Meeta gave up her family, her self-respect, for her love of Ashok. She has been swallowing her bitterness regarding Babita for 10 years before the fear of losing Ashok made her desperate enough to follow him.

Meeta lives for love. She wears her heart on her sleeve. She's emotionally open and hurt and desperately needs a family, but unlike Babita, doesn't have the patience to build one. She also puts Ashok over and above everyone else while Babita doesn't.

As for Babita...I think as the story progresses we will see (along with Babita herself because I don't think even she's aware of this) that what she and Ashok had was never love (or even real). Successfull loving marriages take time together, effort, and hard work (even in a love marriage but this is especially true in an arranged marriage).

I understand she invested 10 years , leaving everything for Ashok, but will he deserve it. She could have know for Ashok no one is important except MONEY. Hope she doesn't become another Babitha. While babes have MINI to support and fight for, while she has NONE...

& meets has got lot of shades to her , but the fear is constant in her & she knows how much she has put in this relationship , if this fails it would be ultimate failure .

she has seen ashok's nature , is a constant spectator of ashok's changing ways hence gets more desperate .

i hv said this before too that sadly she has chosen this life for herself , she is actually a loner .

Yup she is interesting character, sadly she invested too much in this relationship, for the MAN who doesn't value her...Ashok will easily drop Meeta if he get another FAT PURSE😲

I think we're seeing the signs that she will, if they marry, definitely become another Babita but without the familial support. With nobody left in Ashok's family for him to remain accountable to, I don't think it will be long before he starts to mistreat her.

We have a saying in the UK that whenever a man turns a mistress into a wife, he also posts a vacancy for a mistress. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a time jump where Ashok is married to Meeta but sleeping with someone else.

@bold I agree, but one thing i dont understand that why would she tolerate Ashok like why would she give up everything and live with him and torture herself for him 😕

It's called love, but me feel it's obsession 😆 and she might got used to him for 10 + years being a wife literally and he do share everything with her, even though how bad it might be..

Great Post, Maha. I am also a silent member of this forum (too bad they dont do written updates, whichi s what I mostly come here for).
I think so far Meeta has been shown Gray - or unclear, but I HOPE, HOPE, HOPE that they do not show her negative. Why? Because I think it is central to the theme of Women Empowerment that men like Ashok do not get away with everything. Ever since Meeta has come, Ashok's family has been blaming Meeta, as if Ashok himself is doodh ka dhula, although the girl is actually trying to fit in, and is over all a decent girl. Yes she is gray because she chose to be in a relationship with a married man, and should have known better, but this man promised her the moon - who knows if he even disclosed her in the beginning he was married? She is very much in love with him, and is invested in this relationship, he on the other hand, is using everyone (his parents, his wife, and her), is insensitive to her needs and insecurities and is just a selfish person.

I get it that he fell for a strong woman like Meeta, but he is basically expecting her to be a timid "housewife" and impress his parents, etc., when he does little to contribute in his relationship with her.

So in the end, with all her "focus" on women's empowerment, I hope Mini (and maybe Babita makes her see this) finally sees that Meeta also deserves respect (yes, call her out for her wrong but do not blame her entirely as if she enticed a bechara bacha). I would love for makers to take this route.
