No beauty is lost. You get to see the real face of it after the blossoms have fallen off the tree. That's why I would rather see the face of a beautiful woman than a pretty girl.Girls aren't beautiful, they're pretty. Beautiful is too heavy a word to assign to a girl. Women are beautiful because their faces show that they know, they have lost something and picked up something else.Henry Rollins, Smile, You're Traveling

Raman stood at the bus stop looking in the direction that jeeva took to reach the bus stop and he had been looking for nearly ten minutes with worry and anxiety. His thoughts were all about her parents reaction to the coat she had come home with and what questions they would have posed to her and what answers she might have given.

His mind trained with all manners of law and its sections was now frozen and it took all of his calm demeanour to compose and remain normal when his soul kept telling him to run to the end of the street and wait for her there,as it would save him all this agony and suspense.

All that disappeared the minute he saw her and with that glimpse all the tension vanished and as she got closer and closer to him,Raman for the very first time realised that he was truly, madly and deeply in love with her.

She wore a simple green cotton saree with a matching shade of blouse and yet he had never seen a more beautiful green than the colors that draped her and covered her body. His eyes missed nothing and they saw everything, from the way her saree lifted at the feet and revealed her dainty feet and a tantalising hint of the anklets that glittered silver.

She wore her tan colored hand bag on her right hand side and this allowed her left waist to freely wink at him and raman wished the whole world would vanish for a few minutes so that he could kiss the soft skin of her waist and place a kiss for each of her toes and as he stood gazing at her lost in her beauty, she looked at him and both looked at each other and it was as if their souls met and left their bodies and took off to a different realm while the world around them spun to a different beat.

He saw the carry bag and knew she was carrying his coat and he smiled and looked at the coat in envy.

Jeeva came up to him and offered the bag and raman felt a bit saddened to take it back and seeing him hesitate " It is the coat you forgot to take last night."

Raman took it and looked at her mischievously " Lucky coat.At least the coat had the good fortune of spending the night in your room."

Jeeva " i am sorry not in the room but in my arms and you were wearing it."

The rules of the game had changed and now with both pierced by the arrows of cupid, they realised that it would be dificult to carry on a normal and casual conversation as a normal guy and a normal woman and though they realised that it did not matter for they had fallen in love and love makes its own rules and changes it as it moves forward.

Raman looked at her " you look incredibly beautiful today.when i saw you,i felt as if the goddess in the temple that is nearby had left her stone roots and walked out to see and feel this world."

Jeeva was about to say something, when the bus that had stopped to pick up passengers began to moan and groan as the driver stepped on the accelerator and many of the students who were obviously going to parrys law college whistled loudly and one of the young students yelled " Ma'am,you look very beautiful today."

Raman and jeeva burst out laughing and many of the regulars too joined in and he felt his heart would break because her laughter was beautiful and without any hint or trace of sadness that lingered like a ghost in every movement of her body and words.

They stood staring at each other lost, drowned in their joy of finding each other and it was conductor chandran's voice that broke their magical spell " Ma'am,sir, please come.no time for my bus going point to point."

The privilege of entering the front of the bus was only given to them and they took their usual front seat behind the driver and both caught his eye with a smile and acknowledged his kind gesture.

" did my coat behave or did it cause any problems?" raman asked.

" No,there were no problems and no,the coat did not behave and refused to leave my side the whole night " she answered and raman blushed happily.

Jeeva looked at him " so is it going to be another busy day in the court for you."

Raman looked at her and only then realised that he had no case needing his appearance and began to smile " No case but nothing is more important for me than these moments besides you.I don't mind spending the whole day in this bus if it means being next to you breathing the same air that you breathe."

She looked at him and then reached for his hand and taking it clasped it tightly and raman thought he would die in pleasure for it was as if his heart had just slipped into top gear for it sped and beat furiously.

He looked at her " Thank you jeeva for accepting me and accepting my love."

Hurt filled her eyes " Please don't ever say that.Today morning when i woke up with your coat next to me,i realised how beautiful life was and that i had been living in some kind of confinement that was my own doing.I am grateful that you have brought light into my life and made me feel alive again."

The jasmine flowers on her head filled his senses with a heady fragrance and he remembered that she hardly wore flowers and jeeva catching the direction of his eyes remembered her mother.

Just as jeeva was about to leave the house, her mother kamakshi had stopped her and lovingly placed the flowers into her hair and jeeva had protested " But amma, those flowers are for your daily pooja " and kamakshi had looked at her " Sweetheart, you are my goddess and we look up to you and worship you for you are the one who guards us and protects us with her hard work and sacrifice. These flowers have found their place.Dont worry for from tomorrow i will ask the lady to bring extra flowers for the pooja."

Raman's mobile rang and it was from the office and he was informed that the boss wanted to meet him at 10.00 am in his cabin.Raman looked at the phone " The boss wants to meet me and i wonder why."

" is everything okay raman" jeeva asked for she saw his face and the questions in it.

Raman placing the mobile back in his shirt pocket " No problem.just some office work."

" You know jeeva,i think i like the natural smell of your hair better than the aroma of these jasmine flowers."

jeeva with a smile " Pengalin koonthalukku iyarkayile manam ullatha allathu " and raman remembering how a couple of days earlier he had for an instant buried his face in her head as she fell on him " I am sorry for i agree with shiavji and i mean the lord shiva when he says that a woman has a natural fragrance in her hair."

Her fingers tightened around his and all she wanted to do,was kiss his lips and bury herself in his arms and not be parted from him for even a second.

What if-The return 8

DIG Arivuselvam entered the room of Inspector Prakasam and politely refused the chair behind the desk where he sat and ran the police station and instead sat comfortably in one of the gaudy plastic chairs facing the inspector which at one had been red but was now slowly aging a faded pink and the legs showed signs of giving way at any moment and Arivuselvam could not miss the comparision of the chair with the Inspector who sat with his gut hanging out and out of breath for having run a few meters to the entrance and back.

Arivuselvam placed his rayban coolers and his Iphone on the table and looking at the Inspector " Prakasam, does that name end with reddiyar or naidu."

" Naidu sir.But i was born and brought up in madurai and have been posted in and around madurai and dindugul throughout my career and hopefully i will retire in a few years after service in kodai sir."

Arivuselvam nodded and then looked at the him " Inspector, can i see the FIR copy for the complaint given about the missing priest. And please, bring me the entire file with the complaint."

Inspector Prakasam naidu hesitated and soon sweat sprouted like buds on his forehead and soon they filled his face like pock marks and swallowing spit that was not there for his throat had gone dry and the tremors that were now a part of his body from excessive drinking shook and tremmbled under the scorching glare of DIg Arivuselvam.

" So let me understand this.A priest has been missing from yesterday morning and that very evening, fellow priests have lodged a complaint with a hand written letter and yet you have not given them an FIR copy. Please, could you tell me why it was not given."

Inspector Prakasam hung his head in shame and then mumbled " I thought he would come back.we thought he might be around somewhere and well we wanted to give it time."

Arivuselvam accepting the answer " Okay, has he come back. And please tell me how you have gone ahead with the search and how many have you deputed for the search and investigation into this case?"

Inspector Prakasam " Sir,actually i was not well sir and came back to duty only today morning. No problem sir,i will find the priest quickly and i will come personally and report to you."

DIG arivuselvam leaned back in the chair that protested with a squeak but also showed its happiness for having to bear his lean weight rather than the fat butts that sat there day in and day out.

Steepling his fingers,he stared daggers at the inspector and then in a loud and deep voice yelled " Sub inspector muthuselvam, please come inside."

The poor man who had been sweating bullets standing outside ran hurriedly into the room and saluting stiffly looked at his new boss.

" Muthuselvam,i am going to ask you a few questions and i want honest answers to them. Please remember that your career hangs in balance here and so you better think before you answer them wrongly or try to lie your way out of it."

Sub inspector muthuselvam knew that the three masala vadais and two plates of pongal had been the wrong choice for his stomach churned uncomfortably in fear and in protest at the overload of carbs and fried items that was the staple food of both the inspector and sub inspector.

He looked at Inspector prakasam naidu and then at DIG arivuselvam and he felt it was a choice between the frying pan and the fire and mumbled " okay sir."

" Muthuselvam, were you the ranking officer in this station when the priests came to register a complaint about their missing father john."

" yes sir.I was in the station and i was just about to leave home when they came and i took their complaint." replied the sub inspector.

Arivuselvam nodded " Why wasn't an FIR copy given to them and where was the Inspector at that moment."

Muthuselvam was stuck for an answer for he did not expect this question and not even in his wildest dreams had he imagined he would be standing here answering his superior officer.

DIG arivuselvams mobile rang and whispering " Excuse me gentlemen" he answered the phone and Loganathan gave him the entire details about the inspector and his daily activities.

Returning the mobile back to its place on the table,Arivuselvam clasped both his hands and waited for an answer and the answer came " Sir,there was some small problem in a bar in the lake area and so the inspector went to check it out personally."

" So he went out to check a law and order problem, okay.so what time did he return back to the station and who were the constables who went with him to help with the law and order situation."

Sub inspector Muthuselvam hung his head in shame for he knew he was cornered and remained silent.

Dig arivuselvam stood up and went to the window and looked down at the steep fall behind the police station and enjoying the sight for a few moments, turned back " You just lied to a superior officer and that means a memo and it also means i can suspend you right now and send you home and i doubt if you will come back to finish your service."

Sub inspector muthuselvam with fear and a pleading voice " Sir,please forgive me sir,but the truth is i have no clue as to where the inspector was at that moment."

" so you lied about the prakasam going out to handle some law and order near the lake and now you are lying again for you know very well where he was.let me tell you where he was.He was busy getting drunk at 7.00 pm in the nearby silver oaks bar and it is the same place he drinks everyday and gets drunk everyday and sometimes even sleeps over in one of the rooms there which is sadly reserved for their employees."

Both Inspector and Sub inspector knew they had been caught out with their lies and it was prakasam who squeaked first " sir,i confess it is my fault. Please don't blame muthuselvam for this mistake.he actually tried calling me about the missing priest and i was too drunk to give a proper reply and i apologise for that. But i promise you that i will look into the case and solve this as soon as possible."

DIG Arivuselvam stood up " Okay,we will talk about this later after we have found out what has happened to the missing priest for now finding him is my top priority."

Looking at prakasam " you stay right here for SI muthuselavm will do for this initial steps" and arivuselvam walked quickly out of the station and got into his vehicle.signalling to the SI to get in,Arivuselvam looked at loganathan with a sad smile " These people will never learn."

The mahindra scorpio left the police station and headed towards the church of saint don bosco and towards the first place from where DIG Arivuselvam would start tracking the movements of the missing priest father john.

My heart always seemed to miss a beat
everywhere and nowhere walked my feet
now with you in it my heart pumps a different beat
now in your direction walk my feet
all the cold and all the heat
seems like a sufferable treat when we meet
and i just want to sit next to you
see you laugh and drown in your joy
with your hand in my hand
i will walk over all badlands and sadlands
and it will only feel like the soft beach sands
i am in love with you and i love
that you are in love with me
i breathe better, the water and food taste better
my eyes see more clearly
my ears hear every whisper of your soul
i am better now and i am now complete
for i am loved by you
and i am so in love with you

a love song for jeeva and raman

Both got down at the stop opposite the high court and she looked at him " you are going back to the office, right?"

" yes,the boss wants to see me and that is an appointment that we staff never miss.Never ever." replied raman.

Looking at the question in her eyes " But i am going to be back here, right here waiting for you,if that is okay."

Jeeva blushed and nodded " Yes.But you have to go back now and come back again.Isn't it too much of a trouble to be travelling so much."

Raman smiled in love " Honestly,it is being alone that is trouble and if it means just to sit next to you,i dont mind travelling any lengths to anywhere.I don't mind spending the rest of my life inside this bus if it means being besides you, seeing you smile, hearing your voice and maybe just to feel the softness of your mouth."

All kinds of thoughts ran through her head and the same ran through his and she looked up with concern " Raman, are we going too fast with our feelings for each other.Sometimes i panic so much and my body just trembles in fear of losing you and that feeling is bloody miserable."

" Jeeva, maybe someday when you are ready to talk about what hurt you or who hurt you,you can but that time is gone and it is in the past.I am here, right here and right now in the present and i swear to you that i will never, ever do or say anything to hurt you and i would rather die before that. So,let go of your fear and just take it easy and one step at a time."

Seeing her lips forming a bewitching smile " Jeeva, all i want is for you to be happy and smile this lovely smile you just gave me.I am not asking for anything more and one more thing,i don't know what or how todays lovers do or thing but i am old fashioned and want to be married before, you know, well you know what i am saying right."

Jeeva grasped his hand softly " I am not worried about all that and i know i am being irrational with my fears about love and yet.But it doesn't matter now and we will talk later for i know you have to be at your law firm. So,go on and we will meet up in the evening."

Raman stood watching her go and after a few moments she turned back and waving with a smile, pleaded for him to carry on with his day's work.

Nodding okay,he looked at his titan watch and told himself that it was time to replace the glass on the watch for the two scratches seemed to have given birth to two more baby scratches.Raising his hand he halted an autorickshaw and getting in told the driver to go to Pantheon road,Egmore.

Rangachari and associates stood as a lone and unique beacon that reminded those above the age of 50 and more as to how buildings looked 40 years ago and stood as an eye sore to all those below 30 years of age.

It stood on two grounds of prime Egmore real estate and stood proudly and boldly declaring to the world that not everyone and everything is up for sale,no matter what the price is and the price for that parcel of land owned by Rangachari and associates was worth 20 to 30 crores depending on who wanted to buy it.

But the property belonged to Bull dog krishnaswamy iyer, grandson of the late rangachari and as the name suggested and was common knowledge, once a case was taken over by this firm it meant only one outcome, victory or out of court settlement. The law firm of Rangachari and associates had stopped taking up criminal cases but they made much more through the cases involving commerce and economy and those numbers ran into crores of rupees.

The building of rangachari and associates housed the office below and also the residence of their boss mr.krishnaswamy iyer. The residence was actually built about ten years ago after mrs.shanta krishnaswamy passed away to breast cancer and the bull dog found it harder and harder to be in live in the place that constantly reminded him of his late wife who had meant the world to him.

He had begun to spend more and more time in his cabin, nursing many glasses of expensive scotch after work and then sleeping it off on the couch that sadly soon became his bed, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then, his only son who was about to fly off to new york to work with citibank suggested that he build over the office and make his residence there.

Mr.krishnaswamy iyer had a daughter who had inherited all of his wisdom, his short temper and more importantly his razor sharp and clinical brain.Rohini iyer was the eldest but was now a divorcee and shuttled between mumbai and chennai, between her consultancy firm there and between her dad here.

Exactly at 10.00 a.m Raman knocked on the door and entered the domain of his boss mr.krishnaswamy iyer and was surprised to see his daughter seated there with him and as was his character, raman hid his surprise and thoughts and greeted them both with a pleasant good morning.

Mr.Krishnaswamy Iyer had stood 6 feet but age and the loss of his wife had hunched him over or had stepped on his back as life always does, putting one foot or trampling down with both feet to remind us that life and death always win and are the only two consequences that matter, really matter and all the name, fame and games are ash and dust that float away the minute your reckoning date arrives.

Dressed in his usual expensive cotton shirt that screamed it was priced above 3 or 4 thousand rupees and grey pants tailored to perfection by master craftsmen and tailors from syed bawkher & co,Mr.krishnaswamy looked more like a gentleman who headed a multinational company rather than an advocate whose skull sheathed a brilliant brain.

" Good morning raman, please sit down" said krishnaswamy iyer and raman seating himself nodded to rohini who he had had met a few times, but very briefly and had spoken even fewer words and she granted him a gentle smile.

Rohini iyer must have been in her mid or late thirties and was a mother to a teenage daughter and yet she looked like she was in her late twenties and dressed in an expensive pastel shade cotton kurta and a white bottom but then the whole dress combination was given a twist by the stole that was casually draped around her neck and the only jewellery that adorned her was the expensive looking watch on her right wrist,no not the usual place of left wrist.

Rohini stood up " Appa,i will leave you both to your cases and i will come back later.I have some work to catch with and people to meet later in the afternoon. But until then i will be in my room."

Krishnamswamy iyer " No baby, stay for i think this case might be of some interest to you and we might want to hear your take on this after raman finishes explaining the details."

" Go ahead raman" he said and then leaned back comfortably in his plush leather clad chair and looked intently at his junior.

The minute she stepped into her office, the aura of love that emanated from her soul seemed to bring a ray of new light and spark into all her staff members and everybody stared as Jeeva walked with the sun in her, rather with the love of raman burning in her.

But then isn't that we who are and how we exist for it is those that we love and care for that make up our soul and motivate us to live and exist with their energy even when we can't go on any longer.

Soul transplant i think are the right words.Heart transplant, kidney transplant aside, when someone loves us really and truly, they reach in from their purity and place a part of their soul into us and light up a new power source and reactor. They give themselves away without a thought and this pure and true love makes us shine and lets the whole world know that we are special to someone and are wanted and cherished by someone.

Jeeva entered her cabin and looked out of the window and smiled " I love you raman.I love you with every inch of my body."

One day the sun will die,its purpose finished and one day we too will die and hopefully with our purpose done and carried out and that is to give love,to give hope and to let people know that you are there for them.Come, live, love and go.For in the end that is all you and i can do.

What if-The return 9

"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."? Mahatma Gandhi

Inspector Loganathan glanced at his boss DIG Arivuselvam " Sir,what are you going to do about that fat and corrupt inspector Prakasam naidu."

" What can we do loganathan but ask him to take VRS and go live his life with the fat package and pension that the government will gift him.But you know what he will do and that is get a plum paying job in some private security firm and will get fatter and fatter until one day his heart will give out,but not before he has broken and ruined many innocent lives with his corruption and greed."

Inspector loganathan gave a sinister smile " Better we take him for one of our night operations and arrange for him to get killed by some unknown criminals."

DIG Arivuselvam " It does not solve the problem because then he will be considered a martyr,a hero for many and probably will have his statue erected in his community street and his legacy will live on long after we both are dead and gone. No,although i did want to put a bullet through his fat and gross tummy."

Both laughed with their shared private joke and Arivuselvam whispered " You know loganathan, christ is just one figurehead but there are nearly 20,000 different forms of sects and churches that survive in the name of jesus."

Inspector loganathan " sir, surely you must be joking. Here i thought that hinduism was the most confusing with all the gods and godesss and you are telling me that christianity is even more mind bogglingly confusing."

" Loganathan,Hinduism is actually not the term to use to describe our way of woship and our religious practices. The word Hindu is very much misunderstood and misused. Many people have no idea how the word originated. In India, some politicians use the the words Hindu and Hindutva with communal overtones either to promote or oppose some ideology or party. To the rest of the world, Hindu and Hinduism refer to a set of people belonging to definite religious system. The fact is that the both the words "Hindu" and "India" have foreign origin. The word "Hindu" is neither a Sanskrit word nor is this word found in any of the native dialects and languages of India. It should be noted that "Hindu" is not a religious word at all. There is no reference of the word "hindu" in the Ancient Vedic Scriptures.

It is said that the Persians used to refer to the Indus river as Sindhu. Indus is a major river which flows partly in India and partly in Pakistan. However, the Persians could not pronounce the letter "S" correctly in their native tongue and mispronounced it as "H." Thus, for the ancient Persians, the word "Sindhu" became "Hindu." The ancient Persian Cuneiform inscriptions and the Zend Avesta refer to the word "Hindu" as a geographic name rather than a religious name. When the Persian King Darious 1 extended his empire up to the borders of the Indian subcontinent in 517 BC, some people of the Indian subcontinent became part of his empire and army. Thus for a very long time the ancient Persians referred to these people as "Hindus". The ancient Greeks and Armenians followed the same pronunciation, and thus, gradually the name stuck.

The word "India" also has a similar foreign origin. Originally, the native Indians used to address the Indian subcontinent as "Bharat". As a matter of fact in Mahabharat, which is one of the two "Itihasa", we find reference of the word "Bharat". As per legend, the land ruled by the great King "Bharata" was called Bharat.
The ancient Greeks used to mispronounce the river Sindhu as Indos. When Alexander invaded India, the Macedonian army referred to the river as Indus and the land east of the river as India. The Greek writers who wrote about Alexander preferred to use the same name. For the Arabs the land became Al-Hind. The Muslim rulers and travelers who came to India during the medieval period referred the Indian subcontinent as "Hindustan" and the people who lived there as Hindus. Thus, if we go by the original definition of the word Hindu, any person living in the land beyond the river Indus is a Hindu and whatever religion he or she practices is Hinduism, the word Hindu is a secular word. Hinduism denotes any religion or religions that are practiced by the people living in the Indian subcontinent.

The proper word to use for those people who follow the Scriptures of The Vedas is "Sanatana Dharma", not "Hinduism" as is commonly used."

Inspector Loganathan gently halted the vehicle outside the large and imposing metal gates that marked the entrance of the church of saint don bosco and both waited patiently as an elderly man but still retaining his poise and posture of bygone police constable days briskly walked towards them and to the drivers side.

A few people stood outside the gates, sipping tea and smoking and all of them raced towards the police vehicle and then DIG Arivuselvam removed his glass and growled " Please be patient and maybe i will try to answer your questions on way out.So kindly step away and go back doing what it is you were doing and let us do what we have come to do.'

The security guard looked at Inspector loganathan " Sir,very sorry but entrance has been restricted to only those with official purpose and i have been given strict warnings not to allow anybody with the proper authority or written instructions. So,may i know the purpose of your visit."

Inspector loganathan was about to say something nasty and vulgar but his boss DIG Arivuselvam gently restrained him by tapping the hand that was holding the gear lever " please remain calm."

But before both could say anything, one of the journalists screamed loudly " Dig Arivuselvam sir,is it true that a big politician is soon going to be nabbed for smuggling sandalwood and ivory. Can you please confirm sir."

The moment the former constable but now a security guard in the service of the church heard the name, his face trembled in fear and confusion and without even being aware of his body doing it,he rammed his feet together and whacked a perfect salute and then ran towards the gate and quickly opened it and stood near the gate with the salute and eyes forward in total respect.

Dig Arivuselvam nodded his acknowledgement of the mans respect and then whispered to Inspector loganathan " Loganathan, that man will be of vital importance to this investigation and so when i am inside, talk to him and get his number and tell him that i might call him in regards of this case.okay."

The church of saint don bosco was built nearly 80 years ago when kodaikanal was a very different place and maybe the world itself was a less populated place, greener and more beautiful than how ravaged it is right now.

The path from the main gate to the church was nearly a km long and the route a scenic one and Arivuselvam looked at loganathan " You know,i don't mind converting to christianity just for the sake of being buried in such a beautiful spot.Imagine, the green, the songs of birds and the cool climate permanently yours and all one has to do its lie still inside the coffin."

Inspector loganathan shivered in fear " sir,i don't know about you but i am claustrophobic and am scared of cramped spaces and cannot for one moment imagine myself being buried in a box and lowered into the ground. What if i should wake up alive and still kicking and screaming.?"

DIG Arivuselvam looked at his subordinate " Claustrophobia, should remember that one next time we are out on a surveillance mission."

Loganathan brought the mahindra scorpio to a soft halt outside the steps that led up to the church and DIG Arivuselvam got out noting that a few priests stood waiting for his arrival having already been informed by the security guard.

"Sometimes you want to say, "I love you, but...

Yet the "but takes away the I love you'. In love there are no buts' or if's' or when'. It's just there, and always. No beginning, no end. It's the condition-less state of the heart. Not a feeling that comes and goes at the whim of the emotions. It is there in our heart, a part of our heart...eventually grafting itself into each limb and cell of our bodies. Love changes our brain, the way we move and talk. Love lives in our spirit and graces us with its presence each day, until death. I say this to you now: I love you, with no beginning, no end. I love you as you have become an extra necessary organ in my body. Without fear. Without expectations. Wanting nothing in return, except that you allow me to keep you here in my heart, that I may always know your strength, your eyes, and your spirit that gave me freedom and let me fly. ? Coco J. Ginger

Raman looked at both his boss and his daughter Rohini " sir, the person who is behind this case bears the same name as yours, krishnaswamy and yet there is a vast gulf in both your characters."

" I think i have met the owner of unicorn steel a few times and he comes across as a pretty decent man. So, why this opinion of him,Raman."

Raman " sir, this case is not about a bounced cheque or anything even remotely involved with money and it is just about vengeance and hatred."

Raman's boss krishnaswamy iyer looked at him " Go on please."

Raman slowly and methodically laid out the case and then looking at both of them " So, now because his son Gurumurthy is in love with our clients daughter Jamila, he is going hammer and tongs at his family too and has petitioned that they be brought to court as witnesses and he is doing it just to inflict pain and maximum humiliation."

Krishnaswamy iyer looked at rohini with a hint of sarcasm in his smile and a lot of it in his voice " Maybe i should have behaved the same way when you came to me declaring your love and intentions of marrying that ex-husband of yours and then maybe i could have saved you a lot of grief and pain."

Rohini's face tightened and raman for a second saw the same steel that filled his boss flare in his daughters eyes but she calmed down and defended herself with an even more subtle but sarcastic attack " Appa, you are not god although you think you are.And hence you could not have known that your ex son-in-law was going to a bad choice."

Mr.krishnaswamy iyer looked at raman " See, this is why i keep insisting that she settle in chennai and take over this firm for she is ready and has been for quite some time.

But coming back to our case, what do you want to do raman?"

Raman " I will go ahead and deal with this case sir, but I need your permission to fight this case on criminal grounds too."

Krishnaswamy iyer, who had been slouched in comfort of the leather chair, leaned forward and placed his hands on the desk and without any hint of his thoughts showing on his face " Raman, you know that this company has not handled a criminal case in a very long time. So, you better have a good reason for this direction of yours."

Raman, very coolly " Sir, mr.Anwaruddin has been our client for nearly 25 years and i think it is our duty to not only protect his money but also him and his family and his status in this society. He is going against palanivel, who is a crook at best but the best in the business and by the time he is finished our client will be crushed to dust and his name ruined beyond repair. But I think i can handle him and all i am asking is a one off chance to take this to a criminal court and show this palanivel that it is not only he but that others too can play this game but we desist from doing so for the sake of law and simply because we respect the rules of the game."

Krishnaswamy iyer sat quietly and then got up and went stood near the window looking out at the world below and around him and without turning to raman, Can you briefly tell me how you are going to go about this in the criminal court."

" Simple sir.eye for an eye and name for name. I am going to file a case of deliberate defamation against the owner of unicorn steel and i will take it from there. Of course, it is going to take time and a bit of hard work, but it will be worth it sir."

Krishnaswamy iyer, owner of rangachari and associates slowly walked back and stood next to raman and looked down at him " But why raman, win it in the civil court and let it be. why take it to the next level and why get down and dirty ourselves with these scum."

" Sir, we need to show that the law cannot be purchased by the rich and the mighty but that it is also for the poor and those who really need it.This could be a precedent to future cases and by winning it we only are setting an example that people cannot get away by bullying those of timid nature and that are too weak to fight."

Looking at both of them " Sir, money and wealth can be made easily but a good reputation and a good standing in this society can be earned only through hard work and years of service and to let that go and stand and do nothing is i think pretty bad character and worse there will be no difference between people like palanivel, who bend and twist the loopholes in law and us who stand and did nothing, when in reality we could have done something and saved the situation.

The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing is a very famous quote by Edmund burke and i think it explains everything that is in my heart."

Krishnaswamy iyer smiled to himself for he realised that the spirit of his grandfather was alive and that his legacy was burning brightly in his office. Seating himself in his chair, he looked at raman " Okay, hand over all the other cases that you are dealing as of now and concentrate on mr.anwaruddin's case and also this defamation case against the owner of unicorn steel and please keep me updated on any developments. Thank you."

Raman stood up " Thank you sir. I will do you proud. Thank you for believing in me and allowing me leeway and freedom to take up a criminal case."

Raman turned to rohini " Ma'am, it is good to see you again."

Rohini stood up and offering a handshake " Please call me rohini, raman.I wish you the best and success in this case."

Krishnaswamy watched and listened as the door to his cabin shut itself and turned to his daughter " Girl, raman is a very innocent and a kind person. Please no tricks here for i am grooming him for bigger things and i don't want them to be complicated by my daughter. And moreover he is a few years younger than you."

Rohini " God, you are such a timid and anxious person. Here is your single daughter who thinks a man is eligible and will make good husband and you have to go protecting him. Relax dad, he is a good looking guy and a very honourable man but a bit too conservative for me. And even if i do make a move on him, I doubt if he would cross the barrier for he has too much respect for you and his position here."

But rohini was the same as her dad and had the same steel that her great grandfather rangachari had and she was not a person who was easily dissuaded from something once she had set her mind on it.

Raman poured himself a cup of coffee from the flask and then called Jeeva " Listen, i know this is a bit sudden but can we meet up and have dinner before we go home."

Jeeva whispered yes and raman thanked her and after sitting for a few minutes, then dived into the life and finances of his client Anwaruddin.

maybe just with our hands
maybe with just our lips
maybe with just our hips
maybe in just an embrace
but I want to be connected with you
and I want us both to be connected
just as a mother and child are in the womb
i want to exist as one for two and being separated
is pain, is grief and feels scary
how can i take my lips away from yours
how can i take this heart away from yours
when it beats to your beat and
breathes just to give air for you
being in love is a solitude
and confined in one is two

What if-The return 10

DIG Arivuselvam got out of his vehicle and looked up the flight of stairs numbering fifteen and took in the three who stood dressed in their white Albs, knotted with black cinctures and around their necks hung christ the redeemer in his final act of crucifixation, looking up at the sky and at the heavens above pleading with God,the almighty to forgive those that had crucified him for they knew not that they sinned.

Arivuselvam looked up at the clear, blue skies and his soul whispered " father,be my guide and help me sort this case quickly."

He recollected the final scene from the film " The passion of christ, when jesus who is about to die and ascend looks up to the heavens and whispers " Elahi,Elahi" and as always,a wave of energy passed over his body and to this day,DIG Arivuselvam did not or could not understand why those words from that scene felt thus on his soul.
He always knew in his soul that there was something to the character of christ and yet what had followed after his death and what had taken shape in the name of religion was not the same as what probably jesus himself would have wanted

Then the priest who stood tall adjoined by sister catherine on his right and father ruven on his left spoke " DIG Arivuselvam,i welcome you in the name of christ and of the saint don bosco. Please come and enter with christ in your soul."

Arivuselvam smiled and looked up and walked up the stairs and stood before the priest who had so welcomed him and who now shook his hand " DIG Arivuselavam, born april 28th 1981 in chennai.parents deceased, grew up with his grandparents and only the grandfather now remains.Finished school education in Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan,Egmore and then did his BSc Economics in loyola college and sat for his Civil Service Examination and passed with flying colors and then went on to finish his IPS training in Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National police academy,Hyderabad and was posted as Assistant Superintentendent of Police in mumbai city.Your achievements there and in the naxalite filled orissa border brought you rapid promotions and today you are the youngest DIG in the history of the Indian police service."

DIG Arivuselvam smiled and did a mock bow " wow, father.Honestly, hearing about me from you makes me feel rather vain and proud of myself. But frankly speaking,i was just doing my job and importantly with the help of my fellow officers and policemen."

Both stood looking at each other and then both their hands gripped and in that second Arivuselvam knew that the father was strong not only in his faith but in his body too.

" I am father James gunaseelan.Welcome Mr.Arivuselvam and i give you and your family the blessings of our lord, jesus christ."

Arivuselavm smiled " Thank you father james and i am really sorry that i have to enter these hallowed grounds in regards of a missing priest. But i assure you that i will solve this as quickly as possible and leave without bringing too much attention to the church or to you."

" Thank you Mr.arivuselvam " said father james gunaseelan and then turned and looked at his other companions " sister catherine and father ruven, please go ahead with the daily work and i will soon be there to join you for the afternoon mass.I have a few things to discuss with mr.arivuselvam here and once i am finished,i will join you in the church."

Father james looked at Arivuselvam " My office is right here.We can sit there and talk a few things about this rather frustrating matter of the missing father john."

Both priest and policemen sat down and stared at each other, one an officer of the law and the other an officer of god.One who sent criminals to jail and one who gave last rites to a soul who was either going to hell and heaven.

DIG Arivuselvam looked at father james gunaseelan " Gnana muthuvel gunaseelan, born 1960,tirunelveli district to parents kumaraguru and selvi.Govt school education, stood first in the district board exams, finished his law education in tirunelveli law college and won the gold medal in the final year. But then rather than taking up and practicing law did a u-turn and went in the service of the church and is now whispered to be on his way in becoming the next archbishop of madurai and dindugul district."

Father james whispered " Bravo, bravo mr.arivuselavm but if i may,why didn't you say the same out there as a rejoinder?"

Arivuselvam shook his head " No father,i am your guest here and under your care and moreover i am not one for a rejoinder or repartee."

" yet, here we are with your rejoinder out in the open and what does it mean or what purpose has it served."

DIG Arivuselvam stood up " It means that i am here to do my job and will do it and that i am pretty good at it and most importantly it means that even god should not stand in my way of finding out the truth behind this missing priest."

Father james gunaseelan was about to press the bell to call for someone to show arivuselavm to father johns quarters when arivuselavm looked at him " What was it that you saw out in the forest that day which eventually led you to turning away from education and work and into the path of christ and christianity. Both your parents put their foot down when their only son a hindu was going to get converted and yet you followed your heart and here you are in the church with decades of great service to christ and to the church."

Father james gunaseelan looked away and faced the last rays of the morning light before it rose to denote midday and overhead and spoke softly " It is not what i saw but rather what i felt.I felt an immense happiness,a calling and it was at the grave site of some unknown person but who had a cross as a headstone.I ran every morning as a routine from 4.30 to 5.30 and it was at that time that i had the particular vision which eventually led me to christ."

Man of law and man of god stood staring at each other and exchanged smiles and respect and then father james gunaseelan with pleading eyes" Arivu, please treat it as a personal request and be careful not to bring any disrespect to this church with your pursuit of the truth.I say this for sometimes one persons wrongs can fell a multitude of rights and good work. So,i humbly reuuest you to tread softly and co-ordinate with the church in all your dealing and findings."

DIG Arivuselvam " I will keep that in mind father.I will do my best but in the end the law takes precedence over everything. But i give you my word that i will handle this case as delicately as possible."

Father james gunaseelan stood and with his fingers drew the cross " Go in peace and with the blessings of christ my son.May the lord be your guide and may his mercy fill your soul."

Nearly twenty kms away,in the thick and dense forest just outside the town of kodiakanal, birdwatchers couple of sanjay and meera recoiled in horror as the foul smell of decomposition hit their noses and both gasped at the stench of it.

Wondering what animal could give off such a stink, they followed the smell and looked around to find nothing. Then hearing tearing and pecking noises, they both looked up and there high in the branches hung something that even now still held semblance of its human form.

Sanjay and meera stood looking up at the horrific sight of a man being torn and eaten by the crows and then he quickly called the police station and reported that there was body hanging in the branches, nearly thirty to forty feet above ground. But he also quickly took photos of the scene and by the time the news reached DIG Arivuselvam, the pics went viral on facebook, youtube, whatsapp and twitter.

For many like father james and arivuselvam who were directly involved in the case, the answer to the question of how the missing father was finally found dead on top of a tree would be known in time. But the outside world would never know what happened or how it happened or how it was even possible for the missing father to be on top of the trees.

But the story begins here with the opening of pandoras box and all hell and mayhem would be unleashed for soon a man of uniform would stand shoulder to shoulder with a ghost and hunt for the truth,a deep, dark truth that had lain in hiding for many years.

An unbeliever would turn believer and all questions and all cries for help would be turned towards the skies where Elahi makes, hopefully makes his abode.

Elahi is Aramaic and means "My God"

ALB-The alb is a long, white garment, which flows from shoulders to ankles, and has long sleeves extending to the wrists and the common dress of all priests. The alb was a common outer garment worn in the Graeco-Roman world and would be similar to the soutane worn in the Middle East. However, those of authority wore albs of higher quality with some kind of embroidery or design. Some modern style albs have collars which preclude the necessity for an amice. The spiritual purpose reminds the priest of his baptism, when he was clothed in white to signify his freedom from sin, purity of new life, and Christian dignity. Moreover, the Book of Revelation describes the saints who stand around the altar of the Lamb in Heaven as "These are the ones who have survived the great period of trial; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb (7:14). In the same way, the priest must offer the Mass with purity of body and soul, and with the dignity befitting Christ's priesthood. The former vesting prayer was "Make me white, O Lord, and purify my heart so that being made white in the Blood of the Lamb, I may deserve an eternal reward.

Cinctures-The cincture is a long, thick cord with tassels at the ends which secures the alb around the waist. It may be white or may be the same liturgical color as the other vestments. In the Graeco-Roman world, the cincture was like a belt. Spiritually, the cincture reminds the priest of the admonition of St. Peter: "So gird the loins of your understanding; live soberly; set all your hope on the gift to be conferred on you when Jesus Christ appears. As obedient sons, do not yield to the desires that once shaped you in you ignorance. Rather, become holy yourselves in every aspect of your conduct, after the likeness of the holy One who called you (I Peter 1:13-15). The former vesting prayer was "Gird me, O Lord, with the cincture of purity and extinguish in my heart the fire of concupiscence so that, the virtue of continence and chastity always abiding in my heart, I may better serve Thee.

Dangal-Made in India

Dangal, was delivered on 23 dec,2016 and its birth announced to the indian public although it had been already delivered in the united states on dec 21st.Well,words such as birth, delivery can be safely used for a film for like a baby,it too has its gestation period in not one womb but multiple wombs of the producer, director, actors and so many, many more.

With aamir khan as one of the parents,it could be safely said that the film was of royal blood and soon ascended, breaking many records and took its place among the top of the heap called box-office collection. Then,Bahubali 2 happened and took the country by storm and also pockets of the world and raced to a gigantic and previously unheard collection figure of 1500 crores.

But Dangal then did something unheard of and was delivered in China and it beat hollywoods latest mass and action film Guardians of the galaxy part two and has now collected more than 800 crores and is still going strong.

I have watched dangal three times and will do many more times and watched bahubali 2 once and that was enough for it gave me a splitting headache.Bahubali 1 was just okay and time pass at best.

For all those who become patriotic and beat their chests,i humbly confess that though bahubali 1 and 2 appear to be good, they fall short of films in terms of graphics that released a decade ago, such as lord of the rings and Avatar

All those choreographed scenes,i have seen in house of flying daggers, crouching tiger and hidden dragon and the two towers.I saw the film and liked it for the performances of ramya krishnan and that guy who plays anushkas fiance.I think he was the best thing to happen to the film.

Prabhas,i think was so boring with the same voice modulation that sounded like he was fast asleep while dubbing and kattappa trying comedy was W*F.

The whole movie was based on the premise and suspense of why Kattappa killed Bahubali which is so obvious and with that as a core, they stitched together romance scenes, boring songs and a few fights.

So,what was the difference between a regular mass film like baasha, kabali, theri and bahubali 1 and 2 apart from grand and great set ups and graphics.please, the graphics in the second part was as bad as kochidaiyaan and it makes you wonder that after two years only this was possible.

The rajamoulis film about a fly and magadheera had better graphics, better story and a better screenplay.

I think bahubali 2 was rajamoulis gift to prabhas for his service and sacrifice of six years.

I caught Dhanush's debut direction Pa pandi and just loved it.I hope to buy the blu ray dvd of both dangal and pa pandi and watch them and spend time with them as friends do over the coming years.

Great cinematography and great costumes do not make for a great film and as such Bahubali 2 is a good effort in ways of mass films and let me share a secret and that is mass hits and hyped films always turn out to be mass disappointments.

Now,the wait begins for aamir khans next films and i can't wait to go back with my popcorn and cold coffee and watch a master at work.Bravo aamir saab.Bravo.

My fan,my tv,my dvd player,my mobile,my pc monitor all carry made in china tags and i am glad that people in China who are watching dangal will see that it carries " Made in India" tag.

What if-The return 11

"Some things are hard to write about. After something happens to you, you go to write it down, and either you over dramatize it, or underplay it, exaggerate the wrong parts or ignore the important ones. At any rate, you never write it quite the way you want to. ? Sylvia Plath

Unlike many in that situation of looking up at a dead body that hung from the tree,Sanjay did not dial 100 but instead googled the kodaikanal police station for its number and made the call.

The call was picked up by Head constable ayyakannu who immediately informed Inspector prakasam who in turn gave the news to Sub-Inspector muthuselvam who had accompanied DIG Arivuselvam and Crime branch Inspector Loganathan.

SI Muthu ran up the stairs, hauling his sagging tummy and buttocks and would have probably died in a heart attack if the stairs had numbered more than fifteen.Huffing and puffing, panting and wheazing he ran towards Arivuselvam " Sir,inspector on line, sir.Body found sir."

DIG Arivuselvam took the mobile and listened to Inspector prakasam and then rapped out orders " Inspector, take a few constables and go and secure the place immediately and detain the person who made the call.Call the fire dept and inform them of the situation and ask them to send at least a dozen men to help with securing the crime scene and please,no news or messages to anybody.I mean it or it will be suspension for all of you.understood."

Inspector Prakasam hoping that this would be an opportunity to redeem himself in the eyes of DIG Arivuselvam yelled orders and sitting in the jeep along with a few other constables raced to the scene where the body had been found.

Arivuselvam walked back towards the room of father james gunaseelan who stood waiting and wondering for he and teh entire church knew something had happened for they had seen the familiar face of Fat SI muthuselvam run towards the DIG.

" Father james,a body has been found but i am not sure if it is of the missing father john.I am going there right now and will call and confirm if it is or if it is not."

Father james hurriedly grabbed Arivuselvams left arm " Arivu, please let me come with you."

Arivuselvam taken aback " Father, there is no need for you to be there and honestly it will not serve any purpose at all."

" No Arivuselvam,i am coming not out of curiosity but more importantly to say a prayer for the dead,if it is father john.I will remain in the vehicle until you confirm the identity and assure you i will not hinder you in anyway."

DIG Arivuselvam looked at inspector loganathan " Please go and secure the living quarters or room where father john stayed and don't let anyone enter without my permission. No one goes in.period."

Arivuselvam looked at father james " Is that okay with you father?"

Father james nodded for he there was little he could do for DIG arivuselvam was carrying out the orders of bishop paulsamy and his word was final and the law in all the churches around dindugul and madurai.

Inspector prakasam reached the site first with his constables and a few minutes later the constables from the fire dept also reached and soon the whole area was cordoned off.

The photos sent by sanjay and meena spread rapidly throughout the web but for the people in kodaikanal the news of a body being found, mysteriously dead and hanging from a tree came a little later and by the time people could come and stand and watch morbid fascination at the dead body, the whole place was secured and cordoned off and it was done rather efficiently by Inspector prakasam and his team.

DIG Arivuselvam rode quickly, carefully and the four cylinder,Four wheel drive,2200 cc,120 bhp, diesel engine roared and purred as he reached the place. Two constables stood at the end of the road that ended at the edge of the forest and both father james and arivuselvam followed the constables and after crossing nearly a km,reached the spot of the crime scene.

The wind that had been blowing behind them and that had given wings to their feet as they hurried to the scene of crime now suddenly changed direction and blew from the opposite direction as if wanting to introduce to all the humans present there as to how how bad a decomposing human body can smell.

Arivuselvam scanned the entire area with eagle eyes and they failed to find the body anywhere and with questions walked slowly towards the gathering of inspector, constables and police from the fire dept and spreading his hands " where is the body, prakasam?"

Together all eyes rose and looked at the heavens above and Arivuselvam following their cue looked up and for the first time in his career uttered in shock and fear " W*F" even before he could control the expletive.

His shock mirrored the same expression of all those who stood there and the same question reflected in everyone's eyes and lips.

The pine tree is commonly found in kodaikanal and usually grows up to 150 feet in height and that is as tall as a fifteen floor building.

DIG Arivuselvam looked at the pine tree on top of which the body hung and guessed its height to be about 80 feet or 85 feet at the most.

The body was dressed in a jeans and some dark colored shirt which was covered by a black sweater and it lay with its back to the ground below and face to the skies as if it was listening to its judgement being delivered by the one above.

Arivuselvam knew that the whys, whats and dont's would come later but the first thing to do was to lower the body down and identify it.

He turned to where father james stood quietly lost in meditation or contemplation and with a subtle nod beckoned him to the scene.

Father james walked slowly and even though he was walking towards death,he could not help noticing how soft and luxurious the forest floor felt for it lay carpeted with the dead and drying pine leaves, that over the years had taken on the feel of a expensive kashmiri woolen carpet.

Even for a man with many of years of service for the living and the dead and praying for them over their last moments ,the sight of seeing the body of father john was too much of a shock and after staring at the gruesome sight for many minutes as his mind tried to rationalize and come to terms as to what could have happened, he turned to DIG Arivuselvam with tears in his eyes and with a struggle mumbled " That is father john."

JANNAL ORAM-27

"The best thing for being sad," replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honor trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn.
T.H. White, The Once and Future King

Every three months, the board of directors numbering six, gathered in the mini conference room of K.K.Enterprises and matters of finance and few charity related matters were discussed in detail. Jeeva had been doing the presentation for the past five years and as always knocked on the glass door and after her boss waved her in,stood quietly waiting for them to finish their talks and chats about the recently concluded European holiday.

All five of the directors were handpicked members of his own family and all of them ran their own businesses and ran it pretty well.Family ties aside, all of them were sworn to each other and bonded to each other in blood and sacrifice and yet all of them looked up and to their Chairman K.K.Agarwal for among them they considered him the best of the best in all matters relating to life.

" Please begin jeeva" said k.k.agarwal.

The company's quarterly financial report and also a detailed report on current market trends were all neatly printed and bound in slim folders and armed with seven copies, six for her boss and the other directors and one for herself,Jeeva quickly laid one copy in front of all those who sat around the table facing her and the screen on which she would be presenting the same on a large screen and also explain everything in detail.

Using the laser pointer and the remote for the projector,Jeeva calmly and expertly took the boards of directors through the company's financial growth and then switching off the projector, laid the remote down and took her place behind her boss.

K.K.Agarwal looked at all of the other directors, all of them being his close family members and also trusted confidantes and then seeing their silence, turned back to Jeeva " Great work jeeva and as always a brilliant presentation."

Madhav Agarwal looked at the last page of the folder in front of him and then looked at K.K " Brother, you have donated nearly two crores in this quarterly alone.Great job bhaiya.I think i will do the same."

The Agarwal family had its roots in the troubles and struggles of partition and yet even after all these decades, they remembered all those who had died and all those who had lived to fight and sustain life and family. This memory and empathy led them to significantly contribute to many charities and all of them were done quietly and without garnering any attention to themselves.

In all,the Agarwal family based in chennai alone donated nearly ten crores to schools that belonged to all faiths and to children from all walks of life. And beginning in june, they gave away lap tops, scholarships and incentives to those who had stood in the top ten in school and college exams.

K.k.Agarwal who had known Jeeva for nearly eight years understood from the expression on her face that she had something on her mind that she wanted to tell them and yet waited for permission from her boss.

" Jeeva,do you have something on your mind regarding this matter of charities and contributions that we have been doing."

Jeeva looked at her boss " sir,can i be frank and open with all of you and really speak my mind about an important topic."

K.K.Agarwal nodded " jeeva, speak freely and please don't hold back."

" Sir,we are all aware that you have been steadily cutting down the portfolios of this company and in fact gave away many of your smaller companies to your family and to the directors that sit here with you.But i feel, that at this point of time,it would be a great contribution to the current and future society if we venture into the field of education."

Lal kishen agarwal, second cousin to K.K.Agarwal " But jeeva beta, there are a million schools and colleges already existing in this country and the market for new educational institutions is already saturated. That being the scenario, don't you think it would be a bit risky for us to invest capital in a new direction and a totally new line of business for K.K and the rest of us."

K.K.Agarwal leaned back and with a smile " Jeeva,i don't need to remind you for you are already aware of the significant amount of money we donate, contribute to schools and colleges.Isn't that enough?"

" Sir,all of you and i mean all the directors and all your family run businesses are doing great, making great money and look to be in great shape for years to come, with assured contracts and tie-ups with domestic and international companies. But all of them are only with industry, transport, imports and exports and sadly nothing to do with two major and vital needs of the hour that this nation needs and that is agriculture and quality education.

Today, from the moment a couple know that their child has been conceived, their main worry is not about how the child will be or its health but the school admission and its future education. The child starts racing from the age of two or three and is put right into a competition in which everyone is competing for one goal and that goal is getting the highest marks. Most parents are totally concerned about marks, best school, best colleges and best job placement and in the end every child is trained only with a fat paycheck in mind.

Like cars coming of an assembly line, lakhs of engineers, lakhs of doctors, many thousand MBA professionals are delivered from colleges and yet most don't find work.A person with an engg and MBA qualifications finds himself in marketing and in the end a sales representative wandering the streets and climbing stairs to make a sale.

But the point i am trying to make here is that is it enough for a student to get good marks and be deficient in every other field.Indian education is good but it is not perfect or wholesome and in the end totally counter productive."

" what do you propose jeeva?" asked a curious K.K

" Sir,i think we owe it to the country to make a significant contribution in a childs education and growth and that it should be done from the grass root level. In today's world of such corruption, crime and a sense of don't care or don't give a damn attitude,we need to shape our future generation from the word go and show to the world what can be done if a child is guided properly.Basically, the point i am trying to make is,let each child be what they want to be and not what the parents want them to be or require them to be."

K.k.Agarwal shook his head " Jeeva,do you realise how many hurdles one has to cross to start an educational institution, leave alone a creche for toddlers. So many palms to grease,so many babus and politicians to please."

"sir,i will handle everything sir.I have a trusted friend who is an advocate and who is well experienced in financial and other related legal matters.I think both of us can handle the bulk of the work and all you have to do is sign and then we can proceed from there."

It was the first time that jeeva had spoken of another person and one who didn't belong to the staff or her family and when she had used the word both,K.k had seen the light shine in her eyes and he had understood that the gentleman must be special, very special.

" Jeeva,i think you have made a valid point and we will look into it.Please prepare a detailed project report and submit it in our next quarterly board meeting and we will go ahead after that."

Jeeva thanked them all with a bright smile and after she had left,Lalkishen looked at K.K " brother, whatever you do please don't lose that lady for all of us know that she is practically running your business and doing a great job with it."

Madhav Agarwal went one step further " Bhaiya, none of us are getting any younger and so maybe it would be a great and wise move to promote jeeva as a director of this company and give her a place on this board."

K.K.Agarwal sat quietly in the conference room, alone for the others had left to take care of their own work and businesses and he sat working things out and also thinking " I only wish i had been given a child like jeeva.I have everything in life and yet it means nothing without a child to share it with."

He looked at the smiling Sai baba face " Maybe jeeva is right.I have no child of my own but i have been given the power to make a difference in millions of children's lives.I have been given all this wealth and power not for me or my family but so that i can serve others, especially those that really need it and need it at the most important milestone of their young lives."
