Siddhi was not expecting to hear this! Even AD had not mentioned anything about AC at home yesterday.. She was shocked to hear's Kunal's name from this child's mouth!! She looked at AC with tear filled eyes and a blank expression. Siddhi's expression was blank but her mind was on full alert when she heard Kunal's name. So, Richa did not kill my baby? She must have given it to Kunal! She thanked God for keeping her elder son safe through out these years!! She couldn't be more happier that the baby grew up with Kunal.. his actual father and family unlike AD!! But then she thought.. may be thats why Kunal married Richa because she gave him his son! But Richa's intention was to kill the baby(she assumed they are married as she saw them together several times).. why and how did this boy end up with his father? She had so many questions but not a single answer. A feeling of disgust at the thought of Kunal accepting Richa back into his life after what she did to him in the past crept over Siddhi. How easy it was for Kunal to forget Siddhi! Not once he came to meet her all these 9 years in jail. How could he? He was busy raising his son and must have been enjoying his life with Richa! A feeling bordering on jealousy and contempt came over Siddhi. But she felt happy for AC for being brought up by his own family. All these thoughts were making quick rounds in her brain.
AC: Aap theek tho hain na?(after a few seconds.. he wanted to say mom but stopped himself.. both AC and AD did not want Kunal and Siddhi to know that they had identified them as their parents)
AC and AD looked at each other and smiled!.. they had expected both parents to react like this when they revealed the other's name!
AD: Mom!(he shook Siddhi) What happened? Aap unhe jaante hain?
Siddhi: (Coming back to the world.. stammering) Haan.. main jaanthi hun! Kunal Chopra tho bahut bade lawyer hain.. unhe kaun nahi jaanta! (she tried to sound normal about it)
Siddhi looked lovingly into AC's face and smiled taking in every detail.. he was very identical to AD except for the glasses around his eyes. She could see that he was brought up just the way she would have liked to see her son.. he looked very confident and yet down to earth! Then she thought, if Richa brought him up all these years, she must have surely spoilt him just like the Diwans spoiled AD and turned him into a brat.
AC: Aunty aapko pata hai, aaj ham dono apne apne matches jeet gaye! (he said wanting to be appreciated by his mother)
Siddhi: Accha, tum bhi Tennis khelthe ho? (taking this opportunity to know more about her first son)
AC: Nahi aunty.. main cricket kheltha hun aur hamara team aaj jeet gaya! Aur Anand ne bhi apni school ke liya Tennis competetion jeeta!! (he did not want to leave out his brother)
Siddhi: Very good!! Aur kyon nahi jeetenge dono?! Aakhir bete kiske hain?? (She stopped abruptly as soon as she realized where she was going with her words)
She congratulated and kissed both of them on the forehead!
Siddhi: Ab itni badi jeet ke liye, celebration tho banta hain!!
She quickly put her hand inside her handbag and brought out two dairy milk chocolates! She gave them to both her sons and hugged them tightly. She did not want this moment to end! Finally she was with both her sons! AC was so happy to be in his mother's hug for the first time.. it was so warm and tender!! but it did not feel like the first time! He felt like he knew his mother all along! Surprisingly, he did not feel that a new person was hugging him! He could make out that he himself was a complete reflection of his mother from the few minutes he saw her.
Just then, a school peon came towards the trio and informed them that all arrangements for lunch have been made and that they should have their lunch. On hearing this,
AD: Mom, Mujhe bahut bhook lagi hai.. chaliye na, khana khate hain.. subhah breakfast ke baad maine kuch nahi khaya.. match me busy tha!
Siddhi : Mujhe pata hai, tumhe bahut bhook lag rahi hogi.. Chalo! Anand tum bhi chalo(she said to AC)..tumne bhi match khela na, tumhe bhi bhook lag rahi hogi!
AC did not know what to say. He anxiously looked towards the school gate! He was very hungry too but he wanted to wait for his papa. He did not know whether to mention that his father would be coming any minute to Siddhi. What if his mother gets upset on hearing this and takes AD and leaves! He did not want to upset his mother and wanted to spend as much time with her as possible. He decided against informing her about his father's arrival and silently walked with them towards the tent where lunch was arranged. He kept looking back towards the gate for his father to walk in but Kunal did not come.
The lunch organized by the school was nothing extravagant. It was a small collection of dishes enough to appease the hunger of the students and staff. AC informed his mom that the next day was the closing ceremony of the sports festival and so the buffet then would be huge.. but since today was the day all competetions were being held, the concentration is not so much on food! Siddhi smiled at AC for this information. She was observing every little move he makes.. like how he talks, how he adjusts his glasses every now and then, how he wanted Siddhi to think great about his school, the way he walked and the way he interacted with his friends and teachers who were already having lunch.
Siddhi, AC and AD also filled their plates with Poori – Kurma, and Pulav first. All three of them found a small cement platform which was built as a fencing for plants and sat on it. It was a small platform..so, three of them squeezed themselves with Siddhi in the middle! She made sure both of them ate properly without leaving much on the plates. At one point when AC was unable to eat the pooris, she fed him those pooris with her own hands. AC could not say no to her. Infact he enjoyed getting all this attention from his mother! Slowly they ate rice and curries, dal, sambhar and finally finished up with curds. After getting each item on the plate, three of them went back to their original places and finally completed their lunch. Siddhi and the kids had so much fun while eating.. they joked and laughed to their heart's content. Every now and then Siddhi supervising their eating and feeding them if they were on the verge of giving up!
They washed their hands and as AC turned towards the gate to see if his father had arrived, he was surprised to see that Kunal was standing under a tree near the gate and looking at them! He immediately looked at his mother to see if she had also seen him. Siddhi wasn't looking! She was busy drying her hands on her handkerchief and setting AD's hair straight!
Kunal had actually arrived there soon after Siddhi and the kids started having lunch. While he was searching for AC, he found the trio seated on the cement platform enjoying each other's company! He was stunned to see the three of them together. Finally he saw his Siddhi! She was as beautiful as ever.. actually even more! The way she was handling and feeding her two sons, only a mother could do that! His heart was filled with joy at this and he stood there watching them! His family together as one after 9 years!! He did not want to go to them and disturb them as he knew Siddhi would be upset and probably leave from there. He had waited so long for this moment, to see his wife and kids together! He did not want it to end! He just stood by the tree watching and savoring the moment!! He wanted AC to feel his mother's love and did not want to interfere!!
AC suddenly ran across the ground towards his father..
AC: Papa.. aap kab aaye?! Maine aapka bahut intazaar kiya! Accha aayiye main aapko mere friend Anand se milaoonga! Uski mom bhi aayi hai.. come papa(he dragged his father towards AD and Siddhi by holding his hand)
Siddhi stood shell-shocked on the spot seeing AC dragging his father towards them! She did not know what to do. This was totally unexpected.. her brain stopped functioning as they neared her!
AC: Papa, meet my friend Anand and his mother Ms. Siddhi!!
