before he made her accept his decisions. “Cheese cake, cant you feel how much I love you? How much I crave for you….have you ever thought how I will live there alone…how you will manage here without me…wont you miss me? So its better that you come with me right after the case ends…ok?” Neil asked huskily and kissed her on the neck.

“Okay…” Mini whispered closing her eyes. She didn’t have the courage to argue again….her mind was just clouded with desires. She wanted him and nothing else in that moment. She wanted him to stop talking and get down to business so she agreed to whatever he said. As soon as he got her answer he claimed her and filled her empty, waiting core. Somewhere at the back of Mini’s mind there were some thoughts like ‘Neil has tricked you …you stupid woman.” But she chose to ponder upon them later and shut them out for a while to concentrate on sensuous reality of the moment.

Neil is such a evil . He tricked poor girl and Mini melted Manmeet got punches from Neil finally but I hope this Manmeet/killer don't harm Arya or Mini. Looks like big fight of MiNeil on the way.
