It is always good to know about different cultures. 😊 this helps in understanding and accepting the differences between ppl. Coming from a country which has one religion and one culture I couldn't understand how can ppl who live in countries with different cultures deal with the differences between them.🤓 Now I knew that with good understanding nothing is impossible.

yes rakhi s very beautiful festival,I am not sure lol if there is no clandestine things going on lol even in villages 😆 but definitely not allowed openly haha..

About different cultures thing. Whatever india is at least when i was growing up they just entrench you from school...respect for different religions and in general people are god fearing and there is no concept as my religion is best. We are raised thinking that there are many paths to god...and to be religious you have to have compassion first///anything else comes later.

now a days loads of issues are there but at least they tried. and (i left india a while back..my dad thinks it is now changing for worse).even in our education specially in indian punjab after tragedy of losing so many of our gurdwaras, rivers, land and city of Lahore due to partition education system worked towards making people be nostalgic towards that lost punjab and not hate its present occupants .I am not sure if they succeeded lol in that department, but punjabi indians are the most friendly towards pakistanis than rest of indians 😆

Someone posted that Adoptions are not allowed in Islam.. Is that true????? 😳

Doesn't make sense. For a religion that preaches a man to keep multiple wives as a way to support a widowed woman, why would it not let adoption of orphan kids? Hmmm.. 🤔

Adoption is to give the kid you take under your wing, give him the status of a real son/daughter, all the rights , and rules of a real son. It isn't allowed in Islam . But Islam encourages rising orphans. Means if you take a child under your wing, make him like your son but without giving him your name , or the rights of a heir . Also hijab is a must. And you can even get married to a girl which you sponcer. The simple example you can see is in the Indian movie: Lamhe . 😳 This explains that adoption in Islam is different.

Oh My God...how can anyone marry a person who you have brought up as your child. How can someone go from being "like a child" to "partner" . That's weird.

Lamhe didn't go down well with me, but at least he wasn't raising her in his house like his child or anything.

So are there no formal legal adoptions in Islamic countries then? Kids just stay in orphanage until adulthood?

I was talking about the posibility . Not the actual act . Just wanted to tell that they have no real relativity like a father and a daughter.

I know . I drew the comparison just to show you that he rised her as a child without giving her his name or the status as a real daughter. And this movie is among my favorites. There's also an Egyptian movie which have the same story. I tink both these movies are inspired from a western movie.😕

In society we see many ppl adopting kids, giving the all the rights as own kids. My neighbour was childless , she adopted a girl. Many ppl don't follow Islamic rules about adoption .

That's nice to know. Sometimes i wonder when couples go to all possible lengths and treatments to have a baby of their own blood... If it is really worth it. Might as well adopt a baby instead of all these painful invasive procedures.

I don't believe in bloodline and khoon ka rishta anymore than i believe dil ka rishta. Biological baby and adopted baby both are exactly the equal. With an older child, his/her past might make it tricky, but when you adopt an infant, it is all on you and your parenting alone.

My main concerns with Lamhe are-

1. Guy truly deeply madly loves a girl inspite of her not being in his life. So much so that he remains bachelor For majority of his life. And then he agrees to her daughter??! It is almost like, almost.. his daughter if he loves the mother so much rt? Imagine being in love with the mother and the daughter at once. Gosh no.... Incestous!

2. And make it worse by making the daughter a lookalike of the mother. That's even worse. Wonder whom will the guy think of when he gets romantic or makes love to his wife who is a lookalike of his first love. How will he ever get over the mother. Every small or big thing his wife does will either make him think "she is just like her mom" or otherwise "she is so different from her mom". Distasteful.

I watched Lamhe when I was 18 yrs old. My fav on screen couple was Anil/Sridevi.😳 Sri looked sexy with that haircut. So I had to shut all my doubts about their characters marriage.😆 I thought the same like you, but didn't let those thoughts stop me from enjoying this movie. After all his love for her mom was platonic and one sided. It was like a teenager fantasy. He stayed pachelor not because of that love although he thought the same. But it is because he didn't find a true love . I believe her daughter was another personality. She was the opposite, full of life and caring. How can't anyone fall for her!😕 So his first love wasn't real. Only the last one.

These are all man made rules...what is the purpose of such a marriage where the husband and life are living in two different countries and dont even see each other?

Bht benefits hain😃.We need a new DOTW thread to discuss more new topics. Our destiny is already written and we will get what is written in our destiny. My husband and I are in different countries but we are still happy without each other. He is enjoying his life in Qatar with his family and friends and I am happily living in Turkey with my family. Not only my husband and his mother but also my elder brother and uncles are in Qatar

im not against adoption but its not the same feeling...the feeling you get giving birth to a child, a life inside you, someone who resembles you and your husband like a symbol of your love

That feeling cant be matched with anything
