Saad is a red flag covered in beige paint .. I’ve been saying this from the start .. I don’t know why when male characters show some half decent basic human behaviour in these shows, ppl turn them into martyrs..

Barring this I've never any red flag associated with saad. He has always done more than necessary to make maheer comfortable. And the patience and understanding he has shown is beyond basic decency at this point. Passive aggressive toh kabhi bhi nahin hua yeh.

And I'll disagree that just because he doesn't have money and power he can't show his ego. In asian societies, the fact of marriage itself gives the man power. We see it in our society the power a man has over his wife across all economic classes.

And no, its not bec he is in love with her that he didn't display his patriarchal views before. pyaar ka woh achaar dalega when he is going to lose her anyways as she keeps talking to and meeting her ex boyfriend and openly declares herself to be still in love with him while painting herself as the lone victim.

Job toh uski abhi gayi thi. Pehle toh job thi. Financially stability and all. And he was the one bearing all the expenses of her dad and mom before too. He had plenty of power over her.

If the situation was reversed and the guy kept running after his ex, we would be throwing tomatoes at him. In fact it would be socially acceptable for him to leave her at this point. Yet he defends her at every turn and leaves all the decisions in this relationship with maheer.

I feel like saad doesn't think he has any haq over maheer as a husband. But only duties as a friend.

... He probably doesn't want maheer working to provide for the family. In his mind its almost as if she is being forced to work due to the circumstances and not Bec she wants a career. She is not at fault for the loan so why should she suffer. He literally just wants her to be happy and only do things that she wants.

Did you hear Anabia and Areeb phone convo?Anabia basically asked Mahi to do something rather than sitting at home all the time before the loan thingy even happened and Mahi said to her that Saad wont be giving "permission " to do it!Areeb said who is he to give permission to her for that.And Ana said Mahi has started giving importance to Saad's preferance and his opinion matters to Mahi a lot.

But we never saw that anabia and maheer conversation... Anabia is hardly the non biased person here... Who knows what mahi said and what anabia interpreted...

Because from the scene between saad and maheer, it was obvious that it's the first time saad was hearing anything about a job.

.... Also from the scene it didn't look as if maheer had any idea that saad was going to object.. Neither she looked worried that she'll have to convince him... She casually told him that she already made and sent out her CVs (without his so called 'permission') and she's expecting something would happen within a week...

I still think that the only reason he objected was bec he thought she is being forced to work bec of the situation.... And he has always been the one to take on her troubles and tell her to relax..

...on the off chance, if it turns out that saad objected bec he has some regressive idea about women and working, i think it will be good to see maheer make him realize that he is being an ass... It will be a nice growth plot for saad, maheer and their relationship ... He doesn't have to be perfect, just be open to change... As long as they have conversations as husband and wife and understanding each other, its good.

But Anabia cant make up the whole permission thing if it wasnt told to her and later on we saw the same thing actually happening in Saad Mahi convo.Also Mahi's sole purpose was not to help him out,she wanted to help her parents out financially.She told her father was khuddar and never asked for money from someone else and neither her mom seemed comfortable taking money from Saar,no matter that he is the son in law its always going to be embarassing and uncomfortable to ask for money from him for all their need.As a daughter its her responisibility to provide for her parents and Saad shouldnt and neither do have any right to put a stop to it.Mahi is a flawed character and now Saad is shown to have some flaws as well and there is no harm in pointing that out.I do hope that Mahi actually have a convo with him and tell him about her perspective regarding the job and also he can broaden his mindset regarding it and hence have a healthy relation.
