This. So much. If only Babita was capable of looking past her own defensiveness to know how to explain things to Mini. Sigh.

But she’s been more dismissive of Mini off late in this “makaan maalkin” mode. And that is why situations have continued to worsen.

She’s literally been scoffing at everything Mini says and this is why they are never even able to get to the part about Mini’s sharp tongue....parenting ho hi kahaan rahi hai itne din se 🤷‍♀️.....ego battle chal raha hai.

Actually I’ll correct myself....there was one parent in that scene....HS. The way he stopped Babita from slapping Mini.....it really touched my heart. He was upset with Mini and hurt by what she said but he still handled it like a parent...and didn’t let Babita raise a hand on her grown daughter.

Who says you’re not a hero, HS 🤗....you have more strength and character than you ever realized.

Completely agree. He is a parent, will always be. He doesn't always get things right but his heart and intentions are usually in the right place.

@bold: I feel that moment also opened his eyes to how hurt and vulnerable Mini had become by then. How much the situation in the house was affecting her.

Ever since that episode there was a slight shift in HS as he slowly came back into his original form and started putting forth his viewpoint to Babita. He didn't want to lose his daughter while opening Babita's mann ki gaanth.

That was when he saw her unshed tears while all this while he had been caught up in everything else.

Yes, things did start shifting a bit after that surname scene. He started noticing a bit how deep Mini’s pain ran beyond the difference in POV over the surname issue.

This was evident in the scene with Laale also later where he again stated what he’s always noted about Mini....how much she’s like Imarti in her fearlessness.

What’s becoming more evident in these last few epis is how much it was Mini who always impacted HS more than Babita....it’s Mini who always got through to him more as he did with her. He was going against his natural instinct and belief systems in trying to pander to Babita off late. But his true nature has always aligned more with Mini.

Man, my love for these two grows each time I talk about them ❤️.

@bold, tell me about it.

I also think back to yesterday when he had to remind Babita that Minnie was her own daughter, her own blood. He, the outsider, the sautela, etc. had to point it out and at that moment he seemed to be more Minnie's saga anything than all the other people around her, in spite of the distance between them. I think this is what dil ka rishta really is about - no matter how many ups and downs you see, there's a thread that connects you that doesn't get broken no matter what.

I am so glad to see that after all the wishy washy father-daughter label related things, HS is going back to doing this organically as he once would have and is actually once again becoming the parent to Minnie he had always been from the beginning. It's now for Minnie to also reconcile the fact that he may not be perfect but he's going to always have her best interests at heart.

Yes the shift in HS came after that. He realized mini was having issues. With babita not working, with him supporting babita over it. He realised he needs to balance it properly. It cannot be about only babita s happiness and wish.

Along with HS shift there was a shift in mini too who decided she dint want to go to Australia leaving her small family behind. And Babita ke Saath to there was no improvement in tge relation. It was with HS somewhat coming to his own self that made her want to stay back.

Word👏......I'd go a step ahead and say ki ab yeh log dil ke rishte se bhi upar uth chuke hain......this is a soul connection....rooh ka rishta......souls remain connected long after all earthly and material trappings fade away.

Finally they actualized it today.....what these two share is beyond all the dil ke rishte in this story too.

@bold this is what he shared with Imarti and now with his daughter. It's just... ❤️

It reminded me of the scene where HS was explaining to her that it's the soul that's important, not the body and I can tell the essence of HS will live within Minnie too. Damn... Now I'm wishing he were in season 2 - they could take the entire time to work on HS and Minnie's daddy issues but I guess it's not meant to be.

Jean, I too wish HS was retained for Season 2. Mini had always been secure about her mom but she always had issues with Ashok and he had practically never been there for her. HS being there for her and then she see the kind of bond that HS would be sharing with her little sister. She would have a little bit jealous too because now she has to share her Hanuman uncle with someone 😆...but then of course I would never want HS to be widowed again...but still it would have been wonderful to see him with two daughters who are proud of him and perhaps some emotional support from Babita too but of course writers would never like that 😆

I have always said Babita needed to step up if this marriage had to work be fulfilling but I don't think I ever felt that she would or could. The current state of their hollow marriage doesn't surprise me one bit. They should separate/get divorced but I don't think HS can bring himself to do that to Babita or himself. He will continue to be suffocated. Gosh.

On the other hand, it would be really hard for him to handle things if Babita were to pass away. I don't know if Minnie would return to him in that case. It might be a little too unconventional for ITV to show a young adult choosing to continue to live with her 'step' dad after her mother passes away or if they get divorced, maybe?
