I feel people aren't able to separate the character of the writer with the writing of his show. Also since it's wahaj every single detail is analysed and ripped apart.

Even gm had problematic dialogues but since nobody gave a damn about that show, it's aspects aren't discussed, whereas even haters are interested in smd so it gets dissected and discussed a lot.

My honest opinion, there’s a lot of people watching it for the sake of nitpicking. Or they will watch a clip and make a billion assumptions on it. Context is so important for some scenes. Of course there are those that are sincerely watching it and have genuine criticism to share so I’m not talking about them.

My biggest criticism is the pace and lack of Wahaj which I’m hoping will improve…I feel like it already started. The misogyny and problematic content I’m mostly ignoring, because I’m already doing that with every other show that I watch. I’m used to it I guess.

I think we’ll have Bilal going with Zaviyaar and we’ll see some scenes of them there…or knowing my luck, this is the time they will cut Zaviyaar’s scenes therefore cutting Wahaj’s too. Back in Pakistan, the Ammar and Sadaf stuff will start. I guess he will find out the truth and try to be there for her while declaring his love. Amongst the fainting or poisoning himself (whatever is happening), Sadaf will feel guilty and agree to marry him.

I agree. We have shows like Katha where the hero makes an offer to the heroine to sleep with him if she wishes to get money and the woman agrees because she wanted money on an immediate basis to save her son who was suffering from a terminal illness...This was an adaptation of a Turkish show...The man & woman eventually fell in love....This is what i call controversial!

I didn't find anything excessively controversial about SMD so far...Sadaf couldn't take a loan and she didn't want to take Bilal's help for free, this is the best option she saw. We don't think straight under immense pressure which is fine..This is how fiction works, she offered, Bilal refused, her opinion about Bilal started changing.

It's mainly coz Wahaj is a part of it and the writer is a certified misogynist, people are using the smallest of opportunities to nitpick and criticize! Some of the criticism makes 0 sense and is outright stupid to say the least.

How is the doctor advising a patient to go abroad for further treatment is unreal? In ITV, we often show a woman prays to God and the husband gets well when medical science fails and the wife's love wins...Story telling and cinematic liberty bhi koi cheez hoti hai...The mudda was not the illness but the fact that Billal becomes the saviour and this is what the writer wanted to convey which he did !

As of now, pace, less of Wahaj and color grading are my issues with SMD...Bilal did have screenspace in the last two episodes which is good...If they can speed up the pace & focus on Bilal-Sadaf then the show would fair better.

Haven't watched GM, so no clue, When i do not like something then i do not watch it and waste my time tweeting or commenting about it..didn't like GM's teasers and it didn't have my fav actors in it so didn't bother watching.

For now they should definitely wrap it up....Maybe later if Bilal relapses and develops complications as he was the donor then the track can be explored..I actually want Billu to fall sick later on and Sadaf to find out the truth that he was the donor...The angst would be beautiful

So are we sure Bilal is the donor? I thought he was going because he has more resources and it’s easier for him to make arrangements. I guess he could be the bone marrow donor too. Either way though, he is being very supportive to the family in their time of need so even if he isn’t the donor, he’s done enough.

Exactly, What is even so problematic in the show?

Is the ml forcing himself on fl? He is forcefully making her marry him?

Is he slapping her or physically assaulting her?

Is he threatening or misleading her?

Is he kidnapping people or murdering them?

Is he hiding his casonava image from her?

Nope, he is just loving her selflessly loving from afar, making sure he helps and protects her and her brother. Like he said in the promo, he doesn't even need sadaf to love to her.

The premise of story is so beautiful, showing selfless one sided love from the male lead for the female lead, but still it's somehow problematic, because wahaj is doing the show and evrything he doesn't needs to be critically analysed and criticised.

The screentime issue we had but hopefully from next week bilsad story will start and wahaj will be having better screenspace.

Remember we saw a bts of maya in a Mercedes car wearing the shawl that billu had on during the rain sequence? I think that's gonna be a very imp sequence.

Sadaf might get to know about bilal being the donor or she might realise her feelings for him and she'd go about in search of him. And finally finds him out and hugs him from behind and confesses that she loves him back, omg that scene would be so romantic and angstyI really want a backhug scene of bilsad🥺

It was shared in previous threads. I don't have it now but will try to find out. It was a night sequence and maya was driving a mercedes car wearing that shawl. I really hope that scene has something to do with bilsad.
