PART- 3
Raavi sat by the Riverside to calm her mind.she wanted some solace.it was evening by the time she decided to go home.her maasima must be worried.
She reached her house to see maasima sitting at the sofa and staring at her furiously.anita was pacing back and forth the hall.maasi angrily came to her
" Kaha gayi thi Tu?" She asked
" Mai..woh..kirti se Milne gayi thi " she lied looking down.
" Dekh raavi .... mujhse jhoot Bolne ki kosish bhi mat Kar , sab pata hai mujhe. Tu maternity clinic kyu gayi thi? "Maasi asked shaking her by holding her shoulders.
Raavi looked up startled.how come she knows?
"Yeh ek choti sa sheher hai raavi, Aisi baatein aag ki Tarah phelti hai.log kya kya matlab Nikalenge tujhe waha dekhkar janti hai?" Anita said
So someone had seen her and even said to maasi behind her back. Mausapa was out of town for work for a couple of days.she had thought that she will wait for his return to say everything, but it looks like she has to confess today.
" Are ab Murat ki Tarah kya khadi hai?.kuch bolegi bhi" maasi said
Anita came forward and held her by the shoulders.
"Dekh raavi Mai jaanti hoo tune Kuch galat nahi kiya.tu waha jis bhi wajah se gayi thi ,hame bata de." Anita said to her lovingly.
" Mai pregnant hoo" she said In a low voice not being able to meet their eyes.
Anita was shocked.she slowly left her.her naive baby sister was pregnant?how can this be?
" Yeh kya bol rahi hai Tu? Bhang chadha ke Ayi hai ?" Maasi screamed.
" Yeh sach hai maasi "raavi whispered
Her maasi slapped her.
" Sharam nahi ati tujhe? Are Tujh jaise anath ko rehene ke liye chat Di... padhaya, likhaya ,itna pyar Diya aur Uska yeh sila Diya tune?" Her maasi slapped her again while cursing her
Maasi was about to hit her again, when Anita held her.
" Shant ho Jaiye maasi, ek Baar Uski poori baat sun to lijiye " Anita said.
" Kya sunu Mai? Are sunne ke liye bacha hi kya hai? Uske mausa ko pata chalega to Woh to jeete jee mar jayenge" her maasi sat on the sofa holding her head.
" Kya muh dikhayenge logo ko, hamara bahar nikalna mushkil ho jayega." Maasi was muttering to herself.
Raavi stood there sobbing, she knew she was going to get such a reaction.she deserved it.this was her punishment for loving and trusting Dev blindly.
Anita was angry.who had dared to mess with her sister?
" Kiska baccha hai yeh raavi?" Anita asked in a no nonsense tone.
" Dev " she said
Anita was expecting this. Dev, shiva and Krish were the only guys in her life with whom she talked to.she didn't have any guy friends in her college.
" Aree...Bola tha usse dur reh..Samajh nahi ata tujhe? Dushman Hu Teri Mai?" Her maasi said while crying.
Anita calmed her maasi down .
" Hame abhi chalkar unse baat Karni hogi.dev aur raavi ki Shaadi..." Anita continued when raavi stopped her.
"Koi fayda nahi.Dev mujhse Shaadi nahi karna Chahta Di."raavi said
Maasi was furious.anita was also taken aback.she had always thought Dev to be a decent and well mannered guy.
" Nahi karna Chahta matlab? Yeh sab use yeh kaand Karne se pehle Sochna Chahiye tha na" maasi said.
Maasi held Raavis hand.
"chal abhi ke abhi waha chalte hai." She said pulling raavi . Anita followed her.
" Maasi...Mai bol rahi hu..koi fayda nahi hai...Plzz Aap waha mat Jaiye." Raavi tried to argue but she didn't listen to her.
PANDYA NIWAS
Shiva, Dev, Krish and gombi were eating their food.dhara was chatting something with suman.
It was a normal evening at pandya house.
" Suman behen...dharaa.." she screamed as she entered the house.
Everyone was shocked to see maami and Anita in the house.they had never stepped inside their house in the last 10 yrs.how dare they barge in like that ?
Shiva saw maami pulling a crying raavi and frowned.
What's wrong?
" Are...aise kaise Meri Ghar Mai ghusi aa rahi hai? " Suman said as rage filled her eyes.
" Yeh Aap Apne laadle bete se puchiye. Puchiye usse ki kya Kiya isne Meri bacchi ke Saath?" Maami shouted pointing towards Dev.
Dev panicked.he cursed raavi under his breath.he had to act strong and handle the situation.
Shiva rolled his eyes at maami. Yes, Dev didn't love her.so what? You cannot force love.he has been telling her for a long time that Dev doesn't love her.she refused to let go, and now maami is creating a scene.
" Ae Dev..yeh kya keh rahi hai?" Suman asked looking at Dev.
" Mujhe nahi pata maa " Dev replied acting all innocent.
" Tujhe nahi pata? Aree Meri raavi maa banne wali hai,dev ke bacche ki." Maami declared.
Everyone was shocked. Shiva felt numb.he stood there rooted to the spot.what was maami saying?raavi ... pregnant?.he looked at raavi to see her expressions , but she just stood there with her head bowed down.
Dhara looked at Dev to get an answer from him.gombi came up to Dev and put one hand on his shoulder.
" Dev...maami kya keh rahi hai? Jo bhi hai bata de...hum sab tere Saath hai." He assured him
" Hann Dev...Tu bol.kya baat hai?" Dhara asked him.
" Maine aisa Kuch nahi kya hai . Maine Kuch din pehle raavi ko saaf keh Diya tha ki Mai usse pyar nahi karta, par Woh yeh baat accept nahi Kar payi.raavi...tum aisa kyu Kar rahi ho? Mai tumhe ek Accha dost maanta tha." Dev said trying to gain sympathy.
Dhara trusted Dev. She sighed in relief hearing him.
Raavi knew that Dev would do something like this.he will never accept the truth in front of his family, that's why she didnt want her maasi to come here.
" Yeh Tu kya keh Raha hai? Zara si bhi insaniyat nahi bachi kya tujhme? Tera baccha..." Maami said but was harshly interrupted by suman.
"BAS...mere bete ne keh Diya matlab keh diya.uska Teri beti se koi Lena dena nahi hai. Are tujhe Sharam nahi ati apni khudgarzi ke liye apni masoon beti ka iss Tarah tamasha banate huye?" Suman said furiously
" Wahh dhara....Aisi parwarish Di hai Tumne ise? Iss parwarish par naraz hai tujhe? Chiii." Maami said ignoring suman.
" Ek aur shabd nahi. Mere baccho par sawal uthane se pehle Apne Ghar jhaak ke dekh.agar yeh sach Mai maa banne wali hai na, to Kisi aur Ka paap hamare sar mat daal " suman roared.
Raavi had never felt so humilated in her life.she wished the ground to open up and swallow her .she didn't even have the courage to look up.
Shiva looked at raavi for a reaction, but she was still standing like that.why was she not saying anything? Her silence was strengthening his suspicion that this was some ploy by maami.When maami insulted dhara bhabi, his patience broke.he came forward and grabbed raavi by the arm.
" Tujhe Sharam nahi ati. Dev ne tera pyar kya thukra Diya to yeh Naya natak Kar rahi hai iss Ghar Mai ghusne ke liye? " Shiva said tightening his grip on her arm .
" Natak..? " Raavi whispered looking up at him.she had given up on Dev .a small part of her had hoped that he out of all people will trust her.she didn't know why but she had hope.
Shiva felt uncomfortable under her questioning gaze , but soon recollected himself.this family had hurt his family enough.not anymore.
" Ek baat kaan kholkar sun le..jab tak shiva pandya zinda hai tab tak Tu iss Ghar Mai nahi ghus Sakti " shiva pulled her out grabbing her arm.
Maami and Anita followed hastily.
" AE shiva kya Kar Raha hai? Usse lag jayegi.." maami said.
He let her go once outside the house.
" Agar dobara pandya niwas ke aas paas dikhi to mujhse Bura koi Nahi Hoga " he said pointing a finger at her.
" Aur maami Tu..mujhe nahi pata tere tedhe dimag Mai kya chal Raha hai, par Mai tujhe dobara mere parivaar ko takleef dene nahi dunga." He said and shut the door on their face and took a deep breath.
Maami and Anita held raavi and took her home consoling her.
PANDYA NIWAS
Everyone sat there gloomily.what happened had shaken everyone to the core.
Dev was hoping that raavi will get an abortion and this matter would end.he knew his family will trust him over her anyday, but he can't keep the truth under wraps for long.
" sab aise mariyal jaise kyu baithe ho? Dev ne keh Diya Uska iss baat se koi Lena dena nahi hai to nahi hai.Ab koi iss baare Mai na sochega , na baat karega." Suman declared and signalled Krish to take her to the room.
Shiva was standing by the pillar with his arms crossed with a stone face.
" Agar raavi sach Mai pregnant hui to? Bechari Kitni masoom hai." Dhara said feeling worried for raavi .
Shiva flinched at her words.he couldn't imagine that something like that can happen with her chipkali.wait...did he just say his chipkali? He needed to clear his mind.
" Ab Jo bhi hai dhara...yeh Unke parivaar Ka mamla hai.wohi sambhale to behtar hai.agar humare rishte acche hote to hum Kuch keh bhi sakte the, par ab humara iss mamle se dur rehna hi behtar hai." Gombi explained
Dhara signed.he was right.she just prayed that raavi was fine.
Dev hastily retired to his room.
Shiva made his way out.he felt suffocated.
" Kaha jaa Raha hai shiva?" Dhara asked him
" Mera dum ghut Raha hai bhabi... thoda tehel ke aata hoo. Aap Mera intezaar mat karna " he said and walked off.
He rode his bike in full speed and stopped by the tree.he always came there when he was upset.
He sat on it and was shaking his legs vigorously. Every childhood memory replayed in his mind .how he lost his father.how Anita and maami had insulted Gombi on his wedding.his mother's kangan.he had always thought raavi to be an extension of maami. She often beared the brunt of his hatred.but he couldn't deny the fact that she was very different from maami. Her tear stained face replayed in his mind.he couldn't get the picture of her hurt eyes out of his mind. He had noticed that Dev had been acting different from the past few days .what if there was any truth in what maami was saying? His heart and mind were at conflict with each other.he held his head in between his hands and closed his eyes.he will go insane if he does not find out the truth soon.he sat like that for hours thinking about raavi, Their childhood memories, their fights, her infectious laughter. He did not remember her crying. He was sometimes jealous of her ability to stay so happy.she was definitely not the same girl he saw today at his house.
The sun rose and the birds started chirping, that's when he realised it was already dawn. He resolved to get to get to the bottom of the matter and got up.
RAAVIs HOUSE
Raavi could not sleep the whole night.the scene of shiva throwing her out of the pandya house kept playing in her head.why was she thinking about him? They were enemies.right? Why was she expecting him to believe her?
Because, he has always been your saviour.
her heart whispered.
Yes, no doubt shiva fought with her but there were countless times he had saved her. She remembered the time when shiva had beat some guys in his clg black and blue because they misbehaved with her. The number of times he had dropped her home when she was stuck somewhere.she sighed.
She suddenly felt nauseous, she rushed inside the washroom.
Shiva entered the room through her window.he frowned when he noticed that she was not in the bed. His heart stopped for a second when the thought of something bad happening to her crossed his mind.then he saw her coming out from the washroom.
He observed her carefully.she looked pale.her eyes looked as if she hadnt slept properly for days, they held a lot of pain.no, those eyes could never lie.she looked so fragile.
Raavi was surprised seeing shiva there.
" Tu Yaha kya Kar Raha hai? Meri aur insult Karni hai tujhe? " She asked
" Kab pata Chala tujhe? " He asked not paying heed to her questions.
"Mai to natak Kar rahi hu na? Mujhe to Shauk hai apna tamasha banane Ka ." She said sarcastically.
Shiva closed his eyes guiltily.
" Tu to jaanti hai na mujhe.jab koi dhara bhabi ya maa ki insult karta hai to Mera gussa control Mai nahi rehta " he admitted
" Tu bhi to mujhe bachpan se jaanta hai na " she whispered and broke down.she sat down on the floor.her strength giving up.
Shiva came forward and held her shoulders.
" Sambhal khudko raavi ' he said.
She put her head on his shoulders.
" Nahi ho Raha mujhse shiva.thak chuki hoo mai.agar nahi tha mujhse pyar to keh Deta ...sambhal leti Mai khudko.par itna bada dhoka?" Raavi cried her heart out.
Shiva put his arms around her and hugged her.tears welled up in his eyes seeing her in this vulnerable state.
She reciprocated the hug and held him tightly.she was scared.she needed someone to talk to.she needed the support.
" Mujhe bahut darr lag raha hai shiva.kya Hoga ab? Mere bacche Ka kya Hoga? Kya karungi Mai.?" She said in between her sobs.
" Mai tujhse vada karta hu Mai sab thk Kar dunga.sambhal Apne Aap ko." He spoke sincerely stroking her back to stop her crying.
She got hiccups from all the crying.shiva broke the hug and made her drink water.he helped her get up and made her sit on the bed.
" Ab Tu yeh Ganga Jamuna bahana band Kar aur soja. Waise to Teri shakal hai Hi chipkali jaisi, ab Puri bandariya lag rahi hai." Shiva said on a lighter note.
" Tu bahut galat time par joke maarta Hai shiva " she pouted
He made her lie on the bed and covered her with the blanket.he kept stroking her head.raavi felt at peace after so many days.she drifted off to sleep.
The pain in shivas eyes was replaced by rage.dev has to give him some serious answers.he left to go to pandya house .
Okay I like this direction .I really didn't expect Shiva to believe her like I hoped so but you know kept expectations low ...I want Shiva to ask Dev for answers and whatever Dev did should be known to tha family especially Suman and Dhara
Dev went a new low when he said he doesn't know what she is saying ..urghh..hope Shiva becomes her strength and saviour now ..it is such a delicate time for her ..she needs all the support
