Sorry to say but this show falls into pits after the first 15 episodes or so...At least that's how I remember it as...But you may have a point about the show being not that bad when binge watched...Years ago I remember live watching a show called Mausam and getting annoyed by it but recently I watched it again skipping through all the boring parts and surprisingly this time it wasn't that bad...

Might have watched 4 or 5 episodes when it came out and know about the infamous "meray maa baap nahin hain" dialogue and the rest of the story from social media, I guess. It was very hyped up but I thought it was pretty bad. Didn't feel like the leads had any chemistry and the story didn't make much sense, even from the beginning. Hamza came off more as annoyed than in love with Maya's character. For Maya, let's just say I still wonder to this day about why she won that award over Saba Qamar and Mehwish Hayat- the character was bizarre and all over the place. Really nice OST though, still listen to it from time to time.
Yeah. Sorry if I kinda ruined your parade there.

I don't think Maya is a bad actress. This was just one of her weaker roles. She was very good at the start and was the only one who got my attention, but as the story and character changed, I think her acting started to fall off too.I know what you're trying to say about the dil and dimaag dynamic Salahuddin and Mannu had and it was an interesting one. I just thought it could have been better translated on the screen. My memory of the show is pretty vague now since the show was aired two years ago, but I didn't think there were any convincing scenes of why Mannu and Salahuddin liked each other especially since they didn't seem too fond of each other at the start. As for the other two actresses, Saba was nominated for Besharam and Mein Sitara. Mehwish for Dilagi.

I think their love strengthened after they got separated...It happens in real life too...The more you cannot get someone, the more you want to be with them! Mannu and Sallu get separated but keep only thinking of each other in everything they do...Mannu gives her 100% to her husband not for that loser but for her love Sallu...Sallu gets out of that village and becomes successful not for his parents, not for his sister but for Mannu...So yeah, I get the eternal undying love part...But what I didn't like is the random unreasonable irrelevant characters and their storylines that kept on popping in and taking the story away from its main core...@Jolly: Mausam is okay...if only for Ahsan K ! :)
