here's chapteter 41 of my story.😃

CHAPTER 41

kailash felt the world pause for a moment. he couldn't believe that deepa had overheard his conversation with ajay. "deepa.. i.." kailash struggled to find the right words. he frankly was at a loss for words at that point. deepa was sobbing more loudly now, she looked like someone had told her she'd only have a few more hours to live. she didn't meet kailash's eyes, she couldn't. "let me explain." ajay interverned & motioned kailash to take a seat as well. "I got to know kailash a few years ago. he was a struggling photographer & I was developing some photographs at his shop. kailash had a beautiful girlfriend named sweta. they were so much in love but something went wrong in their relationship. kailash's feelings for sweta had fizzled out & sweta became more of a burden to him than a lover. sweta was suddenly diagnosed with a rare type of heart disease. it required her to travel to the US to seek treatment & it also needed loads of cash. cold hard cash. kailash wanted to leave sweta but he couldn't leave her in such a bad state. her parents didn't have the money to send her overseas so the responsibility fell on kailash. he came to me for help & I told him to do a very difficult & unkind job in return for the money I was going to loan him. I asked him to break your heart." ajay sighed tiredly.

"why?" was the only word deepa uttered as she stared straight at ajay. her eyes were puffy & sad but there was also a spark of anger in them. "because of my love for you deepa. I kept on refusing you but in fact I already started loving you. I didn't know how to express it. when I saw you giving up on me, my heart shattered. I made a plan that if a guy whom you loved so much broke your heart, you'll come running into my arms. it was really stupid of me to ask that of kailash but I was surprised when he agreed. he said that saving sweta was the most important thing then." he looked at kailash who had been extremely silent for some confirmation. kailash nodded stiffly. "so you guys just played with my feelings? no one even spared a thought of how I would feel if I came to know that my love, my trust everything had been a farce!!" deepa screamed suddenly. kailash & ajay winced at her harsh tone. everyone in the restaurant stared at her open mouthed. deepa looked mad, really mad. "ajay I might or might not forgive you but kailash? how could you do this to me? didn't you feel any sense of guilt when you were with me? all those loving words, those kisses & last night was all a farce?" she continued yelling. kailash tried to reply but deepa was already storming out of the restaurant.

"deepa.. deepa.. DEEPA!!! would you just listen to me?" kailash shouted angrily. he was irritated that deepa wasn't listening to him. he knew he was terribly wrong but he wanted deepa to listen to him. "okay you want me to listen to you? you've got 5 minutes." deepa spun around & glared at kailash. "okay I admit I was wrong. I must have have really hurt you but think of my situation. sweta could have died if I didn't provide her with the money for the treatment. deepa I love you. I really truly deeply love you. none of my loving words, embraces or kisses were fake. neither was last night. you are the woman I want to spend my life with. i'm sorry for all I did. I really am." he finished his explaination with a soft sad smile. "is that the best you can do? who else are you working for kailash? did someone else hire you to break my heart as well? that's why you're sprouting lovelorn dialogues!" deepa coldy replied. "deepa.." kailash came closer to her but she pushed him away roughly. "don't you DARE touch me kailash. don't you dare touch me. I don't ever want to see your face again. I've lost faith in the word 'Love'." deepa sobbed angrily. she spun around & walked away leaving behind a broken kailash.

deepa couldn't take the blow she had been dealt with. she felt numb. she had been so in love with kailash & yet his love turned out to a big fat lie. kailash had achieve his ambition. deepa's heart was now in a million smithereens. she would have never given him her heart if she'd known he was lying. feeling an immense hurt welling up in her, deepa slowly made her way back home. kailash sat at the park bench feeling a terrible emptiness within him. after deepa left him, his heart refused to feel anything anymore. kailash hadn't realised the extent of the mistake he had committed. now feeling the full after effects of his betrayal, a silent tear trickled down his cheek & fell onto the watch deepa had presented him with a few weeks ago.

this chapter was really sad cos i was feeling a little down when i wrote it.😭😭 hope you all liked it! comments & suggestions are welcome!😃

Me first this time. A wonderful episode with much feelings. In reading this chapter I feel Deepa's and Kailash's emotions. Kind of putting myself in Deepa's shoes, that would probably be my reactions too or even more drastic! I could have punched both the guys for playing with my emotions.

Kudos to you Leena in bringing out the emotions so well with the flow of the story.

CHAPTER 43

deepa didn't even realise how she got home. she had just wandered through crowded roads & pathways aimlessly till she reached her apartment. after she shut the door, deepa broke down completely. the pain, the hurt, the betrayal were all too much for her to bear. she refrained from breaking down in the middle of the road but now in the privacy of her own home, she wept terribly. deepa had been happily forming her own sweet world with kailash when she had to hear the bitter truth. she had seen many of her friends go through bad breakup. all those guys who dated them were outright jerks. "but I've been decived even more badly!" deepa thought & cried even harder. she didn't know if she could ever heal from those deep wounds. "it'll take me a lifetime to forget this." deepa sighed to herself sadly & fell onto her bed fully dressed. she had fainted into a deep slumber because of overwhelming shock.

kailash was still sitting on the bench he was sitting on a few hours ago. he was devoid of any emotions. kailash couldn't even crack a smile when a bunch of kids started a water bomb match down the beach. he recalled how much deepa used to love little kids and how much she used to love him too. now he could only see hatred & anger for him in deepa's eyes. the same eyes which looked at him with overflowing love now radiated pure hatred. kailash felt another longing tug from the bottom of his heart. how he missed deepa. she had only been gone for a dew hours & yet the emptiness he felt inside him looked as if it had been there for years. kailash sensed a slight movement to his left & he turned to find ajay standing there with a smug smile. "so she left eh? looks like my plan worked perfectly." he smiled widely at kailash. kailash was taken aback at his happiness. what did he mean? kailash didn't have to ponder too much as ajay took a seat beside him & explained. "don't you get it man? I was the one who called deepa over to the restaurant. I made her sit in the booth behind us so that she could hear our entire conversation. all is fair in love & war. I had to do that so that she will be mine eventually." ajay stated simply & walked off.

he could go mad. kailash could really go mad with all those happenings occurring around him. ajay was really a sly fox. he had played kailash out so easily & kailash didn't even smell a rat. kailash had blabbed & broken deepa's heart mercilessly but unknowingly. now all kailash wanted to do was to hug deepa & cry. he wanted to tell her how much he loved her & how she meant more than his life to him. kailash missed deep vert very badly & it was entirely his fault. actually kailash had been meaning to break that news to deepa in good time but sweta had come over unexpectedly & ruined things for kailash. "I wouldn't be surprised if ajay was behind sweta's sudden appearance either." he pondered wanting to punch ajay with all his might. he took out his cell & tried deepa's number for the millionth time. the ring kept on going but there was no answer. kailash had also sent her apologetic text messages but to no avail. deepa was mad at him & kailash doubted if anything else could ever soothe her hurting heart. he decided that if ajay double-crossed him, he would reciprocate the same way. kailash started on his jouney home, taking long swift strides. his confidence was back & kailash mentally started preparing himself for the next day. after all, he had one really angry lover to pacify.

deepa awoke the next day & yawned tiredly. she could barely open her eyes after all that crying she did last night. she stumbled out of bed & threw open the window. cheerful sunlight flooded the room. the morning was bright & sunny. something that was totally opposite to deepa's depressed state. she spotted someone standing at the foot of the apartment waving at her. to her immense surprise & anger it was kailash. he was smiling happily at her. deepa shut the window angrily wondering how much guts kailash must have had to come & see her after all happened yesterday. the doorbell clanged. deepa was sure it was kailash. her guess was right when she found kailash on her doorstep.
