Part 3: Kaisi Bata Yeh Betaabiyaan Hai, Hum Chalte Chalte Aaye Kahan Hai...

Shiva stood rooted in his spot as his eyes watched over Raavi in wonder. His breath hitched at the mere sight of her. She looked like an angel as she danced to the beat of the music. Her white kurta flowed around her as she swayed; she was a vision sent from heaven itself. He could tell she was feeling every emotion related to the song coursing through her veins. His lips curved upwards, betraying him as he tried to stop the fleeting emotions from wreaking havoc upon him. She was capable of making him experience multiple emotions per minute and the power she held over him seemed unreal at times. He watched in a trance as she bent down to help a kid master the dancing moves. He saw her smile at the little girl before her as she showed her how to perform some of the moves again before excusing herself for a minute. His heartbeat quickened seeing the most beautiful curve upon her face; a smile. He wished she would remain this way, forever.

While he was busy admiring her, Raavi had been walking his way when she finally noticed him. At first, she thought he was a figment of her imagination but when his name left her mouth in a whisper, his head snapped up as he was brought out of his thoughts. He looked like a deer caught in headlights and if this was any other day, she would have laughed, but she couldn’t get herself to do that today. Her eyes drunk in his appearance as she observed his handsome features. She could spend hours memorizing every inch of his skin and it wouldn’t seem enough to her.

“Shiva...” Another whisper left her mouth.

Hearing his name come out of her mouth felt no less than one of his prayers being answered. He wished he could replay the moment again and again. He stared at her doe-eyes, losing himself within their depths. As he stood glued to his spot, he realized he didn’t know what to say for once. His plan was never to get caught. All he wanted to do was catch a small glimpse of her and leave before she noticed.

Looking at him expectantly, Raavi hoped he would say something, anything. But when he remained mute, she decided to break the silence. “Tu-tu yahan kya kar raha hai, Shiva? Kisi se koi kaam tha?”

“M-main uh...woh..mujhe..” Shiva stammered. He had no clue how to proceed further.

Raavi took another step forward and found herself standing directly in front of him. There wasn’t a lot of space in between them and she wished she could close the distance and envelop herself within his arms. She craved his warmth. She craved his touch. She craved his fights. As she waited for him to answer, she felt one of the little girls run past her, pushing her in the process. Raavi stumbled into Shiva and he lost his balance, falling backwards. His arms instinctively went around her waist to steady her while Raavi’s hands went behind his head as she noticed him about to hit the cement floor. She cushioned his head from the blow and winced from the impact of the fall.

Shiva stared up at Raavi who laid on top of him. Her eyes were shut and she was trembling slightly. His arms tightened around her, not wanting to let go. He was about to say something to comfort her when he felt her palm behind his head. He slowly pushed upwards and Raavi opened her eyes, standing up quickly. His eyes landed on her palm and he saw blood dripping from it. He realized she had protected him from getting hit and his heart squeezed in pain. He wasted no time in grabbing her hand in his and inspecting the injury.

“Yeh kya kiya, Raavi? Khud ko takleef dene ki kya zarurat hai? Kitna khoon beh raha hai.” Shiva muttered in a daze as he blew softly on the outside of her palm.

Raavi looked at him in awe as she observed his concern for her. This wasn’t the first time he had shown his care for her but she had certainly missed this side of his. A beacon of hope lit within her as she realized that they had elements within their relationship which took some people years to build. Not only did they hold a certain familiarity with one another but there was an uninhibited sense of protectiveness which they held over one another. His concern and care for her had always been prominent. He used to show it in anger before but he had let his softer side come into play a few times as well. He was her silent protector. And today, she was able to return the favor at least once in her lifetime. It would never match up to all the times he had shielded her, but she realized she would do it again if it meant he would be safe from harm.

“Shiva, chhoti si chot hai, theek hojayegi. Par tu mujhe ek baat bata, chot mujhe lagi hai lekin dard tujhe horaha hai, kyun?” Raavi tilted her head and looked at him with renewed hope.

Shiva stopped in his tracks and cursed himself for the situation he had landed himself into. He had let his emotions get the best of him and yet he didn’t feel like lying to her so he opted for the next best thing. Silence. He walked off to ask Anita for the first-aid kit and let out a breath of relief. He didn’t like seeing her hurt but he was afraid of hurting her further with his words. More often than not, he had ended up blurting out some things in his anger which he usually regretted the very moment after those words escaped him. She was the only person in this world who got him to react in this manner, and at the same time, she was the only one who could render him speechless. At this moment, he wasn’t angry. He felt vulnerable. He was afraid that in an effort to conceal his feelings, he would end up sprouting absolute nonsense and this wasn’t something he could afford to do. So, he stayed mum and decided to leave after dressing up her wound.

Raavi watched him walk away and sulked in disappointment. Just when she thought she could coax him into talking, he proved her wrong. So, when he came back with a first-aid box in his hands, her eyes lit up in excitement again. This was the most alive she had felt in four weeks. Shiva started dabbing her wound with antiseptic wipes making her hiss in pain. He stopped when he felt her discomfort and looked at her to make sure she was fine.

“Tune mere sawal ka jawab nahi diya? Tujhe itni pareshani kyun horahi hai mujhe chhot lagne se?” Raavi gazed at him softly.

“Main iska jawab dena zaroori nahi samajhta.” Shiva stated, putting on a façade of pretense.

“Theek hai phir. Tujhe marham patti bhi karne ki koi zarurat nahi. Main apna dekh lungi.” Raavi replied haughtily. She pulled her hand away from him only to have him grab it back.

“Ae chipkali! Chup chaap main jo kar raha hoon mujhe karne de.”

Raavi looked at him surprised. “Kya bola? Chipkali? Phirse bol na...” She couldn’t help it when tears pooled up around her eyes. It had been so long since she talked to him in this manner. It had been too long since she heard him call her by the name which he had personally given her. Any other day, the same name would have irked her but not today. Currently, it gave her a sense of comfort; it made her feel at home. It felt like she was back in her safe space.

“Kyun? Tujhe toh iss naam se chidh hoti thi? Ab yeh kaunsa naya shauk bana liya hai ki tujhe yeh naam sunni hai?” Shiva asked with curiosity. In the meantime, he managed to put an ointment over her wound and wrapped it up with a bandage.

“Main kaise samjhaun tujhe Shiva ki ab mujhe tujhse judi hui har ek cheez se bahut lagaav hai. Phir chahe woh yeh naam hi kyun na ho. Humari bahut saari yaadein issi naam se judi hui hai. Ab toh isse sunne ke liye mere kaan taras gaye the.” Raavi thought to herself, her eyes never leaving his form.

He looked up to see her teary eyes and was left baffled. Why was she on the verge of crying?

“Ro kyun rahi hai? Dard horaha hai kya?”

“Nahi, kuch nahi...aise hi...Shiva...woh...main..kya hum..” As Raavi stuttered to get her thoughts across, the girls she was teaching started calling out to her. It was almost time for them to go home and they needed to get a final practice done which Raavi would have to watch over.

She looked at Shiva once more, her longing for him shining in her eyes in the form of unshed tears. Before she broke down in front of him, she walked away. She hoped this interaction of theirs wouldn’t be the last. Now that she had finally caught a glimpse of him after being away from him for all this time, she knew she would not be able to let go. Not anymore. She wanted him. She needed him. And for her, a life without him was not possible.

*****

Shiva watched her walk away and with every step she took away from him, his heart lurched painfully. He wanted to pull her back. He wanted to embrace her and never let her go. He wanted to make up for his mistakes and give her a life full of joy and vibrancy. But he wondered. He wondered if it was too late. He had after all ruthlessly pushed her away from him. And yet she protected him today. His heart swelled with an emotion he was too afraid to name. He knew he had gone down the deep end, and only she could help him resurface.

He walked back to the store, his mind and soul in shambles. He didn’t have a clue on what to do next but her tear-filled gaze engrained itself within his mind. He knew he saw hope in her eyes and he wondered if it was for him. He didn’t want to assume but the way she protected him and got excited over him calling her ‘chipkali’ made him rethink his decision. He had been pondering over his actions for weeks now and the past few days had made him unsure of everything. As he worked, his eyes landed on a bar of chocolate and a memory flitted across his mind. A fond smile made its way onto his face and he knew what he had to do.

*****

After Raavi got done showering, she changed into her night clothes and was about to settle in her bed when something caught her eye. Chocolates. They were kept neatly on her window ledge. She walked forward and grabbed them as she relived a memory.

Twelve-year-old Raavi was crying profusely after sustaining several injuries. She had gone bicycling with her friends and one of them had put forth a challenge. The challenge worked as a bet in that whoever won would get to have dibs on Dev, and Raavi had wanted to win badly. It was childish, and she had protested too but her friends didn’t relent. They teased her by calling her darpok and saying that she couldn’t do this much for her crush. Raavi knew she wasn’t as fast as them on the bicycle and yet she decided to take on the challenge. It was a matter of love, or so she thought in her childlike way. So, she peddled along and was exerting herself past her limits when she hit a sack on the road and toppled over, scraping her arms and knees in the process. Her temple took a hit as well, a bruise forming quickly. She liked to think she was brave but the injuries were far too much to handle and a dam of her tears broke out.

When she looked up, she saw she had managed to fall right in front of Pandya Store and everyone’s eyes were upon her. She glared at the sack which made her trip and looked over to see Shiva standing over it. Wiping her tears, she looked at him with an unsaid expectation. She was hurt, so she hoped that he would help her, putting aside their fights for now.

“Ae chipkali, uth. Tujhe humare dukaan ke aage hi girna tha?” Shiva asked.

Raavi sniffled at his harsh tone and extended her hand outwards, hoping he would take her hand and help her up.

“Chal hatt, khud uth ja.” He looked away.

“Areh Shiva beta, aise nahi karte. Dekh usse kitni chot aayi hai. Kitna dard horaha hoga. Usski madad kar de. Bechari kab se roye ja rahi hai.” Kaka called out to Shiva from behind the counter. He was serving the customers so he wasn’t able to come out to help as quickly as he’d like.

Shiva huffed before grabbing Raavi’s hands and pulling her up gently. His eyes glanced over her injuries and for a minute, he felt himself soften towards her. “Kaka ne bola issliye teri help kar raha hoon. Zyada hawa mein mat uddna.” He warned her before tugging her along to sit inside. He brought out a first aid kid and handed it to her. “Chal kar apni marham patti.”

“Bahut dard horaha hai. Mujhse nahi hoga. Main chalti hoon.” Raavi mumbled. She was embarrassed from the way she had fallen and she was glad her friends hadn’t been around her when it happened. Now, the pain she was experiencing made the situation even worse. She forgot why she even tried to take them up on their challenge anyway. The pain just wasn’t worth it. And as she got up to walk home, she felt someone pull her down.

“Chal baith. Main laga deta hoon. Lekin har baar main nahi karunga. Theka nahi le rakha maine yeh sab karne ka.” Shiva muttered.

However harsh he was in his tone, he made up for it by being even gentler in the way he handled her. Raavi couldn’t help but stare at him amazed, after all, this avatar of Shiva was a rare one, especially when it came to her.

“Shiva, tu dhang se baat nahi karta sakta? Dekh raha hai mujhe kitni chot lagi hai.” Raavi hiccupped as her tears subsided.

“Ae maami ki behen ki beti. Khush ho ja ki main itna sab kar bhi raha hoon. Bhabhi ne aise sanskaar diye hai varna tujhe raaste mein hi chhod deta.”

“Accha, ab Dhara di aagayi beech mein? Mujhe toh laga ki tune yeh sab kaka ke kehne par kiya?” Raavi giggled, already feeling better after bickering with Mr. Bhoothnath himself.

And as they continued their war of words, Shiva finished dressing up her wounds in no time. He was growing tired of her constant nagging.

“Hogaya. Ab phut le yahan se.”

“How rude.” Raavi sighed as she stared at something longingly.

Shiva’s eyes followed hers and he found her staring at a bar of chocolate.

“Aise ghoorna band kar. Nahi milne wala tujhe.”

“Kyun? Gaumbi ne khud kaha hai ke main jab chahun chocolate le sakti hoon.

Tujhe pata hai mujhe jab chot lagti hai tab mujhe kuch meetha khaane ka bahut mann karta hai? Mujhe better feel hota hai khaane ke baad.” Raavi pouted.

“Haan pan Gaumbi toh hai nahi. Aur main Shiva hoon. Tujhe toh yeh milne se raha. Teri kya chahat hai usse main pighalne nahi wala Ab nikal. Bahut dimaag kha liya tune mera.”

Raavi tried to grab the chocolate bar stealthily but Shiva ended up chasing her away.

That night, as Raavi sat in her room, she saw a packet gleaming on her bedroom window sill. She squealed when she grabbed it only to see her favorite bar of chocolates. For some reason, she thought Dev had given them to her despite him not even being aware of her accident. She herself hadn’t even thought of him ever since she fell. Her mind had instead been plagued with thoughts of Shiva instead. But her twelve-year-old self didn’t give it much thought after. She was busy living in a fairy tale land.

Raavi sniffled as realization struck her.

“Shiva...” A whisper left her mouth. In her naivete, she had thought it was Dev in her youth. But her heart now knew there was only one man who was this thoughtful when it came to her. He had seen her get hurt today. She had shared with him her love for sweets when they were younger. He remembered and he delivered. He did it then. He did it now. It had always been him. Her Shiva, her bhoothnath. The thought made her heart pound rapidly as she sat down on the edge of the bed, gripping her sheets tightly. Tears pooled around the edges of her eyes as she pondered over all his actions which might have gone unnoticed by her due to her unobservant nature.

“Itna care karta hai, itna sochta hai mere baare mein lekin kabhi dikhata nahi, aur naahi jatata hai. Bachpan mein bhi aisa hi karta tha. Ek number ka gadedha hai tu!” Raavi laughed through her tears as she felt the lightest, she has been in a few weeks. “Aisa kyun karta hai, Shiva? Kyun apne emotions ko chhupa deta hai hamesha? Mujhe ab yakeen hogaya hai ki uss din mere kamre mein tu hi tha. Jo sukoon mujhe tere hone se milta hai, woh iss duniya mein sabse alag hai. Tere jaisa aur koi nahi.” Raavi smiled tearfully, her heart yearning to see him and to be near him.

She knew they both had made their share of mistakes but when their relationship was such that it needed no validation from outsiders, why did they make it out to be such a public spectacle? In their moments of anger, they tore apart a bond that was fated to be. No matter what happened, she was determined to not let him go. They had something special in between them, more than words could describe and they would be fools to throw it away. That night, she smiled as she slept, her heart content with her feelings for Shiva. She wasted a lot of time chasing after her materialistic dreams. It was now time to chase after the one constant her life had always known; the man who was always meant for her; to be hers and for her to be his.

*****

The next day, Raavi was making halwa puri on her maasi’s insistence and her thoughts instantly drifted to Shiva. Her entire existence seemed to be consumed by him. Ever since last night, she had made up several different scenarios of what would happen when he would face her again. She wondered if their last interaction made a difference. It must have as he left her chocolates. She wanted to do something for him in return when she remembered how he loved halwa puri as well. She smiled as a fond memory raced across her mind. She decided to make some aloo chana as well, knowing very well he would adore the combination of foods.

With new vigor, she quickly made the food and scooped some into a tiffin. She felt the bounce in her steps return as she walked over to Pandya Store. But as she finally came to a halt in front of it, her heart started beating rapidly.

“Aa toh gayi hoon. Lekin ab kya karun? Agar woh mujhse milna na chahe toh?” Raavi muttered under her breath.

"Bahane kyun bana rahi hai? Saaf saaf bol ki tujhe uss ke saamne aane se darr lagta hai. Tujhe darr lagta hai ki tu khud ko usske baahon mein phenkegi. Usse gale lagegi, usse apne dil ki baat bataegi. Itna bhi kya darna? Kal toh woh khud tere paas chal kar aaya tha. Usske muh se ek shabd bhi nahi nikla jab tune poochha ki woh kyun aaya tha...tujhse milne aaya tha aur kya. Na tujhse jhoot bola jata hai aur naahi tere uss bhootnath se." Raavi’s inner voice continued to speak in her mind and she felt herself starting to sweat. It was true she was afraid, but she was afraid to face him because of her newfound feelings. She didn’t have control over them and the longing she felt for him kept increasing day by day.

Not sure how to face him, she observed him working from behind a stall, hiding herself behind some products in the process. She noticed that he was alone at the store and as soon as he walked back into the storeroom, she took her chance and quickly walked inside. She took out the tiffin and left it on the counter. She had posted a sticky note with his name on the tiffin so that nobody else could have a go at it. She wanted him to have what she made for him. Glancing at him one last time and admiring him for all of his hard work, she left albeit hesitantly. When she walked out, she felt her feet dragging along. Her heart was elsewhere as she walked back home. Lost in her thoughts, she hoped he would enjoy the treat.

*****

When Shiva walked out of the storeroom to serve a customer, he noticed a tiffin sitting on the countertop. He thought his bhabhi must have left it there at first. Once he was done with all of his work, he pulled the shutters of the store down to have his lunch. He opened the tiffin and was greeted with a delicious aroma. His stomach growled in hunger. He couldn’t help contain his excitement when he saw the contents of the tiffin; halwa puri and aloo chana. It had been a while since he felt this way about food. Ever since Raavi’s departure, he had turned his back on his once beloved food as well. As soon as Shiva took a bite of the halwa, he tasted the nature of its deliciousness alongside the extra ghee and cashews which were added. It was made just as how he loved it; as if whoever made it had kept him in mind while making it. Another thing that hinted towards this was the absence of raisins, which he wasn’t particularly fond of. There was only one person who despite all of their barriers, kept his likes a priority: Raavi. While his bhabhi made his favorite foods often, he had never shared the details of what he liked or did not like with her. He didn’t see the point in pestering her with such small issues, especially when no one else in his family was bothered by it. He helped himself to another spoon as he went over a memory in his head.

“Bhabhi, aaj mujhe halwa puri khaane ka bahut mann hai. Agar aap ke paas time ho toh kya aap bana dengi?” Shiva asked as he came back from a long day at work.

“Issmein puchne ki kya baat hai? Mera Shiva jo chahega main woh banaungi.” Dhara smiled and patted his cheeks.

Raavi, who was also present at the moment looked at the exchange in front of her, the cogwheels turning inside her head.

Shiva was about to walk towards the bathroom when he noticed Raavi and his eyes immediately shot her a glare. Feeling his steely gaze upon her, Raavi looked up at him and gave him a sickly-sweet smile. “Kya? Aise kya ghoore ja raha hai? Kabhi meri jaisi khoobsurat ladki nahi dekhi?”

Shiva scoffed in disdain. “Tu kuch zyada akad nahi rahi hai aaj kal? Itna bhaav mat kha. Tu abhi tak yahan kya kar rahi hai? Kabhi kabhi apne khud ke ghar ka sair bhi kar liya kar. Jab dekho yahan chipak ke baithi rehti hai. Aaj phir dinner thoosne ka irada hai?”

“Haan! Thoos kar hi jaungi. Mujhe permission hai thoosne ka. Tujhse kya lena dena? Waise bhi, yeh mera future sarusal hai aur main jab chahun yahan aa sakti hoon.” Raavi replied with a dreamy look.

“Mere hote hue toh tu yahan aane se rahi.” Shiva narrowed his eyes at her and spoke in a harsh manner. He stomped away after throwing her one last look of discontent.

“Bhootnath kahinka! Kabhi dhang se baat nahi karta sakta.” Raavi huffed. When she saw Dhara enter the kitchen, an idea popped up into her mind. She raced to the kitchen and called out for Dhara.

“Dhara di! Aap rukiye. Main bana deti hoon na halwa puri.” Raavi offered with a beaming smile.

“Arreh Raavi, tu kyun banayegi? Main hoon na. Main kar dungi. Tu fikr mat kar.”

“Di, aap ko aur bhi kaam hai na? Aap hi ne toh bola tha aapko Gaumbi ke saath bahar jaana hai kuch der mein aur issiliye aapne dinner pehle se hi bana diya hai? Ab aap ek halwe puri ke liye phirse thodi na itna saara kaam karengi? Aur phir aapke kapde bhi kharaab hojayenge. Aap jaiyye. Main sambhal lungi.”

“Lekin Raavi, tu Shiva ko jaanti hai na, woh tere upar gussa kar baithega toh...” Dhara fretted.

“Aap tension mat lo. Mujhe Shiva se nipatna bahut acche se aata hai. Aapko pata hai na mujhe usske dil mein apne liye jagah bhi toh banani hai. Woh abhi bhi mujhe apne hisse mein nahi ginta. Agar main usse apne yeh banaye hue tasty khaane ka andaz dila doon, toh phir woh bhukkad bhi maan jayega.” Raavi chuckled in delight. The way to a man’s heart is through his food after all.

Dhara hesitantly agreed when she looked at the time. It was almost time for her to go. “Theek hai. Lekin tum dono phirse jhagda mat karna, aur iss ghar ko baksh dena. Aag mat laga dena.” She warned. Raavi nodded along enthusiastically and got to work as Dhara left.

When Shiva got done showering, he was about to walk over to the kitchen when he noticed a plate full of halwa puri sitting on his designated spot. He called out for Dhara but didn’t receive an answer.

“Tere liye hi hai. Mera matlab woh plate, tere liye hai.” Raavi answered, stepping out into the aangan.

“Tu abhi tak gayi nahi? Chal nikal.”

“Arreh gussa baad mein kar lena. Pehle apna special halwa puri toh kha le.” Raavi pointed at his plate with her eyes.

Shiva was torn. He wanted to make her leave yet at the same time, he couldn’t ignore the delicious aroma wafting into his nose. He decided that the chipkali could wait. Food couldn’t. He sat down in his spot and took a bite. He almost moaned from the goodness of his food. He scarfed it down in no time and looked up to see Raavi staring at him with a glint in her eyes.

“Ae chipkali aise kya ghoore ja rahi hai? Nazar lagana band kar.”

“Kaisa laga halwa?”

“Accha hi hai. Bhabhi ne banaya hai after all.” Shiva replied proudly making Raavi smirk.

“Kuch different nahi notice kiya tune usske baare mein?” Raavi probed.

Upon her question, Shiva realized that the taste was a bit different. He looked down at his plate and saw some remains of cashews lying around. He also realized that he didn’t get a single raisin while eating.

“Haan. Iss mein kaju milaya hua tha aur kismish toh bilkul bhi nahi thi. Aise kaise? Bhabhi hamesha kishmish aur badaam daalti hai apne halwe mein.” Shiva mumbled in curiosity.

“Ae bhoothnath. Ek secret bataun?” Raavi whispered, coming closer to him. Shiva looked at her with furrowed brows.

“Yeh Dhara di ne nahi, maine banaya hai. Aur toh aur tujhe toh bahut pasand aaya. Tu ab mujhse jhoot bhi nahi bol sakta.” Raavi sang in a teasing voice.

“K--kya? Tune banaya hai? Kyun? Maine tujhse bola tha kya? Nahi na? Bhabhi se bola tha toh tune beech mein apni taang kyun adayi?” Shiva spoke angrily.

“Itna gussa mat kar. Dhara di ko bahar jaana tha toh maine unnse keh diya ki main bana dungi. Shiva, tu maane ya na maane, future mein main issi ghar mein aaungi. Teri pasand aur napasand bhi sab pata hai mujhe. Issliye maine isse waise hi banaya jaise tujhe pasand hai. Agar tu mera saath dega na, toh I swear main tujhe aise tasty tasty khaane bana kar dungi!” Raavi said gleefully.

“Tujhe toh main sapne mein bhi iss ghar mein na aane doon. Mujhe bribe karna band kar aur nikal ab yahan se. Mere upar yeh sab nahi kaam karne wala. Bahut jhel liya tujhe aur tere bakwaas ko.”

Raavi pouted but gathered her things anyway. As she was about to leave, Shiva stopped her.

“Ae gadhedi, ruk. T-t-tujhe kaise pata mujhe kishmish nahi pasand aur mujhe badaam se zyada kaju pasand hai?” Shiva sputtered in confusion. He couldn’t figure out how she knew his likes and dislikes when he hadn’t even divulged this information to his bhabhi.

“Simple si baat hai. Maine tujhe observe kiya hai. Jab bhi tu Dhara di ke banaye hue halwe ko khata hai, tu ussmein se saare kishmish nikal kar ek side par rakh deta hai. Aur ek baar tu Anita di ka banaya hua halwa kha raha tha jab tune uss mein kaju dekha. Tujhe woh bahut accha laga aur tu Krish se ussi ke baare mein baat kar raha tha jab maine sab sunn liya.” Raavi looked at him with a soft smile.

Shiva observed her with an undecipherable emotion swirling within his dark orbs.

“Ab main chalti hoon! Bye! Kal phir aaungi.”

As she left, Shiva was struck with a hidden sense of delight. He was surprised by how much Raavi had observed his likes and dislikes. She figured out what his family had never bothered to discern. He didn’t know she was capable of such distinguished skills. She had certainly left an imprint on him that day.

As Shiva finished his food, he couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by Raavi’s sudden gesture. He knew it was her who had left the food for him. He could tell it was made by her through the taste alone. The fact that she had made it just as how he liked it made his heart swell with joy. He enjoyed the attention he got from her. He had craved anything and everything to do with her for so long that this feeling within him made it feel like his chest would burst from the way his heart pounded against his ribcage. For the first time in four weeks, he suddenly felt lighter. He felt hope arise within him. He realized that Raavi wouldn’t just do something like this out of the blue. Her actions always had an intention behind them, even if they tended to be a little deluded as she had shown before their marriage. He knew he had to be blind to ignore the signals from her; to ignore the signs given from fate itself. He still felt hesitant but it wouldn’t hurt to try. What else did he have to lose? He had already done a lot of damage. It was now time to make amends.

Well, long time no see on this one, eh? 😆 I apologize for the delay. I was stuck for the longest time and wrote a little bit of the chapter throughout the week. I'm still not certain about it but there isn't much I can add to it for now. This was supposed to be the final part, but as you can see, it's not done yet. It got too long so the next part will be the last.

See you soon, hopefully!😃
