Part – 14

Kunal's happiness knew no bounds today! He was very close to getting his Siddhi back!! All his notions against Siddhi all these years just vanished in half a day!! And he also met and spoke to Siddhi!! He was going on a dinner date with her that night!! This time yesterday he did not think today would be such a wonderful day!! He just remembered when Siddhi sat in the car waiting for AD to get in, she looked exactly like she did when she was leaving to Ujjain with his family 10 years back!! The same air of attitude towards Kunal, as if she does not care about him but at the same time feeling embarrased under his gaze!! That time he had followed her to Ujjain unable to stay away from her!! He had confessed his love for her there in Ujjain!! He had the same feeling now.. he felt like going after her and just being with her! Now he wondered how he had lived without her for 9 years!! Was he crazy? No wonder he forgot how to live in her absence!! It was just now that he started living again!! AC was intently looking at his father all this while.. there was a sudden glow about him.. he was smiling without being asked to smile. Ever since Siddhi left in the car, there was a permanent smile on his face!! After a few minutes, Kunal came out of his fantasy world and looked at AC.

Kunal: Kya hua? Aise kya dekh raha hai?

AC: Papa.. kuch tho gadbad hai! Aap kuch zyada hi smile kar rahe hain!!

Kunal: Smile.. Kyon? Nahi kar sakta hun kya? Aise keh raha hai jaise aaj thak maine kabhi smile hi nahi ki! Huh!

AC: Nahi papa.. aapka yeh smile na.. bilkul alag hai.. jaise aap bahut khush hain! Aisa smile tho main pehli baar dekh raha hun!

Kunal: (Embarrased)Accha theek hai.. chal.. coach se baat karte hain!

AC: Coach tho abhi busy honge papa.. unka prinicipal sir se meeting chal raha hai(he made up quickly) Aap khana khayiye na.. kam samay hai.. lunch time khatam ho jaayega!

Kunal and AC went towards the lunch area and Kunal had his lunch with AC giving him company once in a while as Kunal fed him every now and then! They both then went home together. Though they both did not speak of Siddhi or AD.. both knew how important and beautiful the day turned out to be because of them! Both had unfading smiles as they reached home!!

At the Chopra House: Richa was just about to leave for her house as she knew Kunal would be home any minute and would be really irritated if he still found her there. She had come in the morning and he would not leave any opportunity to taunt and insult Richa! More than the taunts, she was afraid of being in the house when Kunal was around. So, she was saying goodbye to Veena!

Richa: Maa, main phir baad me aaoongi! Ab Kunal aayega tho bahut irritate hoga.. isliye, ab main jaati hun. Agar aapko kuch chaahiye tho mujhe phone kijiyega.. Main aa jaaoongi!

Veena: Kash Kunal thujhe samajh pata! Tu nau saal se uska intazaar kar rahi hai.. lekin woh tumhe kabhi samajh nahi paya. Tune tho apni zindagi bhi barbaad karli!! Bhagvaan kare Kunal tumhare is pyar ko jald se jald samjhe!!

As Veena was saying these words, Kunal and AC entered the house(the door was open as Richa was about to leave)

Kunal: Theek kaha maa, aapne!(with a smile on his face) Aaj thak main Richa ko bilkul samajh nahi saka! Maine bahut der kardi ise samajhne me!(he said with a very pleasant and happy tone)

Everyone in the house were confused with Kunal's behavior.. they had not seen him this happy ever since Siddhi left him.. and that too talking about Richa? While Veena and Richa were surprised in a happy way with Kunal's statement, Seema and Raj did not like his tone! This was not the Kunal they knew. Each one reacted differently to what he said. As for AC, he knew Kunal was happy because he met Siddhi today but did not understand why he was being nice to Richa!

Richa: (in a surprised tone) Kunal, yeh tum kya keh rahe ho? Tumhe sach mein aisa lag raha hai?

Kunal: Haan Richa, jab se Siddhi mujhe chodkar gayi hai, tumne mujhe bahut samjhane ki koshish ki.. lekin main hi samajh nahi paya!

Richa was ecstatic on hearing Kunal say all this!! So, finally after a wait of 9 years, Kunal was going to be hers! AC was completely lost on hearing his father say these words to Richa! He thought after Kunal met Siddhi, he was happy and was thinking about re-uniting with her.. but what was his father doing? Why was he praising Richa out of the blue?! It made no sense to him and he was disappointed with his father. He did not say anything and just left the house!

Kunal continued: Tumne mujhe jail se baahar nikala!(in a very relaxed tone.. after a few seconds) Aur Siddhi ko andar karwaya!(he added in a raised voice)

Suddenly all eyes were on Kunal and Richa's face turned white on hearing this!

Kunal: Tumne mere bete ko bachaaya!! Kaise? Apni maa se alag kiya, phir use maarna chaaha.. lekin time pe main wahan aa gaya tho tumhe bacche ko mere hawale karna pada!!

The cool, matter of fact tone Kunal was using, pierced Richa like a buttered knife!!

Richa: Kunal zaroor tumhe mere khilaaf kisi ne zeher bhar diya hai! Batau kisne kaha tumse yeh sab?!

Veena immediately backed up Richa!

Veena: Kunal, yeh kya battameezi ki baate kar rahe ho? Tumhe acchi tarah pata hai ki Siddhi ne.. (she was cut off by Kunal)

Kunal: Haan maa.. Siddhi ne ham sab ke sath vishwasghat kiya.. apne bacche ko door bhejdena chaaha.. pata hai maa.. pata hai(he stopped his mother with one glance) Kyon Richa, jaanna chaahti ho ki mujhe yeh sab kaise pata chala? Aaj main subhah Central jail gaya tha!! Wahan tumhare papon ka chit kholne wali ek nurse mil gayi mujhe!! Kyon? Ab tum bataogi ya main bataun?

Richa eyes became bloodshot and tears streaming down her face, she was sweating profusely!

Richa: Tum yeh kyon nahi dekhte ki maine jo bhi kiya tumhare liya kiya! Main tum aur Siddhi ko ek saath bilkul bardaash nahi kar saki! Itna pyar karthi hun main tumse! Isiliye maine Rohit ke marne ke baad, jab Siddhi ke paas koi raasta nahi tha tumhe bachane ke liye, uske saath ek deal sign karwaya. Us deal ke according, Siddhi tumhari life se door chali jaayegi aur uske badle main tumhe jail se bahar nikaalungi! Maine use poore parivaar ke saath bura barthav karne par majboor kiya. Aur use jail jaane par majboor kiya! Uske paas aur koi raasta nahi tha.. woh tumhe apni family ke saath dekhna chaahthi thi.. isliye.. usne meri deal accept kar liya! Kunal maine yeh sab tumhe paane ke liye kiya! Jab aisa laga ki tum Siddhi ko bhool rahethe tho Siddhi ka delivery date aaya aur thum phir se use yaad karne lage! Mujhe laga ki us bacche ki wajah se kahin aap dono phir se ek ho jaaye! Isliye maine us bacche ko maarna chaaha! Lekin tum wahan aagaye aur maine bacche ko tumhare hawale kar diya! Woh bhi ek tarah se accha hi hua! Aap sab ne socha ki maine Anand ko Siddhi se bachaya aur is tharah meri is family ke saath relation ban gaya!

Saying this, Richa went and put her hands around Veena from the back of the sofa she was sitting in! As if Veena would understand her love! Veena got terrified as Richa's creepy arms crawled around her shoulders!! She got scared that if she said anything, Richa would strangle her in the same position. She dared not move a muscle and silently sat there with a 'Koi mujhe bachaao!' expression! All the Chopra family members except Gaurav(who was at work) got to see the sweet, innocent, always helpful Richa turn into a psycho in front of their eyes. She was saying all this with madness in her eyes! In a matter of minutes she was looking fit to be locked away in a mental asylum away from general public and Kunal in particular!!

Kunal: (In the same cool voice)Richa, kya tum abhi bhi maanthi ho ki main tumse pyar ya shaadi karoonga? Ab tum jaao yahan se.. aur mere legal notice ke liye wait karo! Agar main tumpe correct legal action tabhi leta jab tumne mujhpar rape ka ilzaam lagaya tha, tho ab mujhe yeh din nahin dekhna padta. Khair jo ho gaya so ho gaya.. now I will make sure you are put behind bars forever! Tumhe dobaara meri zindagi me nahi aane doonga.. kabhi nahi!!(he said with utmost contempt) Tum agar meri zindagi barbaad karthi tho shaayad main thumhe maaf karta.. pwhle bhi kiya tha.. lekin tumne meri Siddhi ki aur mere bacche ki zindagi barbaad kiya hai.. iskeliye main tumhe kabhi nahi chodoonga!!(he said in a threatening voice)Ab dafa ho jao yahan se!!(He roared like a lion)

Richa ran out of the house literally scared of Kunal's voice! That was the loudest she ever heard him speak! She ran to her car like a mad person with bloodshot eyes, opened the car and drove! She drove so harshly that she could have easily crashed her car a million times but in a matter of minutes she was back at the Thakral mansion!

At the Thakral mansion: Thakral who was sitting in the living room reading a newspaper, saw his daughter run upstairs. As she did not say anything to him, he assumed she was miffed at something and did not stop her. Richa ran into her room and shut the door behind her! Everything had changed for her in a matter of minutes. She had been patiently waiting for Kunal for 9 years and all gone in a matter of minutes! She knew Kunal would NEVER accept her after what she did.. She searched the room in a delusional state for something.. she searched impatiently in all the drawers and cupboards.. finally she found it.. the bottle which would relieve her of all the pain she felt and that she would feel once Kunal takes legal action on her! What would her father say?! He was a good man.. just loved her too much, that's all. If he knows of her actions, he would surely die of heart-ache!! All these thoughts suffocated her. She opened the bottle and gulped down a couple of dozen sleeping pills with water and lay on her bed. At last, after a few minutes, she started feeling her pain wear off.. she was slipping into oblivion and she loved it! She did not make a sound as she did not want her father to come and save her this time! Her last line to herself was, 'Kunal, I love you! I want you to be happy'!!

At the Chopra House: Veena was the one most effected by what happened that afternoon! She went into a state of shock for a while and later with Seema and Raj's help regained herself and since then her only words are, 'Kunal.. tu Siddhi ko leke aa'!! Seema and Raj who always suspected Richa were relieved to hear they were not wrong all along! But they felt guilty for not trusting Siddhi more. AC was happy that Richa was no where in sight when he came home late afternoon! And happiest of all was Kunal who was singing to himself with a permanent smile on his face!! He felt like a teenager in love and was all pumped up about his date with his lovely wife!! Of course he did not tell anyone about meeting Siddhi or about his date with her!! Finally, the dark cloud hovering over his family had moved along and he could see clear skies for the first time!!!
