I am going to mention the conjunctions and prepositions in one of the lesson.

O is dominant when a wrd is ending with A. Payal is Payel here. You people say Amitabh , bengalis would say- Amitabho.

How did Payal become Payel if O is dominant??
Also wouldn't Amitabh become Omitabh?? This is what is confusing me as to when , how and where do we put O??

Gaurav would be Gouroab, we dn't use v much. 😊

I am trying to represent some simple sentences which we use for a regular convo. When we have to introduce ourselves or meeting some person for the first time, we tend to ask similar set of questions. So in this lesson I am going to mention those regular convo in bengali. Hope it helps.

Q. What is your name?

Tomar naam ki?

A. My name is Payal

Amaar naam Payal.

Q. What do you do?

Tumi ki koro?

A. I am a ______

Ami ekjon _____

Q. What is your profession?

Tomar pesha ki?

Q. Where do you live ?

Tumi kothay thako?

A. Ami ______ e thaki.

Q. Do you have something?

Tumi kichu nebe?

A. No, thanks.

Na, dhonnobaad.

It was nice to meet you.

Tomar songe dekha kore bhalo laglo/ legeche.

Now some miscellaneous conversational sentences and its bengali version.

What is your favorite sport/ serial, actor?

Tomar priyo khela/ dharabahik/ obhineta ke?

How do you spend your leisure? Tumi ki kore tomar obosor ( awe-bo- sawr) katao?

What are you thinking? Tumi ki bhabcho.

What are you writing? Tumi ki likhcho?

Who is your best friend? Tomar priyo bondhu ke? or Tomar sobcheye bhalo bondhu ke?

Whom do you love most? Tumi kake sob cheye beshi bhalobaso?

You are very good. Tumi khoob bhalo.

Are you busy? Tumi ki baesto? ( ae would be pronounced as A of apple, weird na? ) 😆

I am coming soon. Ami taratari aschi.

I am tired. Ami klanto.

Are you angry with me? Tumi ki amar upor rege acho?

I am sorry. Ami dukhkhito. ( duh- khkhi- to)

May I come in? Ami ki bhitore aste pari?

Thanks for all your kind words and appreciation bro. You already know how much I was scared and nervous regarding this teaching. I am happy i was able to do something little whatever I could. I hope people get to know my mother tongue well by now. But I know there will be better teaching sessions from this thread as other people are much more talented than me. 😊 😃
