Hum tv clarification post on a show

Can a viewer of the show explain this ....why hum tv had to clarify it

We would like to take this opportunity to clarify that our audience has misunderstood the content in our drama “Juda Huay Kuch is Tarah”. The issue that has been handled is of cousin marriage and giving the drama a different angle that is misleading the audience.

HUM TV is a responsible network and is very well aware of social acceptability of our content. We proudly claim that we maintain extremely high standards of productions and balanced platform ensuring that our audience not only has access to quality production but also provide diverse content.

It is clear in the drama that the characters “Maha and Asad” are cousins and the entire plot has been manipulated by a negative character to destroy the relationship.

Hum TV is committed to bringing quality content for its viewers and we shall continue to do that.

I've never watched this show but I heard they were essentially showing an incestuous relationship, so there was a lot of controversy. The plot was a married couple (I think) finding out they were breastfed by the same woman, which would Islamically make them brother/sister. So obviously getting married would be a sin.

They were not breast-fed by the same woman, it's something made up by a character on the show to break them apart.

Ok now it makes sense

I know. I read HUM TV's clarification. I was just explaining why there was controversy...

I knew hum tv would be professional for the most part. Alas, they are a household name amongst pakistani community.

All’s well that end’s well. But I hope they do take into consideration how sometimes scripts can be horribly interpreted.
