I guess makers themselves are caught in this tug of war between ShiVi fans who just want more ShiVi vs PS fans who want a more balanced storyline(many of whom I have a feeling have seen OG versions in different languages)

Jumping in, I belong to the latter group. I would much rather see a solid GauRa or DevTa track instead of just getting ShiVi scenes, esp when the scenes are not well written/executed! I think you bring up a very valid point! I think those who are only ShiVi fans want to see them (doesn’t matter what the story is). Every fandom has that subset who just want to see their favorites on screen. Unfortunately, quality suffers because of their aggressive nature at times.

I think most of us are fans of the show who see the potential in ShiVi’s story. But yeah if the PS spy is around, please do take note. Most of us don’t want ShiVi scenes for the sake of it 😆 I don’t mind a few ShiVi free episodes if the rest of the story is solid! Now if you can balance both, that would be amazing! 😉😆

One thing that is a big No No for me in a show is EMA and the justification given for it, I say get a divorce and move on, can’t digest such things.

My mom watches a few other shows but I can’t get myself to even look at the screen 😆 Personally if I can’t connect to the characters, I can’t enjoy a show. Wont even watch. So can’t really say if those are better. But def avoid the one that is named after a classic Rekha song 😆

I would recommend watching the first 75 episodes of KHKT! It’s such a refreshing and fun show! But it became awful after that and has a gross EMA track for the side characters later on. Another show I would recommend is Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant. Very different from ITV. Shiny has a small role in that one. It’s a really fun show on LifeOk (available on Hotstar). Honestly outside of these shows, I can’t think of any shows to recommend. Both of these are on Hotstar.

Edit: Your husband might enjoy the latter as well. My dad and bros can’t stand ITV shows 😆 but they love BHRK. My entire family watches it during Thanksgiving. Has become a tradition now 😆

SP does not give proper promos for PS. We got a promo on Saturday for what will happen on Monday...like at the end of the track. This Kangan track is pure TRP drama and if promoted from starting...we can expect a rise in TRP.

Also I really don't want Shivi centric tracks for sometime. They have so much to show with respect to others too.

I recently got into the show, Udaariyan. I started watching during the marriage track and have been watching since then and it’s really good. It was another forced marriage story line but the events that happen afterwards are a lot more realistic. In fact the marriage is a bit similar to PS but the after marriage part so far has been handled a lot better in my opinion.

As individual characters, I really like Shiva and Raavi and since their story isn’t making much sense I would love to see their bond with others. For example, Raavi with Krish and Gaumbi & Shiva with Rishita. I would love to see some actual store scenes now and issues with it and how the brothers and their wives figure out how to get out of problems. The family scenes in my opinion are more well written and to me they’re so wholesome. And of course, the pending Raavi and Dev conversation which I’m not sure if the writers are ever going to give us 🤪

Absolutely agree ❤️ I am ready to give up on the Dev & Raavi convo... not even sure if it’ll be as impactful at this point 😆

I have mostly grown up watching Telugu ITV and seldom watch Hindi ITV (some shows I followed were SNS, BV, TSMSP, KZK2, YHC, and GHKKPM to say in the least). The shorter the show the more I fall in love 😆

But my all time favorite show (nothing has surpassed it yet) is called Varudhini Parinayam which aired on Zee Telugu. I really hoped for a Hindi remake... still hasn't happened, but hopefully in the future! FL was absolutely kickass... never bowed down to the ML, and instead, knew exactly what to do to make him frustrated and annoyed.

The one episode I still remember to this day (because it was just so funny) was a puja episode where the couple needed to pour lake water on the god statue with a lota 100 times. ML and his mother (the antagonist) wanted to make the FL cry with this puja so they switched the lota into a huge lota. FL figures out their plan and hides the small lota from their sight. When it came time for the puja to begin, everyone finds out it's the ML who needs to do the puja, and the FL has the best time laughing it out.

That, and the show had so many funny nok-jhoks that I hope to see something similar with ShiVi.

But in terms of right now, I'm watching 2 other Telugu serials. In one of the serials, the FL (a doctor) is actively blackmailing her father (a would be politician) into accepting her. And in another serial, the FL is a police officer and the ML is a criminal. Both of them have pretty unique storylines. Keeps me busy as I do house chores.

With how she didn't say "Thank you" to Dev's "Happy birthday," I'm convinced Raavi will straight up ignore Dev even if he tries to apologize 😆
