CHAPTER 1

If you know you are going home, the journey is never too hard

Shiva loved this place. Shiva loved Surat.

He had so many memories of this place. Some were good, some were bad but none of them were tainted.

When Raavi told him that she never wanted to see him again, he felt shattered. But later he thought about it and decided he owe it to her. So within a week he found out that one of his friend was trying to open a textile factory, he offered to work for him.

Little did he know, he had a knack of this stuff and all these years of working in store has made him a good businessman in all sense. Most importantly he was street smart and knew how things work and knew how people's minds work. He made some really good deals and when his friend offered him equal partnership in factory he couldn't believe it. It was something he had achieved on his own. And strangely he felt proud of himself.

Every night he could hear her voice, "apne liye jeene aur apne liye sapne dekhne me koi buraai nhi h Shiva... Aur jo tujhse sach me pyar karte h unke liye tere sapne poore hote dekhne se bada koi sukh nhi h.. " He didn't know why but he felt that she would be most proud of him and this thought used to give him immense satisfaction and zeal to work harder.

He had his share of burden here, but none like before. He didn't feel like he had to take responsibility of everything and if he didn't he failed his family somehow. That was the best part. Here he was burden free, guilt free... Every second he didn't feel like he had to repay the favor to his bhaiya bhabhi because they brought him up.

He needed that burden free life and if he was being honest, he deserved this life. That was another thing that he loved most about this place. This place had made him more honest about his feelings and he liked it. He no longer felt guilty about it. He no longer felt guilty about thinking his own happiness, his own life.

But as much he loved being here, he could not call this place his home. Yes, last two years had done so much good to him, it was almost therapeutic. He could feel his healing visibly. He could see the change and due to that he could feel what he was missing. He missed his home, his family, his brothers, his bhabhi, his mother, her. He knew she was not in Somnath anymore, she left within a month after he left but he couldn't ask anyone about it. Where she went? How was she? Did she get married? And everytime he got this nauseous feeling in his heart thinking that.

Everytime he used to visit Somnath his eyes used to wander around that he could get a glimpse of her. But none. His family too didn't ever mention her name to him. His mother sometimes cursed her with her sharp tongue because she blamed Raavi for his departure.. One day he snapped at her and told her that he will stop coming here if she ever say ill about her and after that she stopped too. That day he felt a different kind a satisfaction. He never ever crossed his mother but it was needed... He felt like a husband she needed.

These two years had been very good for introspection. He never had a normal childhood. For as long as he remembered he felt like he was a burden on his bhaiya bhabhi. Everytime gaumbi worked in store he felt guilty... Every time his mother behaved rudely with his dhara bhabhi, he felt guilty. He used to feel like that he was in some kind of debt and he had to repay the kindness. And he did. He sacrificed his studies so his brothers could study, gaumbi didn't have to do manual labour. He agreed to get married so on one question his Dhara bhabhi.

He understood now, how wrong he was. It was not needed.. But he didn't regret anything he did... Except one.

The thing he regretted most in his life was leaving her. Yet he somehow knew that at that time he did the right thing. He wanted to believe this. But he also knew that no matter how much he regret, he lost his chance.

But it also did not mean that he could not go to his family. When his friend Rishi told him that they are planning to open branch of their factory in Somnath and he could manage that solely if he wanted...he knew that it was time. Now he was ready to go home without burden. He was not moving on. He was going back.

To family. To home. He was going back to Somnath.

Okay sorry no Raavi in this chapter. But next one will be about her. Hopefully I'll post that by tomorrow itself. Please read and review
