The two last chapters are super. 👏 Its like we can feel Deepa's pain and I feel a little bit bad for Khailash. He should never have agreed to play with someone's feeling and emotions 😡 . Ajay is a creep who doesn't deserves no love from anyone. 😡

Thanks for the story Leena. I read two chapters together. It's quite sad at the moment, and of course the story needs it. Can't wait for them to be holding hands soon.

CHAPTER 44

deepa stared at kailash coldly & his grin dropped a fow notches. "hi deepa. how are you today?" he asked her tentatively. "how do you expect me to do kailash? happy & cheerful after your betrayal?" she snapped at him nastily. kailash's grin completely faded into oblivion. "deepa.. I'm really really sorry for what I did. see I got you your favourite roses! I hope you'll forgive me!" he pleaded with her earnestly. "no." deepa replied flatly & slammed the door on kailash's face. "well it was worth a try." kailash thought bitterly as he threw the bouquet on the floor & walked off. after he had gone, the door opened slowly. deepa came out & took the bouquet in her hands. tears streamed down her soft cheeks as she looked at roses. deepa ached to run to kailash & throw her arms around him. but his betrayal & lies flashed before her eyes shattering her illusions to pieces. she sat the bouquet down on the side of the walkway & went into her house without another word.

kailash showed up the next day as well. he carried another bouquet of roses for deepa. deepa refused to meet him & even asked the security guard to throw him out. kailash's heart sank as he realised that it wouldn't be so easy for him to win back deepa. he received a call from ajay that very day. "I want to meet you. I've an urgent matter to discuss with you." he hung up abruptly. kailash met ajay at the beach. he was dressed impeccably in a black suit. despite the suffocating heat, ajay looked smug & sleek in his suit. "what did you want to see me about?" kailash enquired icily. "nothing much really. I'm having a company ball tomorrow. I want you to be the official photographer for the ball. you can bring along sweta if you want to but I'm bringing deepa. don't you try any dirty tricks on her tomorrow." ajay arrogantly stalked away & drove off, leaving kailash behind. hating ajay to the bone kailash hoped that the next day will bring in new hope for him. kailash decided to bring sweta to the ball as she would be lonely being all alone in the house.

on the nigh of the ball, sweta looked really sweet in a light blue dress with flowers that brought out the rich dark colour of her hair. kailash was dressed in a simple black suit. as they reached the party, sweta & kailash immediately felt left out. the party was filled with high society elites & snobby businessmen. they all gave kailash & sweta a once over & ignored them completely. luckily a few other people tittered politely with the two of them. ajay as usual arrived fashionably late with deepa on his arm. ajay was dressed in a white suit that gave him a underworld don look. "all he needed was a white bowler hat & he would be perfect!" kailash laughed inwardly.

deepa on the other hand looked ravishing. she was wearing a light brown dress. the straps rested lightly on her shoulders & her hair was done up into an elegant bun with some tendrils let down on. deepa looked very pretty yet there was no happiness in her pretty eyes. she looked so heartbreakingly beautiful that kailash wanted to reach out & hug her tightly. he had been staring at deepa so openly that sweta nudged him back to his senses. "even if you want to ogle at her, do it discreetly." she smiled at him knowingly. kailash blushed but continued to stare at deepa. ajay noticed kailash & sweta & came over. deepa's sad eyes hardened at the sight of kailash & sweta. "so she's the one." deepa thought to herself sadly though she kept her composure on the outside. deepa lifted her eyes to meet kailash's intense gaze & sank into the depths of his eyes. kailash realised that deepa missed him as much as he missed her. her eyes spoke volumes about her loneliness though she tried so hard to cover it up on the outside. ajay noticing deepa's & kailash's little interaction dragged deepa away even before kailash could speak to her. "I'll speak to her somehow." kailash determinedly planned. he had to clear some things up before the night was over.

CHAPTER 45

deepa was asked for a dance by ajay. he waltzed with her holding her waist gently. uncomfortable at his sudden closeness, deepa squirmed uncomfortably in ajay's embrace. "you are looking absolutely ravishing tonight." he told her huskily. deepa blushed & looked away. the waltz came to an end but ajay still didn't let her go. "excuse me." deepa untangled herself from ajay's embrace & slipped away to the restroom. "lord this girl is hard to please." ajay though to himself. he was soon mingling in the party forgetting about deepa completely. deepa emerged from the restroom 20 minutes later to find the ballroom in a totally jolly mood. drinks were being served limitlessly & everyone was high on champagne. ajay also looked red in the face & more than a little tipsy. he was dancing with an elderly woman, grinning away like a madman. "ohhh. he's had too much of alcohol hasn't he?" a voice beside deepa. she found sweta standing beside her with a glass of orange juice in her hand. deepa didn't reply but nodded stiffly. she was angry at sweta. sweta was innocent but she was the main cause of deepa's heartbreaking pain. "have you seen kailash anywhere?" sweta asked deepa innocently & deepa shook her head coldly.

"there you are sweta! I've been searching all over for you. you know I've been…" kailash faltered when he spotted deepa beside sweta. deepa looked ready to explode. her dark eyes flashed with annoyance & she looked away once kailash met her eyes. a young man interrupted breaking the uncomfortable silence. he wanted to dance with sweta & sweta happily obliged. she left deepa standing there with kailash. they both had their backs towards each other & stood in stony silence. a snazzy tango number blared out suddenly & everyone whooped with joy. ajay came over almost totally drunk & pulled deepa onto the dance floor roughly. he tried to tango with her but ended up stepping on her foot. having had enough for the night, deepa tried to slip away. alas ajay had an iron grip on her. "ajay, let me go." deepa requested softly. when ajay refused to release his hold on her deepa shouted at him but he couldn't hear anything in the extremely loud hall. suddenly kailash intervened. "mind if I steal deepa away for a dance?" he asked ajay & before ajay could reply, kailash had brought deepa away from him.

the tango number gained rhythm, everyone around deepa & kailash were dancing the night away. kailash pulled deepa to him into a hot embrace. she looked shocked as kailash spun her around & she fell into his arms. the intensity between them got hotter & the dance moves became sexier. kailash felt deepa's warm breath on his as their faces met. deepa looked hot, her elegant bun coming undone falling around her face gracefully. kailash pushed away a tendril of hair that was bothering her left eye. "you look extremely pretty tonight but why the sadness in these beautiful eyes?" kailash questioned her as he pulled her to him yet again. "it's none of your business but thanks for getting me out of ajay's hands." deepa sacarstically thanked him. kailash smiled at her indigance. she was still angry with him but she missed kailash deeply. her emotions confused kailash as well as herself. the upbeat tango number ended & kailash released deepa from his embrace. she stumbled for a moment but steadied herself. kailash was shocked to find that deepa was in tears.

"deepa.. are you alright?" concern flooded kailash's eyes as he saw the distraught look on deepa's face. she didn't speak a word but ran out of the ballroom. kailash followed her out & ran behind her. catching hold of her, kailash wiped away deepa's tears softly. "deepa.. why are you suffering for my mistake?" he asked her sadly. "I don't know kailash. I don't know why I'm suffering for your mistake. I really love you but I can't.. I can't forgive you.. my heart is broken because of all your lies & deceit." she sobbed uncontrollably. "ssshhh… deepa! don't cry. it breaks my heart to see you crying." kailash comforted deepa to his level best. deepa continued sobbing in the heartwrenching manner. kailash's words were cut short by someone. "miss deepa. ajay sir asked me to take you home." a man in a white uniform called out to deepa politely. deepa stopped sobbing slowly & nodded her agreement. "I've gotta go." she told kailash flatly & left.

Ha, me first again!😛I like the chapter but but a little disappointed at the abrupt ending. I had hoped that somehow Kailash would take her home. May in the next chapter something will happen on this track........ Keep going Leena, your flair for writing is to really amazing!
