So when the head of her orphanage is framed for a crime he did not commit, and Roja desperately needs a lawyer, she goes to Arjun. They've met once or twice before, and have a mutual dislike, but Arjun is willing tui help her out, for a price.

He's not a blackmailer though (unlike your typical ITV ML. Plus, the Tamil population would NOT accept that shit on TV). He wants to make a deal. He's being pressurised to marry his long lost Atthai's daughter by his family, and Roja doesn't have the money to pay him. A deal. Of a marriage. For a year.

But but but! Here's the catch! The contract he draft says, that after a year of marriage, he and Roja will apply for a DIVORCE. Not that the marriage will magically annul itself. No.

He gives her two days to think it over, clears her concerns about their physical closeness and the damage to both their reputations, and she agrees.

Haan vahi! Bataungi... It's actually about the very start of the serial. Which was legit nice upto 3 months and confession. Became boring after that though...

Soooo, back to the story. So, what happens is that Arjun and Roja marry at a temple with witnesses, then Register it with the same witnesses.

They fall in love by the third month of their marriage, and confess by the sixth.

But, if they HAD decided to part ways, they would have applied for a divorce at the end of one year, and gone through due procedure at a court, okay?

So, new to college me watches this, enjoys the first 3 months of their marriage, up to their confession, then stops watching.....

Yeah, it's actually really nice until their confession. Got a little vamps and nibba-nibby after that, but there were still amazing scenes, you know?

There's this one scene where Arjun's paati (who's against their marriage right from the start), tries to throw her out of the house when he's at his Office. The fight he puts up when his little nephew calls him up and tattles, is, phew!!!!! If only ONE of the rest of these MLs had those guts! He seperates their kitchens within the same house after that for a while....
