Hi all :-)

Currently binge watching Mann Mayal (just finished episode 11) and wow I am hooked! Absolutely LOVE IT. Hamza and Maya share amazing chemistry together! Every single scene is beautiful and emotional! Mannu and Salahuddin have made me cry in lots of scenes when together and as seperate characters as well - when Salahuddin didn't open the door, the after marriage scene where Mannu calls him and he tells her they shouldn't talk.. their breakdowns literally broke my heart! Wow.. 😭 the scenes with Salahuddin and Ifty's dad.. and there was one scene where Mannu sits in front of the mirror, she smiles and then begins to cry - "phirse aage. Manhoos" referring to her tears!šŸ‘ - i have to say I think this is Maya's best? She's spot on with her emotional scenes.. totally in awe!

I think the main reason I made this post was because i've seen sooo many people trash this show. I mentioned wanting to watch it on twitter and I was told by almost everyone it was trash.. but i'm 11 episodes in and I love it? Maybe it gets bad later but right now i find it super good!!

Maybe it's a drama one can enjoy after binge-watching? (Reminds me of Gustakh Ishq. Liked the drama when i binge-watched it but genuinely believe I wouldn't be able to have watched it if it was airing once a week!)

I guess my post was really to fangirl and also find out what ya'll thought of the show?šŸ¤—

- also appreciation statement for the CUTENESS BETWEEN SALAHUDDIN AND BIYA. Such cute siblings!!!! SHE IS SO SWEET.. PROPER ROMANCE FANGIRL LOLšŸ˜†

Hi all -

So I just finished Mann Mayal and MY HEART!!! IT WAS SO EMOTIONAL AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVED LOVED LOVVVED IT.

I love how Mannu resumed her education in the end. I LOVE HOW SHE OPENED THE DOOR and i loved the acting in this dramaā¤ļø

Sorry to say but this show falls into pits after the first 15 episodes or so...At least that's how I remember it as...But you may have a point about the show being not that bad when binge watched...Years ago I remember live watching a show called Mausam and getting annoyed by it but recently I watched it again skipping through all the boring parts and surprisingly this time it wasn't that bad...

Might have watched 4 or 5 episodes when it came out and know about the infamous "meray maa baap nahin hain" dialogue and the rest of the story from social media, I guess. It was very hyped up but I thought it was pretty bad. Didn't feel like the leads had any chemistry and the story didn't make much sense, even from the beginning. Hamza came off more as annoyed than in love with Maya's character. For Maya, let's just say I still wonder to this day about why she won that award over Saba Qamar and Mehwish Hayat- the character was bizarre and all over the place. Really nice OST though, still listen to it from time to time.
Yeah. Sorry if I kinda ruined your parade there.

Haha no no it's fine. I get you. I understand the bit about Salahuddin getting annoyed but I feel he was more playful and caring. He felt he was looking out for her and she was a child.. which was a major flaw imo. It's like Mannu says later- "woh apni dil seh sochti hain aur Salahuddin dimaag seh" which is why he kept scolding her or telling her what can or can't happen. Acting wise- i think Maya was amazing though ngl!!! What were Saba and Mehwosh nominated for? If you remember :-) all 3 actresses are WOW

I don't think Maya is a bad actress. This was just one of her weaker roles. She was very good at the start and was the only one who got my attention, but as the story and character changed, I think her acting started to fall off too.

I know what you're trying to say about the dil and dimaag dynamic Salahuddin and Mannu had and it was an interesting one. I just thought it could have been better translated on the screen. My memory of the show is pretty vague now since the show was aired two years ago, but I didn't think there were any convincing scenes of why Mannu and Salahuddin liked each other especially since they didn't seem too fond of each other at the start.

As for the other two actresses, Saba was nominated for Besharam and Mein Sitara. Mehwish for Dilagi.

I think their love strengthened after they got separated...It happens in real life too...The more you cannot get someone, the more you want to be with them! Mannu and Sallu get separated but keep only thinking of each other in everything they do...Mannu gives her 100% to her husband not for that loser but for her love Sallu...Sallu gets out of that village and becomes successful not for his parents, not for his sister but for Mannu...So yeah, I get the eternal undying love part...But what I didn't like is the random unreasonable irrelevant characters and their storylines that kept on popping in and taking the story away from its main core...

@Jolly: Mausam is okay...if only for Ahsan K ! :)

Ahhh I understand. On Mannu's end, first episode seemed as if she got irritayed by him but then in later episodes, we have flashbacks of her being dreamy and wanting to wear his fav colour suits!? šŸ˜† with Salahuddin, i think him liking her was always there with Biya's teasing and all.. i thought maybe he didn't realise it yet or was reluctant to see it (argh remembering how cute they are in the beginning LOL!!!)😳

Ahh okay tfs !!! Saba's Besharam - i think she was good in it, s7per good but not award worthy? I think she has done better e.g. Baaghi, Maat which has truly shown her potential.. although she was super subtle in Besharam so yeah.. Mehwish was pretty good in Dillagi too. Fair play..
